About the Hotel

Amara is a gem among the Sedona hotels. Perhaps you've heard about Sedona's stunning Red Rocks-they are a tad bit famous (for good reason). The scenery here is almost impossibly beautiful, as if an artist made the entire horizon his canvas. Fortunately for all who visit, the Red Rocks are very real and provide the stunning backdrop for our world-class boutique hotel, Amara Resort.

Comfortable and welcoming

This place is a gem. The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming. The resort sits at the creek bass and faces red rocks. It’s well designed. The rooms are comfortable and full of natural light. The only criticism I have is that the bathroom in our room smelled of mildew. But the rest of the experience outweighed that issue. The breakfast was delicious and the cocktails at the bar were amazing. We would book here again without hesitation.

Wonderful place to say

What a lovely hotel. We had first thought we would stay at a hotel down the creek which was much more expensive. But their dining charges were outrageous for a family of 7. So we found this hotel just a few minutes up the road and also on the creek. What a pleasure it was to stay here. The building and rooms were lovely, the pool was so much better than the other hotel, with many nooks for conversation, a zero depth beach walk in, attached spa and infinity edge overlooking the creek. My grandchildren spent many hours in the pool. There were steps down to the creek and a chair hammock to sit in over the water. It was a nice place to have coffee in the morning, listening to birds and watch ducks on the water. The staff were amazing, so on top of everything. Even at the end when we called for a bellman to pick up our cart of suitcases, they then retrieved our car (without being told) and had it ready to load when we got outside. Everyone there was so pleasant. The hotel was just below the northern end of town with easy access to shops and restaurants. The hotel used a golf cart to run people up and down to the main street if you didn't want to walk it (a bit steep). If you are adventuresome with food, the restaurant looked nice, but we aren't so interested in mexican flavors and food we don't know, so we didn't try it.

This was a beautiful resort. Waking up to see the Red Rock formations was something special. The staff was extremely courteous and accommodating during our stay.

The worst service you will ever get!! Not worth it, book something else

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This has to be the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever dealt with. I booked clients who were celebrating a very special birthday and wanted a memorable celebration in Sedona. I originally suggested L’Auberge and I encourage everyone to go there instead. I booked Amara and then a week prior to my clients arriving asked for an early check in, which we all know is upon availability, but I stressed how important this trip was for them, along with asking them to make it special with a welcome amenity and then asked Jesus at the front desk if I could have flowers put in their room. He said the hotel was able to do rose petals, but if I wanted flowers to call their 3rd party trusted vendor. Then, I emailed a day prior and the day of asking again for an early check and that my clients would be there early after driving hours. At 4pm check in time for the hotel, my clients texted me saying they were still waiting for their room and that the hotel had told them they were still cleaning it. I was so appalled as, no matter how busy the hotel was, I’m sure every single guest checking in wasn’t asking for an early check in and they didn’t make any effort to even have the room ready at the regular check in time. I asked Jesus again for petals and something special to the room and he then advised me one day after telling me they could do petals that due to high occupancy, petals were no longer available. Wow, if anyone ever wants to feel special, have any kind of service, or anyone who would like to be treated at the bare minimum that most other hotels serve, DO NOT STAY here. My clients wish they listened and would’ve booked L’Auberge, because truly it makes a difference when a hotel does not even care about special occasions, regular check in times, requests of any kind, etc. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, this is so sad! I will never allow another client to stay here.
