About the Hotel

Amara is a gem among the Sedona hotels. Perhaps you've heard about Sedona's stunning Red Rocks-they are a tad bit famous (for good reason). The scenery here is almost impossibly beautiful, as if an artist made the entire horizon his canvas. Fortunately for all who visit, the Red Rocks are very real and provide the stunning backdrop for our world-class boutique hotel, Amara Resort.

Reviews for Amara Resort and Spa

Hopefully this helps

Wildly disappointed in this “resort”…hopefully this review helps others because based on my research and upon booking I had much higher expectations of this place Not sure who is running this place but everyone is very disconnected from the concierge to the front desk attendant to the valet to the restaurant. We were offered a psychic reading New Year’s Eve, no notice of reserving a time, front desk even gave us directions to find her and failed to mention she was fully booked?? We were offered a complimentary golf cart ride to the shopping area, again by the front desk. We went out to the valet, no shuttle service was running due to the weather- why didn’t the front desk know this? We were told they would replenish our water bottles in the room, then after not receiving and following up we were informed they were “out of complementary” water bottles but were getting a new shipment in tomorrow…never received We tried to order room service but no one answered our calls, we called the front desk to then be transferred, again no answer. You’d think they’re literally facing each other they would notify each other of guest needs The rooms are mediocre, this is not luxury by any means, it’s basically a glorified motel and they clean everything with chlorine so it just smells like a giant swimming pool locker room. Don’t stay here if you’re pregnant like me and are sensitive to smells. The bed isn’t even made properly the bottom sheet doesn’t cover the full mattress so you’re sleeping on direct mattress - GROSS! Least of my concerns but felt the need to add- why aren’t there guest slippers? Why would I want a robe with no slippers? Again sad “resort”. All this to say the staff was really nice and understand they’re probably trying their best with what they have but this is absolutely not a 4 star or 5 star experience in the least bit, don’t waste your money, just stay at a Marriott or Hilton.

We stayed at the Amara for our wedding. We were eloping in the red rocks and needed a setting to house us and honeymoon

Can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. All the staff were welcoming and courteous. The food amazing, the bed exquisite, the view of the creek delightful.

I had a beautiful time at Amara resort. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. If you go to Salt Rock, say hi to Valentina!! She was the best! Very prompt service, she kept our drinks full, and was so sweet!

Skip the spa but enjoy the room

Skip the spa. It’s not worth it. The rooms are clean and recently updated. The location is convenient for shopping and taking the shuttle to other activities.
