Reviews for OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort

Great Outrigger Fiji 8 night visit with family of 13!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

There was 13 of us ranging from 5 y/o to 80 y/o. Check in was nice with a cool towel and cool beverage to welcome you at reception. My family and I (6 of us) booked the two bedroom plantation bure (rooms 461 and 462) and it was PERFECT. A little secluded but we were very close to the pool area and Baravi restaurant. Hammocks on the porches! There is a middle room, kind of a living area that our teenage son slept in. He appreciated the privacy. One shower had a tub which was good for our 5 y/o, the other was walk in which was ideal for my mother in law with knee issues. One bedroom had a king with a pull out sofabed and the walk in shower. The other had two queen beds and the shower tub combo. Both rooms have armoires/closets, safes, mini fridges, tea kettles, and some sort of coffee pod maker that I could never figure out. It was stocked with plenty of tea choices, instant coffee packets, coffee pods. We received two big bottles of water per bedroom per day. We also received refreshments/beverages midday everyday and a nightcap with a pastry every night along with turndown service. FYI you also can have the butler do your laundry once during your stay which came in handy for us. Our butler was very attentive and even brought a massive slice of chocolate cake with a handwritten card for my husband's birthday! The pool area is great for kids of all ages. Shallow area for the littles, deeper pool for water polo, water slide and a huge inflatable which seemed to be the favorite. Baravi restaurant and bar is right next to the pool which is convenient, lots of waiters ready to take your order. Baravi had good lunch and dinner choices like the club sandwich and their tuna poke salad and many others. The fries are bomb!! Delicious New Zealand ice cream stand next to the pool. They have lots of activities available like diy tie dye shirts for kids, volleyball, fire walking/Kava ceremony etc. There's a very nice kids club that we did not use. Breakfast Buffet was basically the same food each day but a good assortment of things. For buffer dinner it was a different theme like Oriental, Mexican, Mediterranean, Carvery and BBQ, Seafood. Being from Southern California I can definitely tell you to skip Mexican buffet night, not Mexican at all. Maybe make a reservation at one of the other restaurants for that night. We did eat dinner at Sundowners twice and I loved the prawns and tuna plate. Hubby really liked the bbq pork ribs. The banana sundae was also delicious. On Sunday night they have fire dancers on the beach right outside of Sundowners and I would recommend getting reservations for 7pm as the show starts at 7:30. Request beachside seating for good viewing. Thanks to Jonathan (a waiter) for recommending and setting that dinner up for us :D My sister in laws and I visited Bebe Spa and it was AMAZIIIIIING!!!! You gotta visit it. You are taken by club car right across the road from the resort, up the hill to an amazing lobby where you wait for your services while you are give some tea and a peppermint scented wet towel. I got a facial and everyone is provided a locker, robe, slippers. You're taken to your room where there is an amazing view of the island while you get a foot bath with a wonderful massage. Facial was great as well. We all met up at the lobby again where they give you some water and fruit before your departure. We chose to go upstairs and visit the lounge (check the hours of operation though) and had a cocktail with the most amazing view. Feels like you're looking down from the sky. We had two family members that became ill and it was very nice to have an in house doctor available from 9a-11a from Mon-Fri at the resort. Dr. Lal even made a 'house call' for my mother in law and quickly diagnosed her and had medication on hand for her to start on as soon as possible. He was very helpful and professional and we were so glad to have him available. The resort offers roundtrip guest transportation to Sigatoka for shopping every day at 10am Monday through Saturday only. You get to shop until noon and then the driver picks you up to return to the resort. Good for last minute souvenir shopping needs as they drop you off in front of Jack's which has. a good assortment. Also visit Tappoo for gifts. I do want to mention that my family and I did get the all inclusive beverage and food package for the entire stay. I think it's worth it if you spend most of your time at the resort and like to drink. If you'll be busy doing tours etc. then you have the option of buying food vouchers day to day, or don't even bother and pay at each restaurant as you go. It was convenient having the all inclusive food and beverage since we had a big group with a big age range BUT not all drinks are included, INCLUDING certain water. Yes, water.... Fiji water bottles will be an extra charge, premium liquors or cocktails are also extra. Our biggest complaint was about the water situation. At one dinner my sister in law said she was charged for excessive water consumption (?) It was the type of water included in the package but apparently she went over her limit on ordering that water during that dinner. I don't know, maybe it's a Fiji thing. Other than that, the staff are all very sweet and make an effort to remember your name. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience.

Great resort for families

Resort was great, rooms were clean and housekeeper was awesome each day! Cocktail menu could do with an update, perhaps less sugary with more juice options! But otherwise great!

Great stay, kids loved it. We'll be back. My daughter especially loved getting her hair braided by Josivini at the hair braiding Bure, Poolside.
