I wasn’t sure about visiting Cambodia but it was a bucket list trip for my partner. What a pleasant surprise. We stayed in Ruffles Hotel d’Angkor. This amazing hotel was fantastic. It has the biggest and best pool I’ve ever seen. The rooms were huge, with 2 separate bathrooms. One with a toilet, sink and bath, the other with a sink and huge walk in shower. Every day, the staff left goodies in our sitting room and printed stories on our pillows in the evening turn down. The attention to detail was 5* and such friendly staff, made it one of the best hotel stays ever. Shout out to Ly at the Pool Bar. Such a lovely young man who spoke very good English. He went above and beyond every single day, looking after us, knowing what we liked and what we didn’t. He is an asset to the hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

A beautiful historic hotel and a very special family stay in Siem Reap
We had such a wonderful stay at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor. It’s one of those hotels where you really feel the history the moment you arrive. The hotel first opened in 1932 and still carries that sense of old-world travel; wide corridors, elegant shutters and beautiful gardens. We were travelling as a family with our daughter, and the team made her feel so welcome. She absolutely loved the little in-room tent that had been set up for her, and one evening the butler even sent up cupcakes as a surprise, which completely made her day. One thing we particularly enjoyed was the complimentary programme of experiences offered by the hotel. We tried a few of them, including learning the art of lotus flower folding, which was surprisingly relaxing, and a cocktail-making session with the bartender, where we made an Angkor Sling. There are also other activities like tennis and cultural experiences around the hotel. After early mornings exploring the temples, coming back to the hotel pool is incredibly refreshing in the afternoons, and the gardens make the whole place feel like a sanctuary. We also loved afternoon tea in the Conservatory. The Champagne breakfast each morning was another highlight, along with a wide range of dishes made to order. Siem Reap has many beautiful hotels, but this one feels particularly special because of its history and character. For us, it struck the perfect balance of heritage, atmosphere and genuine warmth for families. We can’t wait to return!
