Nice hotel, not much nearby

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Hotel was in good condition. Great holiday decorations in the lounge for Autumn. The hotel is on the water so you can watch ferries and boats pass by. It’s not near much so you’ll have to walk ten minutes to find food outside. Room was clean and spacious. We had a room that overlooked the water. At night, the windows made the wind noise louder as it trapped the wind in the cracks of the window. The fireplace turning on in the middle of the night when the temperature went below the thermostat setting was distracting as light flickered throughout the room. Wifi seemed to work ok. I ordered room service not knowing there would be a delivery fee. I expected room service meal prices to be higher to account for the delivery fee. The delivery fee was not on the website or the breakfast in the menu nor was it mentioned when I called for room service. If i had known, i would have just went downstairs to pick it up. Food in the restaurant was generally good. We had 2 breakfasts and dinner room service. Resort fees mentioned a fitness center but never found where it was. Didn't get a chance to borrow bikes, guitars, records but could be a nice touch.

Run down hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

It’s an old hotel, where you may or may not get a renovated room. We got an older room, waterfront with a balcony. The service is good. The restaurant is decent, but overpriced. I had asked for a renovated room, again didn’t get one. There were scratches probably from a dog that someone had locked in the bathroom at one point, on the door. The bathroom doors are double doors that are super loud to open or close. So you won’t be doing that during the night or early morning if you don’t want to wake your person. The view is great. The location of the hotel is great. Honestly, the best thing about the room was the mattress. Everything else was very old, scratched, damaged, run down looking. It wasn’t worth the price. $1300 for a Friday and Saturday. I’m sure there’s hotels in the area with better rooms.

Amazing!!! Absolutely loved my experience staying here

That bed was so comfy! Stayed here for two nights, and had an amazing time. Excellent location; clean, quiet and comfortable rooms; great staff. Parking is limited, but I never had issues obtaining a spot. I was also blessed by some incredibly vivid Northern Lights on my first night. But yes, location location location. Shops, restaurants, the river walking path. I can't recommend this place enough honestly.

Plenty of other hotels in Seattle

Location - great! beautiful views of the water. Walkable to Pike Place, the waterfront park. Service - not great. We were made to wait for service at the front desk despite staff not assisting other people. They were very focused on their computer so much so that they could not even look up and acknowledge us. It would have been okay if they had said they were finishing something and would help us when done. No, so diligently focused on their screens that they did not notice us or other guests waiting. In fact, this happened at check-in, at check-out and twice more when we had questions. In addition, we booked through AMEX and it seemed like they did not like that. There was no explanation of restaurants (apparently just one) or services/amenities on site. When we attempted to get more information on the free breakfast and hotel credit, we were given a curt response. Cleanliness/Rooms - The devil's in the details and the Edgewater did poorly on that part. Clearly the property is old but one would expect upgrades to essential amenities over the years. The shower water pressure was poor and frankly unacceptable - just a trickle of water. The sink drainage was slow; we could not even wash our hands without the sink filling up. The AC/heat did not work well; the thermostat had to be cranked to extreme temperatures to reflect a comfortable room temperature. The carpeting and wood paneling were stained. there was gum stuck to the bathroom floors. Noise level - naturally will hear sounds of the ocean/seagulls. However, also be prepare to hear sounds of cruise ships docking and loading supplies. The hotel is literally next to the NCL dock. We were woken every morning but the sounds of a different NCL ship. SixSeven Restaurant - delicious food that was priced very appropriately, beautiful views, great service
