Amara Resort and Spa

My husband got me the Mindful Escape Package for my birthday. I did an early morning hike and checked in early. They were kind enough to hold my luggage until my room was ready while I used the Spa steam room and shower before my spa appointment. I was grateful to have the opportunity to use the steam room. I LOVE steam rooms. The attendant was very helpful in explaining and showing me all of the features the Spa had to offer. I brought my own toiletries; however, I was happy to see they had just about everything you could need from hairbrushes/hairdryer and straightener, razors, hair caps, makeup remover, even spray deodorant, dry shampoos, regular shampoo and body wash. The lounge was lovely and very relaxing, I honestly could have stayed there all day with the light snacks, teas/water, and meditation music. The resort’s robe and sandals made me feel very pampered. Before my dinner reservation, I relaxed outside at one of their fire pits and journaled; one of the items given in the package. The water fountain next to me was very soothing. Their restaurant was lovely and the food was wonderful. Staff were very kind and informative. I made sure to return for breakfast. I enjoyed the peaceful morning by my first floor room which faced the courtyard. The water fountains and birds chirping while I sat on the balcony was magical. I made a point to walk down to the creek since the resort has access. I wanted to take advanced of the opportunity and was fun. I didn’t spend very much time in my room although it was very lovely and modern. I hope to use the yoga mat they had available and hopeful I won’t need the use of their umbrella that’s also available in the room. I was actually very sad and reluctant to check out, I’m making this my regular retreat moving forward and I can’t wait to come back, definitely for more nights than just one. Oh, they were willing to hold my luggage after I checked out so I can explore the creek more and the shops. I was SUPER grateful they had a little shuttle to get up the hill. I didn’t want to hike simply to shop. I’m in love with this place.

Creekside Suite was an aweosme room, with 2 balconies. The decor in the room was new, the carpet really clean and amenities were nicely stocked and appointed. The staff was friendly and it was refreshing to feel taken care of..exactly what we were looking for. The food at Salt Creek was excellent. Live music was great...awesome voice and nicely published. , Alejandro was excellent as our waiter, and the food was fresh, tasty, and steak was cooked perfectly and quality cut. The star of the show is the staff. Freindly from valet to housekeeping, everyone was helpful, positive, and you feel the training that went into making this so. Well Done AMARA, well be back

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Amara. Amazing view of the Oak Creek River from our patio. Restaurant on site was very convenient for morning breakfasts and the pool / hot tub were perfect after hikes.

I felt like the resort overall got about 75% of the way there. Small things missed at just about every turn. Syrup left off the plate when ordering waffles. Long waits at every meal for service and then for food but the food was good when it arrived. The room was serviced every day but the bathroom floor wasn't swept and pillows were left on the floor. In a resort like this, attention to detail is really important and Amara has work to do on this front to compete with other resorts of this caliber.
