The Edgewater

$500 room + $100 Seattle taxes/fees. Pros: Nice quiet room with an ocean view. Courteous staff. Great location. Six Seven restaurant is exceptional! Cons: Windows don't have screens. No complimentary water bottles for a $600 room is tacky.

Price gouging at every turn. Example - all food and beverage subject to a 5% 'Pier Maintenance Fee' which was then subjected to a 10.5% sales tax on top of that fee. Dirty hallways littered with discarded room service trays that went uncollected overnight. Parts of the hotel closed for private events without adequate disclosure ahead of time. Bar was overcrowded with no place to sit.

Nothing to criticize. Great all the way around and our 2nd visit there. Except....the place is a bit dated. Their true claim to fame is: location location location. We WILL be back

It was a great location and vibe. The lounge is very comfortable and always themed, depending on the time of the year. Def. plan to return.

Overall, my husband and I were disappointed with our stay at The Edgewater Hotel, although there were some positives. The Pros - Beautiful water views from our room and ftom Six Seven - Delicious dinner with great service at Six Seven our first night - Spooky Halloween themed Pop-Up Bar for the month of October - Quirky, historical charm - Part of Chase Sapphire Edit program, so we received a credit and some perks, including an upgrade from city view to water view room. (Without this water view, I'd probably rate the hotel only 1 out of 5.) The Cons - Inconsistent service. Most staff members were very friendly, but one was rude. - We had a mix up on getting our breakfast food order one day (ordered at the coffee shop, were told the restaurant would bring it out and call our order number, after 20 minutes, we went to ask the restaurant for an update, and it turns out it was just sitting at the coffee shop while the two employees there were just chatting and didn't notice it to bring it to us. And the burrito was super sloppy and very wet and not good.) - Six Seven was just randomly closed on our last morning there (10am on a Monday). There were people in the restaurant eating, but as we approached the hostest stand, an employee said "Sorry this one is closed" so it seems like they just abruptly closed for some reason. - Despite its historical charm, rooms need serious updating to be considered a 4 star hotel. - Entire hotel has an old, musty, moldy smell. - The AC did not appear to be working in the room. - The bathroom started to smell fishy on our last night there. It seemed like the smell was creeping in from the shower drain. It was really bad our last morning and would have ruined the stay if it had smelled like that our whole trip! - My husband's CPAP machine came home smelling like fishy sea water. We had the window open for one to two hours each night of our stay and we didn't notice until we got home that the smell had attached to the CPAP. We'll be so sad if we can't get the smell out! I don't think I would return to this hotel. But I would return for dinner at Six Seven.
