About the Hotel

A palace born from a Renaissance-era portico, right on a mineral spring. A tribute to the regenerating power of thermal waters. The portico, commissioned by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de’ Medici, lies in the heart of the Val d’Orcia, amid rolling hills, cypress woods and small churches. The spectacular panoramic pools as well as the ones used for treatments and relaxation are filled with the natural heat of the thermal springs. Fonteverde is a jewel and a timeless haven where you can discover a new dimension of well-being and reach a higher level of harmony with the Equilibrium method. Relax at our resort and spa in Tuscany, where the unmistakable style of Italian hospitality meets the essence of pure wellness.

Relaxing start to a family vacation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Great location, great rooms, staff quick on their feet, spa area and amenities very good and clean. Good local restaurants close to hotel great Italian ambiance, lunch Resturant at the hotel however isn’t serving food that matches the hotel which is a shame, we had cold lasagne served twice and very dry chicken potato’s soft and over cooked, service by the pool could also be upped a bit. We eat out every night, All in all a good experience- even though the lunch didn’t live up to the hotel’s overall performance.

Disappointed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The rooms are really small. The pools seem to be filled with moss and not well maintained. Spa is overpriced and the service strictly ordinary. They charge an extra fee besides the tax without your approval. A tip is a discretion, not a compulsion which they refused to remove from the bill.

Does any one at the Fonteverde care, other than Alessandra???

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

It is difficult to know where to start. I say I visited in July, that was my intention. I sent the hotel a request via their website. No response. I sent a further email chasing. This did get a generic response, but answered none of the questions i had asked, so immediately replied. No response. I contacted the manager Massimo Dxxxx via LinkedIn, he opened my contact request but did not reply. I contacted the MD of the group, Mr Carxxxxxx and sent a message to IHC group via their info@ address. No response. A lady called Alessandra Fxxxxx did respond, she seemed genuinely disappointed with the hotels lack of response, I have no doubt that had she been involved from the start, the outcome would have been different. She was excellent, the rest of it was quite frankly unbelievable. Personally I wouldn’t bother contacting this hotel group as few of them seem to care, unless you are lucky enough to get hold of Alessandra…… But I would do yourself a favour, and stay in Cetona or Città Della Pieve, it will be less expensive, and better located. Especially Cetona. It’s stunning😊

Large resort - we preferred other places

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Honestly, go somewhere smaller. There are so many incredible more bouroque places around in Tuscany. This is a large resort. It’s not a 5*, 4*. Many pools - some of which are very tired and need freshening up. Incredibly expensive bar. Drinks by the pool very expensive - €20 Aperol in a paper cup. Bathrooms tired. Can imagine it was amazing when it opened - but there are far nicer more boutique places around that we preferred. To be balanced; there’s a free car service which takes you to the nearby town. The entrance is grand. Breakfast is amazing and service at breakfast very good.

Being ignored

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Despite several emails, I have yet to receive a response from the hotel regarding my upcoming booking. I see that other guests have raised similar concerns, which is disappointing. For a five-star hotel, this level of communication is unacceptable and falls well below expectations.
