The Westin Josun Seoul

The Westin Josun Seoul was the highlight of our family vacation. Everyone working here is so professional and welcoming and really made my family feel right at home. Julie at the front desk set the right tone for our stay with her friendly, helpful, and compassionate demeanor and service. She was easily the most pleasant hotelier I spoke to during my two week trip in Korea. The hotel itself had fantastic amenities and the room was extremely clean, and the beds were plush and relaxing. The atmosphere of the hotel was quiet and understated and was an oasis of calm during the hectic Chuseok weekend. Every single staff member I met at the hotel only added to how positive my experience was. I would love to return here during my next visit to Seoul. I highly recommend this hotel for understated luxury.

For the second year in a row, I was able to stay at the Westin Josun from September 11-15 due to a work conference, and this property continues to dazzle from the guest services, restaurants on site, the beautiful lobby, the exquisite spa/gym, and the amazing hotel rooms. The Westin Josun is near the heartbeat of Myeongdong, but yet, just far enough away from the crowds of the hustle and bustle shopping district. The hotel sits on an exclusive hillside where you feel the peace and calm. I am always impressed with the floor general, Jason Yang, who’s professionalism, unbelievable hospitality and attention to detail is the best I’ve ever seen at any Marriott brand properties. We’re always delighted to see Mr. Yang. His team at the front desk, concierge and parking are absolutely the most well trained. A very special thanks to Jasmine Chung and Ethan Huang for their warm hospitality at check-in on 9/11 when we arrived at 4:00 am. When our room was ready, the junior suite was beautifully decorated, with stunning views of Seoul in all its glory! The executive lounge for elite members also had stunning views with a terrific selection for breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres/alcohol. A big thanks to Mr. Bumkoo Kang for ensuring our evenings there had a very special welcome. Like last year, we just loved Aria. The breakfast buffet is arguably the highest quality of ingredients compared to other 5 star hotels with expansive choices that can make one dizzy. It was enjoyable to be flustered with so many choices :-). I would be remiss not to give big shoutouts to the Aria team, starting with the hard working manager, Jay Park, along with his all-stars of Yu Jeong Kim, Sung Tae Lim, Ji Hyun Lee, Kang Hyuk Seo, Gung Woo Jang, Hyun Soo Kim, Yoo Jin Yeo, Hae Un Lee, Hyun Ki Lee, Jae Won Choi, and the amazing team of Baristas, Hyerin and Ahra, making our delicious Lattes every morning. Such an amazing group of people! My only disappointment I had was leaving the Westin Josun for another Marriott affiliated hotel in Japan. There was just no comparison. THANK YOU Westin Josun. Your are still……. the best of the best.

The best part of the hotel is the location. It’s walking distance from Myeongdong so lot of shopping, street markets, eating options and convenience stores. The hotel concierge especially Michael and PingKo, were super helpful. They cheerfully helped in cutting and then packing a large artwork we bought from the flea market. Gestures like these is what you remember.

Visited Seoul for the first time last week and stayed at The Westin Josun Seoul for six nights. And it was nothing short of impeccable. A housekeeper notices that you wear glasses and gifts you with an elegantly designed lens cloth while you are out. A concierge team is aware of your deep affinity for the local heritage and goes out of their way to secure an eleventh-hour exception from a cultural center long after ticket sales has closed. Hotel staff that gives you the same degree of attention and warm service while busy hosting foreign dignitaries during a diplomatic summit. One would think these things only happen in dramas or movies. But no. It happens in The Westin Josun Seoul. If you want to treat yourself to luxury right in the heart of Seoul, free from typical five-star pretension, I encourage you to stay at The Westin Josun Seoul and experience their warm hospitality.

We recently stayed at The Westin Chosun Seoul, and I have to give special recognition to Wendy Kim at the front desk, who made our check-in experience truly memorable. As Marriott Bonvoy members, we were impressed by how thoroughly she walked us through the hotel’s amenities and took the time to ensure we received all the perks available to us as members. Her attention to detail and genuine warmth set the tone for our entire stay. Beyond Wendy’s excellent service, we found the overall level of hospitality throughout the hotel to be exceptional — nearly every staff member we interacted with was attentive, professional, and courteous, including those at the club lounge, the gym, and the pool. It’s clear that The Westin Chosun Seoul takes staff training and guest experience seriously. We left our stay very satisfied and would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler, especially fellow Marriott members looking for a top-notch experience in Seoul.
