My daughter had her wedding here yesterday and it was amazing! The staff have been so kind, the food exceptional and the whole occasion has been a wonderful experience!

My expectations were high and I felt the experience at this hotel was very underwhelming for the price (over $600 CAD after conversion). We stayed one night and it was definitely overpriced for what it was after spending 9 days driving the ring road and staying at amazing hotels. The view of our room was looking out at the geothermal plant across the road which was strange as the location marketing for the hotel was focused around adventure and serenity - not what I expected to look at. There was a wedding happening the night we stayed which we were not made aware of - noisy and dirty towels, robes and glasses were left by the Lava Spa. Our room was located near the northern lights bar which was a cool space but became frustrating throughout the evening / night as the door kept slamming and waking us up from people entering and existing. The atmosphere may have been different if there was no wedding but you should have to book out the entire hotel for a wedding as it affects the other guests experience. Lastly, the service at the restaurant was mediocre. There was plastic wrap baked into my focaccia bread - the waiter was very apologetic and offered us free drinks - but after that no one came by our table for 15+ minutes until we flagged them down to leave. Overall I would not stay here again.

Very nice hotel with excellent service and great super friendly staff! Great value for money. We enjoyed the spa so much! The pool is fantastic and relaxation zone as well. The new part of the hotel is amazing. Super extra comfy beds!!!!!

This is such an incredible hotel in the most amazing location. Yes it's remote, but that's a great part of the hotel. The view is stunning, the hotel and pool is gorgeous and such a nice design. The team are all really friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and bar is great, they were even happy accommodate both vegan and nut allergy in the restaurant with a delicious meal and dessert. The wake up call for the Northern lights was a really nice touch.

We had a lovely stay at the Ion Adventure Hotel (October 2025). We stayed for two nights during a snowstorm and it was stylish yet cozy with the most beautiful views. The bed was especially comfy! We particularly loved the outdoor geothermic pool and were lucky enough to witness the most beautiful aurora display for hours whilst relaxing in the pool. One of the hotel staff members kindly helped us drive our car out of its snowy parking space when we came to leave.
