We had a group retreat meeting in Sedona. The accommodations were very nice and convenient to get around. Capt Joe, Angie, Aaron, Henry were the best. We had some technical issues connecting with our remote teammates, but the team came through and saved the day.

Booked the Cliffs based off the knowledge they were the most recently renovated…only to arrive and realize it faces a parking lot/back of a shopping center. I’m not sure how this has been designated 5 stars. After we checked in on the lower level and drove up to the cliffs location we didn’t once take the trek down so we essentially only interacted with a few valet members. It is definitely a ‘removed from the resort’ sense of feeling. We also have no idea who or what was above us, but there were numerous instances of very heavy stomping/moving around at various times with one time occurring at approximately 530am waking me up. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and we will not be returning to this establishment.

No other place would go to such extreme lengths accommodating their patrons for a mishap they could’ve easily shifted the blame on to me. Instead, not only did they apologize and take ownerships, they went “above and beyond” to ensure we have the most memorable experience we ever had while vacationing, and thank God, we’ve privileged to do that numerous times a year. The quality received exceeds the quantity we paid. Kudos to Lexa and her staff for emboldening our experience.

We were there for a couple’s trip early January and we couldn’t be more disappointed. The hotel was understaffed, always a line to speak to someone at the front desk. Hotel staff wasn’t trained well. The worst of it all - a male staff walked into our room (around 1035am) without knocking while I was naked! I just got of the shower, walking towards my suitcase while my hubby was entering the bathroom. We had heard noises outside but didn’t realize it was someone on our porch. Luckily, my husband was in the bathroom and able to react quickly and slammed the door shut. This unfortunate incident was the second one we experienced during our 2 night stay. On the second day of our stay, a maid knocked on our door and let herself in before we could answer. We then told her to come back later. We didn’t report the incident because we didn’t think it was a big deal and we were fully clothed. Little did we know that was just an indication of what to come….. Needless to say we were very upset about the incident - invasion of our privacy in an expensive hotel room that we had paid for. I was so upset and trembling when I complained to lady at the front desk. The poor gal was all alone managing the front desk on a Sunday at 11am which was check out time. There was no manager on the property. As I was complaining, another lady guest walked up to the front guest and stated that she and her husband also experienced the hotel staff walked into their room without knocking. The gal started crying because she was overwhelmed with the situation and basically had nothing to say other than sorry and a manager would be in touch with me around noon. It was 2pm and still no call. I called up the property and was told that manager was busy and would call me back in 45min! When I finally spoke to the manager, she said the hotel staff had was supposed to go to a different room that was supposedly ‘empty’. I asked if their staff was trained on the very basic procedure of knocking prior to entering regardless if they thought they room is empty or not. I’ve been managing corporate travels for years and every time I do a hotel visit, they would knock the door wait a few seconds before letting themselves in to an empty room. The manager decided that wiping our remaining charges of $1000 was a fair compensation for me to be walked into while I was naked. The property itself is very beautiful and the lake side cabins are well appointed with wood burning fireplace. They have duck beach where the ducks would gather and you can get feed from the front desk to feed them. Nice pool that overlook the beautiful red rocks. The lake side cabins go anywhere from $1000-1500 depending on the season, with summer being the most expensive. One other thing to note: they will not accommodate early checking request. My fiancé and I decided to book a cottage here since we recently got engaged. We loved how quiet and peaceful the grounds were. We enjoyed the Cress Bar, Tristen is the best at service and hospitality. He made us some amazing Mezcal Old Fashioned’s while we waited for our room. During our stay we enjoyed a couples massage that was the best, highly recommended. Would definitely come back.
