Where the ancient squarely meets the modern, and western reality blends with eastern fantasy, China is an enchanting land offering among the most vibrant enclaves on earth. While it's easy to lose yourself in its and fascinating history, the country's contemporary face is equally enthralling. Located along the famed Huangpu River, Pudong Shangri-La lives up to its luxury reputation in personalized service, modern amenities, the city's most spacious guestrooms, and breathtaking views of Shanghai's legendary waterfront. Brilliant examples of French and British architecture remain in the old French Concession. For glimpses of what the country was like thousands of years ago, visit the Old Chinese City. At The Shanghai Museum, the bronze collection is reputedly the best in the world.

Stayed for 3 nights and took advantage of the Horizon Club. We arrived after 9pm and asked to use the lounge check in, they didn’t understand what we meant but we got there eventually. We were quickly checked in and had a drink in the lounge. The lounge is quite large and has beautiful views over the city and the Bund. The room had everything we needed, bed was comfy, bathroom had good water pressure. We opted for breakfast downstairs in the main restaurant as they had more options than the lounge. The breakfast was delicious and lots of variety. The Christmas decorations were beautiful. My only complaint was after we’d been out for the day since 6.30 and not getting back until 11pm we arrived to find the shower gel hadn’t been filled up, fully appreciating that mistakes happen but it really shouldn’t in a hotel of this quality and I don’t expect to shower using shampoo after a long day.

The Shangri-la Brand never disappoint me when I travel either for business or leisure. This Pudong Shangri-La property in Shanghai is no exception. Check-in and check-out were handled smoothly. Room is clean and all facilities (e.g. electric curtain) are in good order. When visiting Shanghai, it is always recommended to stay in a room with views of the world-famous historical Bund Area.

If you like the view of the bund, this is the hotel to stay at. Have stay at this hotel many times over the years and have continued to live up to its high standards for the Shangri-La brand.

This was a wonderful place to stay as it had restaurants to pick from, it was conveniently located and there were two malls close by. Tried the buffet breakfast and it had a vast array of choices. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious.

Oh my god, I celebrated my birthday at this hotel and it was unforgettable. They prepared everything so beautifully for me. When I walked into the room, I genuinely felt like I had gone back 30 years — like I was a 10-year-old little girl again. It was phenomenal. The room was stunning, and the view was just wow. The dining, food, and room service were all very good, and the staff were extremely knowledgeable and attentive. And honestly, the location feels like one of the best spots in all of Shanghai.
