Just half a mile from Siem Reap’s town center, Sala Lodges are a beautiful, authentic immersion into Cambodian culture. Each lodge has a story. “Muoy,” known as the house with many roofs, came from Ta Prom village, where its carpenter embellished it with ornate, heartfelt details before he and his family moved away. The master bedroom now shimmers with patinaed furniture from India, a country that strongly influenced Khmer culture. “Dop Pi” belonged to Madame Ro Hong, a 70-year-old descendant of Chinese traders.

We stayed at Sala lodges for 5 nights to begin our travels around Cambodia and we were so sad to go. It is a peaceful, sanctury away from siem reap centre but easily walkable or 3 dollars for a Tuk Tuk organised by the hotel. We did some amazing trips to the countryside and Ankor wat which were organised by the hotel, they were costly but fabulous - our guide was brilliant and we even got cold towels and a packed breakfast which was such a wonderful touch! The rooms were absolutely stunning and huge, amazing bathroom too and spotless. The lovely staff did a turndown service each evening which was so cute - leaving some thoughtful little gifts too. Breakfast one of the best ever, the highlight was each day they gave a different coloured juice healthy juice, which the menu explains all the benefits of. Delicious eggs, fruit and pastries plus such lovely coffee and I even loved the pottery & design of all the serving plates & bowls etc. The staff were smiley, kind and went above and beyond - they always remembered who we were and what were up to. I also want to shout out to the wonderful security guard who made us fresh coffees to take to our Ankor wat sunrise tour, it was so kind of him. We chilled by the pool lots which was mainly empty which surprised us, was a treat to have the area to ourselves and lovely little pool area. We loved it here and will be back soon I hope thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay and being so kind and helpful!

From the moment we arrived at Sala Lodges, we were absolutely enchanted. Despite our late evening arrival, several staff members were waiting to greet us with warm smiles, cool towels, and refreshing drinks — such a thoughtful welcome after a long journey. The property itself is stunning. The individual, traditional Cambodian houses are beautifully designed and surrounded by lush, perfectly maintained gardens. Our room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with an excellent mattress and charming details everywhere — from fresh flowers to the unique handcrafted door keys. Sala Lodges feels like a true sanctuary. We loved relaxing by the pool and waking up each morning to the sounds of birds and roosters — a peaceful retreat that feels worlds away, yet is just minutes from Siem Reap’s most famous temples. The staff are exceptional — warm, professional, and genuinely caring. They made us feel completely at home and treated us like family throughout our stay. The restaurant also deserves special praise for its delicious dishes, all beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients. We can’t thank the Sala Lodges team enough for creating such a memorable experience. Our stay was nothing short of amazing, and we can’t wait to return!

The Sala Lodges team embody hospitality and can be role models for 'how to do it' going beyond the fundamentals, and finding and executing the meaningful small touches, whether that be something physical as a gift/treat, or to the personalised service and recognition as individual guests. This isn't achieved by many hotel or hospitality organisations, but Sala Lodges achieve what it means to be hospitable. We experienced the balance of highly professional, but equally kind, warm and focused service from every team member. No exception.

The accommodations at Sala Lodges are beautifully unique. A visitor will not lack for comfort or amenities in the home of their choice. Being greeted each time I returned from the day's activities with a cool cloth and refreshing drink was just one of the many gracious and accommodating services I experienced. There is no question that Sala Lodges will be my chosen spot in Siem Reap when I return.
