OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort

We travelled as a family 2 Adults and 2 children ages 7 & 5. Over the years we have stayed at many of Fijis resorts both along the coral coast and on Denarau Island. This was our first visit to the Outrigger and I'm confident to say that this will now be our go to resort moving forward. From the moment we arrived every need was taken care of by the attentive and friendly staff. Check in process was smooth, we opted for the all inclusive which was explained clearly and great value for money. We stayed in a Plantation Bure. The room was fantastic. It would have the be the cleanest room i have stayed in on all of my trips to Fiji over the years. Ceiling fans and air con provided great comfort. The kids loved the hammock swing on the front deck. The housekeeping and talai butler service were both super impressive with complimentary wine and canapes every day at 5pm and an evening turndown service while we were out for dinner so the room was clean and ready for us to relax after returning. We had a relaxing time by both the main pool and adults only pool when the kids were enjoying the kids club sessions. The kids loved the main pool with its water slide and inflatable jumping castle. We ate at all the restaurants and couldn't fault the food and drinks. The sundowner was our favorite dinner spot and we loved the live acoustic music every night. Pre and post dinner drinks at the reef cocktail lounge are a must, we were warmly greeted by Meke who took fantastic care of us and gave us plenty of laughs. We had a couples spa package treatment at Bebe Spa, amazing massage with some of the best views in Fiji. And door to door service by the resorts buggy driver! Overall we had a fantastic, relaxing week with great options for both adults and kids and we will most certainly be returning in the not so distant future.

Service was impersonal and mediocre. Room is fine, but all the “extras” you get for the suite are pretty standard for everyone else as well. We rented 5 rooms, and they messed up the bill for all 5 rooms, so check your final bill closely. With all the hype about Fijian hospitality, we really expected more. However, front desk and GM were very rude. The beach also wasn’t a great beach. Food was also just ok. For the premium you pay, we were expecting a lot more. We will not be returning.

Excellent hotel. It is a family oriented hotel so a lot of children and the buffet gets busy. There were only two of us and my daughter is 17. You can only use the 'adult only' pool from 18 so we were a bit stuck in limbo. We used the spa a lot which was excellent for massage and facial - lovely staff and lovely location however don't have a manicure (not the same standard as UK). The setting is beautiful (we had a lovely bure) and the kids we saw all seemed to having a great time. Accommodate is well proportioned, and clean. Despite the number of children the bure was quite however can't comment on noise levels in the larger accommodation hotel section. Lots of activities put on for children. Go to the frog race...it's a hoot! Food for excellent with good choices from buffet, mid range and more up market. Also strong Wifi.

Took our three grandchildren (18,14,11) for a memory making trip in August. 2nd time at the outrigger for us. Last time 12 years ago for our 40th anniversary. Could not fault it. Even better this time. Kids loved it. Weather a bit ordinary towards end of the week but no one was bored. Food excellent, Talai butler service wonderful, pool, bars, gardens and grounds all lovely. Bebe spa treatment was outstanding. Our pick for food was Ivi Restaurant and the delightful maître D, Jonathon. All the staff especially at the Kana buffet were wonderful and took the time to remember our names! How the heck do they do that? Our rooms were spotless and serviced daily. The nightly torch lighting along the paths by the enthusiastic warrior were a highlight at 6pm. Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Families, oldies, young couples, there’s something for everyone here. Do yourselves a favour and come You won’t regret it.

Everything was pretty good. Food slightly hit and miss. Staff wonderful! One thing that bothered me slightly was the over zealous garden maintenance. Hardly an insect in sight, clearly heavy reliance on chemicals. And few animals... one day we had a dying frog outside the apartment i imagine from relentless grass mowing and edge trimming. Might be good to consider the resort's green/sustainability credentials, especially given its big footprint. Outrigger could show leadership in this field.
