About the Hotel

When the property now known as The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle debuted in the Roaring Twenties, it marked the arrival of the Pacific Northwest – until then, hotels of that caliber were found east of Chicago. It hosted countless galas, debutante balls and presidential visits – JFK stayed here in 1961 – and, in 1979, joined the ranks of the National Register of Historic Places. Italian Renaissance architecture and Old World style meld into a centrally located Seattle landmark that hosts a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning restaurant and one of the city's oldest oyster bars.

Reviews for The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle

Wonderful stay, definitely recommend!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

10/10, I would highly recommend this hotel for both short and long stays. The building is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well presented. We had breakfast included with our stay, and it was excellent every morning, fresh, delicious, and with a great variety of options. Throughout our stay, Lieu was incredibly helpful with all of our questions and requests. He was friendly, professional, and went out of his way to assist us, including arranging to store our luggage before and after checkout, which we really appreciated. The hotel was consistently spotless, the rooms were quiet, and the overall service was outstanding. We had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again.

Polyester bed sheets

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Everything about this hotel was beautiful, until I crawled into bed. The sheets were 100% polyester and very pilled (like over the top ratty with little balls and stitching ripping out of pillow cases). The plastic bedsheets makes this a hard pass for future stays. Other than that issue, the room was clean and the pool/gym was a highlight. If you don't mind polyester sheets, then this is a great option for you. I would have given this hotel 5 stars for it's location (close proximity to great museums, Pike Place Market, Space Needle, and so many other beautiful, easily walkable attractions. Please someone fix the bedsheets and go back to cotton or linen for the price. We paid just under $1k to stay here for one night and the sheets ruined it for me.

One of the worst Fairmonts Iv ever stayed in. Exceptionally rude lady on the reception staff. Will be cancelling my upcoming reservation with them. Property is very nice.

Quiet, clean rooms with great staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed here one night as a birthday treat and enjoyed the stay. The valet was friendly and convenient. Check-in was great. I had received an email offering a discounted upgrade to a suite at check-in and they confirmed that upon arrival. It was a great deal and the extra space was well worth the $45. We arrived several hours before check-in and they gladly took our luggage while we spent some time downtown. The staff were all polished and very welcoming. When we went back to get our luggage they had it delivered to our rooms. The ice maker on our floor was not working so we called down to the front desk but couldn’t reach a real person. We were able to get the AI concierge to understand we needed ice for our room and it arrived about 15-minutes later. I will say that for a hotel at this price point, there should be a person picking up when you call. AI is a poor substation for the level of service you receive at check-in and it was frustrating to try to explain what we needed. The room was spacious and very clean with nice towels and a very comfortable king bed. The couch was definitely in need of replacement as it was worn and sagged a lot on the right side. We did request an in room refrigerator later that evening as we had dinner leftovers. It took over 30 minutes to arrive and was quite large and very beat up which didn’t align with the quality of the hotel but we appreciated it being available. We also appreciated the robes and in room coffee. We had an appetizer and cocktail at the Founders Club (highly recommended) but did not have any other food or drinks here. Overall the room was quiet and clean but not something that wowed you. The location is great and within walking distance to all the local sites. The staff were all great and we enjoyed our stay.
