The Edgewater

I can't tell you how much I appreciate what y'all did for me and my husband. Having emailed prior to see about an early check in, I mentioned in passing that it would be our wedding night. To our surprise, not only were we able to check in early, but we got up graded to a suite that overlooked the water. It was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable as all get out! Giddy from having just said our vows to one another, we opened the door to our electric candles lit and a chilled bottle of bubbles that my bestie sent. The staff was so unbelievably welcoming and so hospitable, congratulating us and helping us figure out the napkins and forks we forgot. That next morning, we awoke to the sun glistening off the water that appeared to be right outside the balcony doors. It was a beautiful way to start our marriage.

The location is cool, the valet is a bit expensive for what it is and how you are treated. They don't ask you if you need help with your bags to your room they're not expecting a tip, which is nice but also at the same time it's too expensive of a hotel to not have that option. We walked inside and it is a very pretty hotel and we were excited, but we were greeted with very mediocre not, very friendly. A few days prior, we had called to make sure that they had all the notes that it was our 10 year anniversary and that we were hoping to upgrade and be on a higher floor if possible, even though we know that sometimes one hotel is busy that can be a tall order. She said that there was no upgrades that we could possibly have. Our room is ready, but our friends that I had also booked on my card for points and they're paying me back Was not ready, so we went into our room, which all of us were like whoa this smells like cigarettes, and the view was of the valet. Just quite steep for the amount of money we paid. Another thing is there's a lot of surprise charges like when you are eating you're paying a maintenance pier fee. There is also a Seattle parking tax that you get charged every day plus $66 for valet. Anywhere when our friends room was ready it was completely upgraded to waterfront room. We were all really confused, especially because it was for our anniversary. The front desk didn't really want to look at the notes that we had written down and that they had written down when we had called a few days prior. They had given for an excuse that our friends had asked for two beds and that's why they got upgraded to that room, even though they had told us for his hand when we arrived there were no upgrades. Also, I was the one that booked the reservation and it already talked to Amex an hour earlier and there was nothing about a double bed and then when they looked at it, they said they don't know how This happened and that the hotel was booked, and there was no change that we could make for our anniversary. The water is absolutely stunning and worth it if you can stay in one of those room rooms but if you can't, I would say the hotel is really not worth it. The food is nice. I will say that, and the staff that works there is friendly where the rest of the staff is very non-friendly and all four of us that have worked in hospitality were quite disappointed. Overall, our anniversary experience was not what we were hoping, and we will be going somewhere else to celebrate it in the future.

Wonderful experience, beautiful surroundings, very hospitable atmosphere. Fantastic dining. Being mesmerized by the view of the water and warmth of the fireplace sets the mood.

This place is so beautiful! The Wyland wall, the sea lions, the food and views were top notch! Asia at the front desk is so kind and helpful- she made our stay even better!
