Stepping through the grand arched entrance of the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor, one is immediately transported to a bygone era of colonial splendor. The hotel's imposing façade, with its white pillars and red-tiled roof, stands as a testament to the region's rich heritage, evoking images of a time when explorers and dignitaries alike sought refuge in its luxurious embrace. As you wander the hotel's lush, palm-lined gardens, the soft murmur of a century-old fountain mingles with the distant calls of exotic birds, creating a serene oasis that seems to slow the passage of time. The interiors of the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor are a harmonious blend of classic elegance and modern comforts. Ornate wooden furnishings, intricate wall carvings, and gleaming chandeliers adorn the grand lobby, while the guest rooms offer a haven of tranquility, with plush bedding, expansive windows, and private balconies that overlook the hotel's sparkling pool and verdant gardens. It is in these intimate spaces that the true magic of the Raffles experience unfolds, where guests can indulge in the hotel's renowned hospitality and lose themselves in the timeless allure of this extraordinary place.

Took my parents to have dinner at 1932 during father's day. The food was great but what really made it special was the people there. Everyone was welcoming, considerate and made it comfortable for us. Not to mention the extra step they took to surprise my dad with a cake.

We chose this hotel as we have stayed at Raffles Singapore three times, twice before it was refurbished & the once after. This hotel is reminiscent of the ‘old’ Raffles Singapore with its beautiful teak flooring and similar old fashioned marble bathroom although this one was much smaller, massive beds and extremely comfortable. They also had an incredibly old wooden elevator with open metal doors which is apparently the oldest lift in Indochina ! The staff are very attentive and pleasant. The outside area is nice to wonder around but the pool steals the show it’s wonderful with plenty of loungers to relax on. This is an ideal place to stay when visiting Angkor Wat and after a 4am alarm call and a 5am pick up to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat the breakfast box is a fantastic surprise as it’s not your usual box but in fact a rucksack containing yoghurt, pastries, croissants, jam, orange juice & flasks of tea which we enjoyed sitting in peace and tranquility by a lake a short drive from the temple complex. A 4 star was given only for the reason that upon our return around 11.45am after visiting Angkor Wat we could not access our room for a much needed shower as housekeeping were still cleaning our room, we politely waited for around 20 to 30 minutes and eventually had to ask them to come back to finish it after we had showered and got changed. Also ideally located as not far to get a tuk tuk into the town to enjoy an evening out which was great fun.

Staying at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor during Cambodia’s rainy season brings a heightened sense of the comfort it was originally designed to offer—a sanctuary for a select few. In recent years, I’ve stayed at heritage hotels across the world. Against the relentless tide of time, these establishments strive to preserve the grace of a bygone era. Time has endowed them not only with enduring reputations and lasting service standards, but also with the weight of history—they become microcosms of a city, and sometimes even of a nation’s modern journey. For Siem Reap, and indeed for the golden age of Cambodia itself, its story finds a quiet home at Raffles. In the long shadows of the past, a different way of life is preserved here. If you wish to experience the French elegance of Cambodia’s golden era while in Siem Reap, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor is an essential stop along your journey. Facilities: Impeccable. The rooms feel freshly refurbished, and a soothing scent of lemongrass drifts through every corridor. Despite the renovations, the hotel retains its timeless French charm. Service: The staff are attentive and unfailingly courteous. Nearly everyone I encountered greeted me by name. The service strikes just the right balance—never intrusive, but always present the moment you need something. Dining: One of the highlights is the inclusion of champagne at breakfast. We also enjoyed a traditional Khmer tasting menu at Restaurant 1932. The sommelier was exceptional—each pairing was thoughtful and pitch-perfect. I can still recall the delicate flavor of banana blossom.

Stunning hotel with excellent service and most beautiful swimming pool and gardens, absolutely loved our 3 night stay. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Angkor Wat as an oasis to retreat and recharge. The food and drinks were delicious and staff so incredibly helpful and friendly. Highlight of my stay was also the free yoga class offered by hotel, doing yoga in such a beautiful garden is a truly magical experience.

Gorgeous hotel, staff were really friendly and so many nice little touches that made this stand out as a genuine 5 star experience. It did feel like there was a bit of a push for dining at the hotel, but aside from that a lovely stay - the Elephant Bar and piano player in the lobby lounge were delightful, the pool (and pool staff) really good, I loved the pool temperature (warm) but my husband would have preferred colder to properly cool down from the heat, which was pretty sweltering while we were in Siem Reap. Would definitely stay here again and as other reviews have said, if you can stay for at least two full days to split the temple visits and hotel relaxation.
