About the Hotel

A palace born from a Renaissance-era portico, right on a mineral spring. A tribute to the regenerating power of thermal waters. The portico, commissioned by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de’ Medici, lies in the heart of the Val d’Orcia, amid rolling hills, cypress woods and small churches. The spectacular panoramic pools as well as the ones used for treatments and relaxation are filled with the natural heat of the thermal springs. Fonteverde is a jewel and a timeless haven where you can discover a new dimension of well-being and reach a higher level of harmony with the Equilibrium method. Relax at our resort and spa in Tuscany, where the unmistakable style of Italian hospitality meets the essence of pure wellness.

Reviews for Fonteverde

Large resort - we preferred other places

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Honestly, go somewhere smaller. There are so many incredible more bouroque places around in Tuscany. This is a large resort. It’s not a 5*, 4*. Many pools - some of which are very tired and need freshening up. Incredibly expensive bar. Drinks by the pool very expensive - €20 Aperol in a paper cup. Bathrooms tired. Can imagine it was amazing when it opened - but there are far nicer more boutique places around that we preferred. To be balanced; there’s a free car service which takes you to the nearby town. The entrance is grand. Breakfast is amazing and service at breakfast very good.

Being ignored

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Despite several emails, I have yet to receive a response from the hotel regarding my upcoming booking. I see that other guests have raised similar concerns, which is disappointing. For a five-star hotel, this level of communication is unacceptable and falls well below expectations.

Amazing views and hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The hotel is secluded and the view from anywhere on the property is like a beautiful painting of an ancient Italian landscape. The views and resort is amazing. The hotel room was nice and the food was satisfying. Being able to spend time in the various pools were great as well as the massage. I would definitely recommend the hotel but keep in mind that there are no close restaurants available so plan on eating at the hotel.

Fonteverde Spa Hotel – A Beautiful Stay with One Early Bump

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Our recent stay at Fonteverde Spa Hotel was, overall, a truly wonderful experience, and one we’ll absolutely repeat. From the moment we arrived (once things got moving), the setting itself is breathtaking. The thermal pools are simply outstanding, peaceful, restorative, and exactly what you hope for when escaping to Tuscany. The spa facilities are exceptional, and by the time we left, we genuinely felt reenergised. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a stunning room, which made the stay even more special. The food was excellent throughout, and while drinks are on the pricier side, they were consistently top quality, so no real complaints there. A special mention must go to Cassey, who was superb from start to finish. Warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, he turned our experience around completely after a difficult arrival and is a real credit to the hotel. Unfortunately, our first impression wasn’t as positive. After a two-hour drive from Florence, we arrived excited, only to be met with a booking issue via Trivago. While these things happen, the handling of the situation by a member of staff, Ann-Marie, was disappointing. The approach felt abrupt and lacking in empathy, especially given the circumstances. We were told to resolve the issue ourselves, without reassurance, assistance, or even the offer of a drink after our journey. It wasn’t the welcome we expected and felt unnecessarily cold. Thankfully, after a couple of hours resolving the issue, things improved dramatically, particularly once Cassey stepped in. From that point on, the service, atmosphere, and overall experience were everything we had hoped for. The team across the spa and hotel were accommodating and professional, and the entire place lives up to its reputation. We would absolutely return and plan to, this time with family. A fantastic destination, made memorable for all the right reasons… once we got past the front desk.
