Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas

My first impression of the hotel was not bad. The front desk check-in process was relatively quick, and the basic customer service was acceptable. However, when the topic of my company’s Gold status came up during check-in, another staff member stepped in and seemed to rush the process without providing a clear explanation. It gave me the impression of being hurried along to go to my room, which was somewhat disappointing. During my stay, there were several issues that stood out: 1. I needed to send a package and asked the concierge for assistance. I was informed that there would be a service charge of 16,000 KRW. In my experience staying at other five-star hotels, I have never been charged for this type of basic assistance. In fact, at another hotel I stayed at just before coming here, **Andaz Seoul Gangnam**, the staff provided this service free of charge. The amount itself is not significant, but it left a negative impression because it felt like a standard service was being treated as an extra paid option. 2. The hotel website clearly stated that a complimentary shuttle service was available. However, when I contacted the front desk, I was told that it was simply an error on the website. From a guest’s perspective, this kind of inaccurate information can be misleading, and I am planning to file a complaint regarding false advertising in the near future. 3. Breakfast was average overall. I have lactose intolerance, so I specifically requested an oat milk latte. Although the drink was later replaced, the initial beverage I received appeared to be made with regular milk. I had already taken a few sips before realizing it, and I experienced discomfort afterward. For guests with dietary restrictions, this is an important detail that requires more careful verification. 4. At check-out, there was no attempt to ask about my stay or provide even a brief closing interaction. It felt somewhat impersonal and procedural. 5. While entering and leaving the hotel, the valet or front-of-house staff rarely took the initiative to offer assistance. Overall, the level of attentiveness felt lower than expected. Before staying at this property, I spent several days at **The Shilla Seoul**, and I have also stayed at **Park Hyatt Seoul**, **Andaz Seoul Gangnam**, and **Four Seasons Hotel Seoul** in the past. All of those properties delivered a high level of service and attention to detail, so naturally comparisons were inevitable. Overall, the facilities themselves were not bad, but in terms of service consistency and attention to detail, the experience did not meet my expectations for a five-star hotel. Personally, I am unlikely to return. 호텔 첫인상은 나쁘지 않았습니다. 프론트 체크인도 비교적 빠르고 기본적인 응대도 괜찮았습니다. 다만 체크인 과정에서 회사 골드 등급 관련이 나왔을 때, 충분한 설명 없이 다른 직원이 와서 서둘러 처리하고 방으로 올라가라는 느낌을 받아 다소 아쉬웠습니다. 지내면서 몇 가지 아쉬운 점이 있었습니다. 1. 택배를 보내기 위해 concierge 서비스에 문의했더니 서비스 차지 16,000원이 발생한다고 안내받았습니다. 그동안 이용했던 다른 5성급 호텔들에서는 이러한 기본적인 도움에 별도 비용을 청구한 적이 없었고, 심지어 이호텔 오기전다른 호텔(안다즈)에서는 무료로 지원해 준 경험이 있어 비교가 되었습니다. 금액의 문제가 아니라 서비스 기준에 대한 부분에서 아쉬움이 남았습니다. 2. 호텔 홈페이지에는 무료 셔틀 서비스가 운영된다고 명시되어 있었지만, 프론트에 문의하니 단순한 오류라고 설명을 들었지만, 투숙객 입장에서는 혼란을 줄 수 있는 부분이라 조만간 허위광고 로 신고할 예정입니다. 3. 조식은 전반적으로 평범한 수준이었습니다. 특히 유당불내증이 있어 오트밀크 라테를 요청했는데, 실제로는 일반 우유가 제공된 것으로 느껴졌고 다시받긴했는데 이미 몇모금 마셔서 이후 컨디션이 좋지 않아 상당히 불편했습니다. 식이 제한이 있는 고객에게는 중요한 부분이라 조금 더 세심한 확인이 필요하다고 생각합니다. 4. 체크아웃 시 투숙 경험에 대한 간단한 피드백이나 인사도 없어 다소 형식적인 마무리라는 느낌을 받았습니다. 5. 호텔 입출차 시 차량 관련 직원들이 먼저 안내하는 모습도 거의 없었습니다. 전반적인 서비스 적극성이 기대보다 낮았습니다. 이 호텔에 오기 전에는 The Shilla Seoul 에서 며칠 머물렀고, 이전에는 Park Hyatt Seoul 안다즈, 포시즌 도 이용한 경험이 있습니다. 다른곳모두 서비스와 세심함에서 매우 만족스러웠기 때문에 자연스럽게 비교가 되었던 것 같습니다. 전체적으로 시설 자체는 나쁘지 않았지만, 서비스 디테일과 일관성 면에서는 기대했던 5성급 수준에는 다소 미치지 못했다는 인상을 받았습니다. 개인적으로는 재방문 의사는 크지 않을 것 같습니다.

This was my first trip to Korea and what a treat! My husband and I are in our early 50's so we wanted to stay somewhere close to lots of restaurants and shops, and we wanted a luxurious feel. The Grand Intercontinental certainly did not disappoint. Our bags were delivered to our room quickly and when I called to ask for a scissor to cut off a ziptie the airlines had put on our luggage, we had someone at our door with a pair of small scissors in just a couple of minutes. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had in Asia with so many unique options and the service was top notch. The hotel goes straight into the COEX mall, so if you enjoy shopping, you are going to be super happy with this location. If you have kids and require a washer/dryer, however, I might recommend the Oakwood where our friends stayed. You are a short walk and close to two different train stations, and the Starbucks in the mall. I would definitely stay here again!

Location is convenient- close to train exit and connected to COEX mall. Staff is friendly and always helpful. This was my 4th stay over 9 years and fully recommend this hotel for your Seoul stay.

We found little to fault with the Grand Intercontinental Parnas. Facilities are excellent and the staff were bailable to meet every request and need. Not a hotel issue but we found taxis and uber a convenient and inexpensive way to get about town. Lastly, the club lounge staff, facilities and offering exceeded our expectations.. we will be back.
