The Edgewater

We recently stayed here during our family trip to Seattle. There are a few areas that could use improvements. The Cons: - We were on the first floor and you can hear every footstep from the room above. If you're a light sleeper, this may become frustrating. - The AC was VERY loud. It woke me up a few times throughout the night. - The Wi-Fi was surprisingly poor and unreliable throughout our stay. - Water pressure in the shower was very weak. I also thought the bathroom was designed poorly. It was a single shower stall but it lacked a door - which I understand sometimes they do that in bathrooms, but this was not a big enough shower area for the water to not spray outside. I also had to take a shower with my young child and this presented a problem because it was extremely cold in there with the water pressure being so low, it did not keep either of us warm throughout our shower. There was a shower vent in the room but it also did not work so it got very stuffy. - We requested towels around noon and had to ask four or five times before they finally arrived around 8:00 PM. I'm not sure what happened that day, but waiting eight hours for towels was disappointing. Apparently they delivered it to the wrong room because despite our name or the text messages they were sending us, they thought we were in a different room. That was a bit unnerving and I had to check our bill a few times in case things were crossed. - The rooms are on the smaller side, which may be worth considering if you're traveling with family or lots of luggage. The whole place had a woodsy feel to it. My husband said it kind of had an old smell but I didn't notice it. - The privacy door tag continually fell off the handle, which was a small but annoying inconvenience. - Valet Parking is extremely expensive ($60/night). While that's somewhat expected in downtown Seattle, it's still a painful added cost. The Pros: - The location is fantastic and hard to beat. It's within walking distance of many attractions, and the views from the outdoor areas overlooking Elliott Bay are absolutely beautiful. - The staff was friendly. I appreciated the text messaging feature, which made it easy to communicate with the front desk although it didn't help me with the towel situation. - The beds were very comfortable. - We ate at Six Seven Restaurant, and it was one of the highlights of our stay. The food was delicious, the waterfront view was incredible, and the hostess was warm and welcoming. Our server seemed a bit disengaged, but the excellent food more than made up for it. Overall, despite a few frustrating issues, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent location, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and outstanding restaurant. If management can improve the housekeeping response, Wi-Fi, and sound insulation, we would definitely come back. If you're staying here because you're taking off for a cruise (which was right next door), this would be a great hotel to stay at...and if you don't have young kids.

The Edgewater continues to be my favorite place to stay in Seattle. The location on Elliott Bay is hard to beat. Enjoying a morning coffee on the balcony while watching ferries and sailboats pass by is one of my favorite parts of every trip, and Pike Place Market and the waterfront are just a short walk away. What really keeps me coming back is the outstanding hospitality. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making my stay a great one. The Edgewater is more than just a hotel. It has become part of my Seattle experience, and I already look forward to my next visit.

The team at the Edgewater continues to perform at the highest levels. My wife and I truly appreciate the interactive experience of this property as much as the absolutely amazing views. Keep up the great work Team Edge!

I’m torn because the hotel was very nice and we paid a lot for a nice view and we did get that and it was amazing. However, if you go when there is a wedding (or 3 in our case), it was very loud and hard to get to sleep. One wedding was so loud we could hear the actual lyrics from the music as well as the guest singing along until 10pm. But there was another wedding that went on until 11pm that we could still hear quite loudly. Their venue spaces are on the 3rd and 4th floor which is strange. I’ve never had this problem at a hotel and for $900 a night I feel like it wasn’t worth that price. I’m sure it’s fine if you’re at one of the weddings and not a random guest staying so I would advise asking g about noise level in your room or not to go during wedding season.

We will hands down return here. This was our first visit to Seattle and the view out our window of the Edgewater was just unbeatable. Really close to a jogging trail and the market, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Bonus for having Six Seven restaurant as a daily option.
