The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong

As you would expect, the service was great, and the room was luxurious. Service was top-notch, with a great rooftop bar view of the Pearl Tower; there's usually a queue to gain access, which is free for guests. If you want a table, reserve well in advance, as it is a busy spot. We had a club room with a reasonable variety of food, and it never really got too busy. The staff were also great. Good swimming pool and sauna in the changing rooms.

The view from the room at the 51st floor towards the skycrappers nearby at Lujiazui and the outdoor view at the Bund at the top floor Flair bar were stunning and beautiful, especially with all the older buildings on the other side of the Bund lit up at night. The room we stayed at was completely quiet and we had excellent sleep for all the nights we stayed. Amenities in the room and bathroom were excellent. Everything was well maintained and clean. The team of staff handling our restaurants reservation requests were cordial and quick in response, esepcially when we had to reschedule the trip one day before our supposed arrival date. Food choice for breakfast was vast and quality was high. The restaurant was quite full during breakfast so if guests would like to be seated nearer to the windows for better views it is better to head there earlier. Other than the high-end IFC mall next to the hotel, other malls nearby offer a wide range of F&B, entertainment and relaxation choices. All in all we had another great stay with the Ritz Carlton brand of hotels. Next when I visit I would hope that they offer a bit more choices for food and wines at the lounge.

Extraordinary room with fantastic service and every detail covered. This is what a 5 star hotel looks like. Daily butler and clothing cleaned, shoes polished. Will stay here again on my next trip

We love to travel and have been to many Ritz Carlton properties, but this was one of our best visits ever. Stayed for a week just before the Chinese New Year, and this property met all our expectations and then some. We splurged on one of the top view suites and were glad we did. The view of the Bund and river at night was dazzling. Shout out to Mike at the concierge desk who REALLY went way out of his way to hook us up with some local indoor pickleball that turned out to be a great experience in itself. Not a knock to any of the other RC properties, but the breakfast and dinners in the club lounge were the best anywhere. It wasn’t just a snack, it was a full on meal with outstanding selections and very friendly staff. Hope to visit again in the future with our kids! Highly recommend.
