The good, the bad, and the ugly.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We really were excited for this trip to Scrub Island! The pictures looked so fun! Arrival was smooth and we were greeted at the dock with a welcome rum punch. Transported to the front desk and onward to the room went off without a hitch. So far so good. The room was beautiful sans the very small balcony with two small wooden folding chairs. Not at all comfortable and no shade coverage, so only usable on the early am when the sun was behind the building. We ate at Marina Cay, Donovan’s, and the Outpost. All excellent and yummy! We had treatments at the spa that were amazing (island dreams package and pedicures). The pool area, although beautiful, was impossible to get a lounger or table. The resort allows “day passes” and also allows the Marine guests to use the amenities, thus the pool is extremely crowded with no enforcement of the “drop and maybe we will come back towel saving of chairs type people”. We were only able to get chairs one of the 5 days we were at the resort! Pool was overcrowded with children some with no swimming suit or diapers! On checkout day, we received our final bill and noticed we were charged for 4 nights even though we had taken advantage of their spring special of book 3 nights and get one free. I spoke with the front desk who agreed my bill needed an adjustment and I would’ve sent a new summary before it was charged to my credit card. You guessed it, no adjustment and no call to tell me they were not going to adjust. I called the front desk several days later and they indicated I was charged correctly and they had reduced the nightly rate to equal the 3 night charge at much higher rate and spread the same cost over the four nights?!?!. Okay, weird, fishy, and allows you to add An additional nightly service charge and additional resort fee for the 4th night. The look is not a good one Scrub! A simple call to your customer would have helped. Disappointed, not even close to the 5 star you claim you are. We will not recommend and will NOT be back.

Not good for cruisers

If sailing ribs ridiculously expensive, pool price for visitors is $50!per person, provisioning is small and over priced. Probably good if you are staying there.

Cancelled on me at last minute

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Went to scrub island when it was Marriott property. Loved the trip and wanted to go back. Booked a room through VRBO. A week later, after I was charged a deposit and contacted scrub island to book diving trips, VRBO notified me that there was no vacancy for that time period. The real reason was VRBO was a $100 a night cheaper than booking through the property. 48 hours after sending my reservation to Scrub Island concierge…I was notify the reservation was cancelled. Not stepping foot on scrub island again. Unprofessional

Amazing Family Stay at Scrub Island

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Five star stay at Scrub Island. This was our 7th stay at Scrub over as many years. Though the quality has waxed and waned a bit (and we miss the benefits we used to optimize when it was a Marriott property) this stay was one of our best. 2-BR Villa was perfect for our family of four. Our head butler (Lady Dee) made sure via WhatsApp that we had anything we needed, no matter the time/hour. We particularly enjoyed the updated furniture and menus at the North Beach as well as at Cardamom and Co restaurant. This resort is still unmatched in my opinion in beauty as well as comfort, location, and value.

Extremely Poor Service/Gorgeous Views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

This extremely isolated resort offered stunning views of the Caribbean and the room itself (I stayed in the Leeward Villa) was outstanding. However, the service at this hotel was among the worst I've experienced. When my mother and I arrived (after pre-arranging our arrival time), we had to wait over an hour to be taken to our room (other family members said it took them over 2 hours). The phones in the rooms did not operate and trying to get picked up from our villa was a very stressful exercise. Despite the beautiful surroundings, I would not stay here again.
