I absolutely love this property—it’s so zen, serene, and incredibly beautiful. The service is truly top-notch, from the wonderful car service (which takes you anywhere within a couple of miles, so convenient!) to the wide range of activities offered right at the resort. We enjoyed everything from yoga and meditation to sound bowl healing and even a psychic reading. Every experience left us feeling relaxed, recharged, and completely at peace. It was exactly what we needed, and I can’t wait to return!

Our recent stay was exceptional. This is a very special place. Spend some time in the creek. If you stay still, the ducks will swim up to you. You can ask the front desk for a bag of food and they may even eat out of your hand.

We stayed for 8 days and 7 nights (August 1–8) to celebrate our one-year anniversary. The property is beautiful, the food was excellent, and its location right by Uptown made it easy to access shops, restaurants, and activities. However, the service from the front desk and concierge team fell short of expectations. They acknowledged our anniversary and said they would make it special, but nothing was done, not even a small gesture. We were told our room would be automatically upgraded, but that only happened after I followed up. This upgrade is also a feature included for American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts customers, so it should have been handled without issue. Throughout our stay, there were multiple missed callbacks. On check-in day, the front desk manager could not answer my questions about the incidental hold and promised to call back but never did. On our last day, I asked to confirm my 4 PM checkout, which is guaranteed through Amex Fine Hotels, and again I never received the promised call. I had to follow up myself. Our first room in the lodge had loud rattling bathroom pipes whenever anyone in the building used them. After moving, our second room’s TV frequently displayed error codes, glitched out of apps, and froze. While staff were welcoming, there was a noticeable lack of follow-through and facility /operations knowledge. For a high-end property, I expected far more attentiveness, especially for a milestone stay.

I don’t write negative reviews, but this was so bad, I feel I have to. This is in no way a 5 star experience. It is a bait and switch from the pictures online to the empty promises of the staff. Our guest room had broken A/C and we were told to sit by the river and they’d deliver fans and our bags, which they did not. We were then told to go to dinner, returning to our bags, but still no fans. Our room had one bed instead of two and was 96 degrees. It was unbearable. The next day they said they move us rooms, but not until 4pm check in time. So, we had no room and were going to use the pool, but that was closed. So they suggested we once again, go sit in the river for the next 7 hours. After pushing, we got our new room expedited, but still, no bags, again. This continued with the same theme surrounding the room service tray pick up, the in-room coffee maker breaking and ANOTHER A/C breaking, leaving us without air in this new room as well. So, out of 4 nights, we only had 2 with air, in Sedona, in July. The apologies were continual, but not authentic, as nothing changed. It was supposed to be a relaxing trip for my 50th birthday and instead, it was constant work to get the basic level of service. I was told by the manager on check out, that they’d take care of room charges, and work on more credits, but 6 days later, 3 emails, and 2 phone calls, I heard nothing. Please don’t waste your money. Truly. You’d be better off at a 3 or 4 star.

The first time that we visited L'Auberge was July of 1984, just a few cabins and the restaurant were there. The food, service and atmosphere were out of this world then and it is still great over 40 years later. So good that, we are planning on driving up from the valley twice a year. We come in on 179, and it is just desert for a few miles, then we round a curve and there it is- - - -the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. It never fails, when we round the curve, relaxation washes over us and the tension of daily life is gone and you can feel the tension as it leaves!!
