About the Hotel

Amara is a gem among the Sedona hotels. Perhaps you've heard about Sedona's stunning Red Rocks-they are a tad bit famous (for good reason). The scenery here is almost impossibly beautiful, as if an artist made the entire horizon his canvas. Fortunately for all who visit, the Red Rocks are very real and provide the stunning backdrop for our world-class boutique hotel, Amara Resort.

Reviews for Amara Resort and Spa

Pleased, but shorted!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

The spa was awesome based on the service that I chose, which was the Amara. Oasis which was a body scrub and a massage and then I added an enhancement of cupping. Lindula I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong, but she was amazing. She was very spiritual, very skilled in her profession. The downfall to this service was the paid for enhancement, which is squeezed into your already paid for 90 minutes. You would think if you paid for enhancement, it would be additional time for them to do it. And it wasn't, so I felt that portion of the service was rushed. And not done thoroughly, not her fault.Definitely the businesses Fault. Last but definitely not least. I was charged a 22% service fee in which the guy said I should have been told at the time of booking or at the time of my appointment confirmation phone call, I was not at either time. So beware. The person I booked with his name amalda is very nice. But definitely that bit of information out!!

Conveniently located, nice pool/spa, but request a room away from the restaurant.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This was our second time staying at Amara. This time we brought 3 other couples with us. The hotel is conveniently located, which is why we went back and since we had reservations at Oak Cress, it was a short walk from our hotel. The river behind the pool area is a must see and if you can, take a plunge in the hot tub to relax and soak in the beauty of the red rocks as you look beyond the infinity pool. The restaurant was also really good, highly recommend it. The only reason I didn't give this rating a 5 star is because our room was on the ground floor next to the restaurant where we could hear the music blaring all day/night until the restaurant closed. The screen outside the patio is see through, so be careful getting dressed if your curtains aren't drawn. There was also a very squeaky door a few feet from our bedroom that was an employee room. Anytime we were in our room, we could hear the squeaky door open and close. We stayed for 4 days/3 nights...so it became annoying after awhile. Lastly, if you need a lot of space for your toiletries, you'll find that there is no room for that. The only space was around the frame of the sink and on top of the toilet. There was no shelving near the vanity, which made it very difficult for applying make-up.

Lovely Stay Despite Historic Rainfall

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Unfortunately, during my stay, Sedona experienced the hardest rainfall in seven years, which impacted my ability to enjoy everything the resort had to offer. While I wasn’t able to utilize the spa or fully experience the resort amenities, I still appreciated the atmosphere and service. My room was beautifully designed with a view of the creek, which would have been perfect for relaxing outdoors. Sadly, due to the heavy rain, I couldn’t sit on the balcony furniture or soak in the peaceful surroundings the way I had hoped. Even though Mother Nature had other plans, I could see the potential for this resort to be an amazing getaway. I look forward to returning when the weather is kinder so I can truly enjoy the spa, outdoor spaces, and Sedona’s natural beauty.

Relaxing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Location was perfect. I walked up from the hotel to the Main Street where the shops and restaurants were located. I did not need to use my car to go to the shops. View from the hotel and pool is spectacular. The pool was great. The short stay at Amara Resort helped me unwind and relax.

Great stay and great location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had a great stay at Amara. The location was perfect. Right in the heat of beautiful views and nearby shops and restaurants. The valet staff are always available to drive you up the hill to the shops whenever you want. Rooms were spacious and clean. Pool was nice. All staff was super friendly. My wife forgot her bathing suit and we were able to purchase one at the spa and even revived a discount for some reason so it was only $20. Drinks were good at the pool. And I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Sedona.
