The Sevillian sun is part of the design scheme at Hospes las Casas del Rey de Baeza. A cobblestoned courtyard is flooded by light, prompting leafy vines to creep up whitewashed columns. The hotel blends Arabic and European design elements and incorporates the ochres and reds of southern Spain’s bullrings. On the roof, a swimming pool rimmed with aloe plants makes for a cool respite, as do the spacious rooms – slate floors, sisal rugs and cast-iron bed frames evoke the feel of a chic apartment.

What a truly wonderful hotel - beautiful rooms, excellent staff and fabulous roof top pool and bar. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved it.

We stayed at this welcoming, calm property for one night after a hectic weekend of attending the Feria de Abril and a Real Betis football match in a different part of the city. Even though we walked from our previous property with our carry-ons, we were greeted warmly by Señors Juan and Cris in the forecourt and quickly checked in. The rooms (we had two - one for the parents and one for the adult kid - it is hard to make award bookings for three in Europe) were impeccably clean and well-appointed, and the staff always available for any question or concern. They are true professionals - more than capable, understated, and kind. The property is very close to a well-appointed Carrefour mini market, Casa de Pilatos, and Convento de San Leandro. It is a lovely and fun walk to/from Las Setas/Parasol Metropol. The neighborhood is enchanting with narrow, ancient streets. The baskets of fresh oranges were a nice touch. If points and/or budget allows, I will spend more time at Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza again one day.

It had been 5 years since we were here, and my last review gave them all 5 stars. This visit was even better! (So consider this a 6-star review) It is a breath of fresh air from the minute you step inside. The staff speak several languages - check-in is personal and quick, you can even see the beautifully designed restaurant and courtyard from this vantage point. The rooms have been upgraded and are tastefully decorated. We had a room with a bathtub, which made it a bit larger. The bed was luxurious (and I am speaking from having been in Spain for 2 weeks by this point - having slept on some fairly uncomfortable sponge-type mattresses). Don't forget to go up to the roof to see the pool area and bar. It is in a great location for walking to the many restaurants, bars, shopping, and squares. It is my favorite hotel in all of Spain. NOTE: as others have mentioned, do not drive here; the streets barely accommodate pedestrians and parking is VERY limited at the hotel.

An excellent hotel. An old house beautiful renovated, but preserving the old times atmosphere. Kind staff at the reception desk. Great room. Clean and relaxing. Excellent breakfast. Location is very good, pretty close to main Seville attraction. We had lunch once and we had to wait as a lady told us that we had no reservation. Restaurant was empty. And it remained almost empty till we left at 3 p.m. This is our only complaint. In restaurant food was excellent. Wine selection great. We will definitely return.

Great room that was large and very comfortable. Stay was attentive and professional. Restaurant food was excellent too - we had breakfasts and dinners at the hotel! We really enjoyed our two night stay and I would highlyrecommend this property!!!
