Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen

Lovely hotel and amazing staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Stayed here for 9 or 10 days on business and cannot fault it. The tone was set even before arrival. I had booked a club room and I received pre-arrival welcome messages on WhatsApp from the club lounge manager, Max. On check in, my colleague and I were directed to the club lounge reception, where we met Max for the first time. She was amazing ; so welcoming, friendly and professional. She checked us in and offered a drink - the cold beer was very welcome after such a long period of travel from the UK. From that moment, everything was fantastic. Max personally showed us to our rooms and explained everything we needed to know and also highlighted the fact that she had allocated rooms with great views of the city. The hotel really can be classed as five star, as you would expect of a Four Seasons. It is modern and comfortable with an air of luxury throughout. My room was a great size, with a separate dining area and huge bathroom. It was beautifully decorated and appointed. The gym, spa and pool area were great - again, with the highest standards. It was all modern, clean and well looked after, with plenty of equipment in the gym. The main restaurant was large and again, exceptional quality, with a huge range of hot and cold food for breakfast. All other areas, from reception, to the bars and restaurants were fantastic and every member of staff we encountered were incredibly happy, friendly, polite, professional and helpful. However, the standout for us was the club lounge. Max and her staff, Miley, Cecilia, Rica, lynsey, Carrie, Tinsely, Sophia, Ginny looked after us every day and always welcomed us by our names (as they did with everyone and I can't quite believe how they could remember everyone!) They could not do enough for us and their service was fantastic. The lounge is a real highlight. It's large, so never feels too busy, it has plenty of comfortable seating and tables and has great views over the city. A smaller buffet breakfast is served there in the morning and drinks and snacks are on offer all day from 10am until 11pm, including a selection of beer and wine. Afternoon tea is served from around 3pm - 5pm, which includes the traditional sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea. Happy hour (two hours) starts at 6pm, when more substantial food offerings are brought out, all of which are really good, together with a large selection of alcoholic spirits. The club rooms are well worth paying for, considering the benefits of the lounge. Again though, I have to reiterate the amazing staff there, who made each visit even more memorable. Even though it is located in what can be considered a business district, there are plenty of bars, restaurants and a huge shopping centre within a short walk. It is also mere minutes walk from the huge metro station, with links all over the city and beyond. Overall, an exceptional stay in a fantastic hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Pretty hotel, too much $$ for the awful customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Completely awful customer service, especially for a Four Seasons / this tier of a hotel. Cancelled a trip for medical reasons and they wouldn't simply move the date of my reservation, something that I've done with many hotels before, and which even any cheap motel can even do in their systems. Worse, I had to first endure a whole TEN DAYS of calls and emails with them and my credit card company where they'd indicated repeatedly to both me and the travel agent that if we just jumped through one hoop after another, they would do it. Including messages from them where they'd email me at midnight in the US saying "do this in the next hour or 2 or we'll charge you fees". And then never would, ultimately forcing me to just cancel (and even fighting me on that). Killed my desire to ever stay in a Four Seasons again, but I've had great experiences at other locations...so I'd at least just advise people to stay away from THIS hotel. Too much $$ to justify this awful customer service.

Outstanding service and the breakfast is one of the best!

Me and my husband stayed for 3 nights. We love our room and location of the hotel. The room is very spacious and clean. All the staff we encounter are very helpful. It’s also very close to many local food options. The breakfast option in the was absolutely amazing.
