About the Hotel

When the property now known as The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle debuted in the Roaring Twenties, it marked the arrival of the Pacific Northwest – until then, hotels of that caliber were found east of Chicago. It hosted countless galas, debutante balls and presidential visits – JFK stayed here in 1961 – and, in 1979, joined the ranks of the National Register of Historic Places. Italian Renaissance architecture and Old World style meld into a centrally located Seattle landmark that hosts a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning restaurant and one of the city's oldest oyster bars.

1 night stay

Good location, attractive lobby Wall paper in the room is stained, wood work chipped in the room and hallways. We stayed using AMEX promotion of discounted room cost and 100$ food and beverage and 72$ breakfast credit. It was ok overall

Nice hotel but could use some simple improvements

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We stayed there for a wedding in Seattle. Very nice hotel but could use a little maintenance. The bar in the lobby is the star of the show - great location and great drinks. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is very good but it is pricey. The speakeasy is a really nice touch but we were unable to get into it on each of the 3 nights we were there so be sure to book a reservation. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. My feedback to management is that they need to inspect for the details and then do the required maintenance. Two examples (see pics) — first the bathroom in the hotel lobby has chipped paint and cheap generic trash containers and towel dispensers that I’d expect in a 3-star hotel. The Fairmont is a higher end brand and should look that way. Similarly, in our bathroom there is wallpaper paste all over the walls. Even a cursory inspection by management would have seen the poor look of the walls and fixed it. I know those are small things but they add up when you are expecting a 5 star environment. Have not had those types of issues at St. Regis or Four Seasons.

Good stop in Seattle.

Conveniently located close to Waterfront and Downtown Town.Smart lobby and bar, efficient check in.Our room was ready when we arrived at 1 pm after a flight from London. Clean room and good house keeping. Bathroom needs modernising. Concierge very helpful. Bar expensive ,bar snack menu limited and food poorly presented , service hit and miss. Hotel coffee shop good with a good choice of food. Breakfast service in the main Restaurant very slow,20 minutes for food to arrive after coffee was served. Would recommend dinner at the Capitol Grill adjacent to the hotel excellent for seafood and grills, loved the crab cakes.Fair prices and excellent service.

Lots of ambience

Good location near Symphony train station making taking the train from the airport a good option ($3 per ride). Nice room, comfortable and large. Resort fee makes little sense and the benefits aren’t well explained but you do get a $7 coffee from the coffee shop downstairs if you ask for it. Indoor pool was nice, also a nice gym. Lots of ambience at the hotel and very friendly staff. Didn’t eat at the hotel but had Pizza at MOD a couple of blocks away which was good.

This hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay here! The service was great and the room exceptional. The food was all amazing too. Its a bit of a splurge but definitely worth it for a short stay!
