Great location for sightseeing, food and culture. Staff has been brilliant every time I stay here. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Prices are what you’d expect from higher end Seattle hotels. Two highlights that are above and beyond, staff and the restaurant. The food is amazing but expensive, certainly worth it on a special occasion. What keeps me booking with them though is the staff, from front of house to room cleaning, every single staff member has been so friendly and exceedingly helpful. I’m returning to Seattle next month and am looking forward to the stay

If you’re here looking at reviews wondering if this is the hotel for you, look no further. We loved our stay at this hotel. We arrived to find out there was an issue with the third party we booked through. Ainsley & Christian on the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful. While they sorted it all out for us they sent us up to the rooftop bar for a complimentary drink. By the time we’d finished our drinks, Ainsley arrived to say that it was all sorted and our bags were on our room. Location wise, the hotel is great. No more than a 20 min walk to Pike Place Market with plenty of interesting sights along the way. 7 mins to Pioneer Square, 15 mins to Pier 55 and 10 mins walk to the T Mobile stadium if you fancy a Mariners game. We stayed in a Douglas Fir Studio room which was well appointed, clean and quiet. Soft carpets in the hallway and soft closing doors make for a quiet night and there are water refill stations on every floor. Breakfast was always good with a good choice of food. Guests also receive one free tea or coffee with breakfast. All of the staff were great. We’d have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

The Populus was honestly one of my favorite hotel experiences ever. The location was central for us as we were without a car and it was easy to walk to the revitalized waterfront, Pike Place and Mariners Stadium. The decor was a standout. It was filled with plants and natural textures in a dark cozy vibe, the window of our room looked out onto 1st Ave but the trees created a feeling as if you were in the woods. The staff at check in, their restaurant Salt Harvest and the cafe were outstanding. I felt as if each staff member I interacted with went out of their way to help us or make us feel welcome. As others have stated the rooms were a bit on the small side and our room looking out onto 1st avenue was on the busy and noisy side on the weekend nights (but easily blocked out with the earplugs I brought.) Neither of these detracted from our stay. Whenever I come back to Seattle I will stay at The Populus again.

The artwork in the lobby and rooms is amazing, and completely challenges what you might expect in a hotel environment. I’d argue that it’s rivaling local galleries.
