Christmas in the Air, tremendous atmosphere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Amazing hote with a ton of atmosphere. The Christmas lobby was fantastic. Even though it was the day after Christmas, I loved remaining in the Christmas spirit. The food and view from the restaurant second to none. If I get the opportunity to hang out in downtown Seattle, this would be my choice stay

Great choice for my parents’ 50th Anniversary.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We stayed here for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary on New Year’s Eve and a couple nights before and after. We got a water view room for ourselves and an accessible balcony room for my parents. They very much enjoyed their stay, as did we. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We honestly had zero complaints other than the toilet in the accessible room being extremely low.

My Review

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

The location is one of the best that Seattle has to offer. The Edgewater used to be my favorite hotel on Earth. Sadly, it is using its location to charge exorbitant prices for the rooms, the food and the drinks, which are simply not worth it. We ate in the bar (not the lobby bar, just the bar) and had the disappointment of sitting away from a window table because the couples at those tables used both sides of the tables for themselves and their coats. The window tables need to be split so that they can accommodate twice as many couples as they now do. The bar menu looked good, but the offered cocktails were all around $20 and they were not very appealing nor were they any good. We tried about 4 of them and could not even finish some of them. We had the tuna tacos which were tasteless clumps of crunchy lard, and the burger, which could have been so much better. Our room, an over the water junior suite, looked at a lot of concrete and had no bathtub! The Edgewater begs for new management. With this killer location, it is a shame that they can't do better. Or maybe they can? Sadly, I won't be back to find out.

Dont visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Horrible experience! Would never visit. Didn't get 70% of the benefits promised. Had to ask 4-5 times about everything to get a clear response. Ordered food for room service that took over 1.5 hrs to come and charged $20 "delivery" fee within the hotel. If you dont pay a $65 overnight parking charge then nobody will help with the bags.

Magical New Year’s Stay with Unforgettable Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We spent New Year’s at The Edgewater Hotel and could not have asked for a better experience. Our suite was the cutest — cozy fireplace, stocked fridge, a small bar, and beautiful décor throughout. The view was breathtaking, and the hotel itself is incredibly warm and inviting. The location is truly unbeatable. Everything we wanted to do was an easy 15-minute walk — Seattle Center, the aquarium, the ferry terminal, Pike Place Market, and so many great dining options. We never needed a car, which made the entire stay feel relaxed and effortless. What truly set this experience apart, though, was the staff — especially Francesco. On New Year’s Eve, one of the staff members mentioned that balloons would be waiting for our girls the next morning. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived in the lobby, everything from the celebration had already been cleaned up. Francesco didn’t dismiss it or brush it off. He genuinely tried to track something down, checked with staff, and when he realized it wasn’t possible, he returned with two teddy bears as a surprise for our girls. Their faces absolutely lit up. It turned a small disappointment into the highlight of our entire trip. This is hospitality done right — thoughtful, warm, and personal. We travel often, and this is the kind of service that makes a place unforgettable. We will absolutely be returning.
