Reviews for Andaz Singapore

Great stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We loved this hotel. Great location, beautiful room and bathroom. Loved the free snacks and coffee. On a previous visit when I did not stay at the hotel, a tour guide took me to the 39th floor to see the view and I promised myself that one day I would come back to Singapore and stay at the Andes. Promise made, promise kept!

Choose a hotel which has had upgrades, not this one!

We booked the Andaz from the Chase Sapphire Edge collection to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Room 1: We checked in around 7pm and then quickly left for a dinner engagement, not really taking a look closely at the room given although it was not as appealing as I thought it would be. Then after returning to the room around 11pm, my wife and I started to question if this was really a 5 star hotel based on the marks on the walls, unpainted areas, stains on the couch, plenty of scuff marks on the floor and a very dull room over all with no real decor. At that time we decided to go speak with the registration but there was only one person available. When we showed her the pictures she didn't seem surprised and just said that she would change the room for us. She put us in another room on a lower floor. Room 2: As soon as we entered the second room (around 1am in the morning) the situation seemed about the same or worse and the lady asked me if it was ok. I immediately told her that it was not. She basically said that there was not much she could do as no managers were there and I would have to take it up with the manager in the morning. We made the most of it and by that time we were tired after a long flight so we just slept. When we woke up in the morning I ended up taking more pictures of the second room with a pretty bad looking floor with scratches everywhere, wall stains, and a dining table which looked like something out of a horror movie etc. We couldn't believe this is the type of room we get when booking an 'Edge' collection hotel. Room 3: In the morning I went and met with the manager and explained the situation in great detail including showing pictures to the manager. I also asked him to come and see the room. He said that he would change the room once again for me to another but at that point I was done with just any room and asked for a suite. Initially he declined and said they didn't have any available but then after I mentioned that I would call Chase and see what options I have he ended up calling our room and saying that a suite had become available and that he could move us there. The suite was in much better shape and at that point things improved for our 35th wedding anniversary. The manager (Ken NG) did go out of his way to make things right by providing a suite the next day and later to also booked us a luxury taxi back to the airport. He also said that the pictures I shared with him will be brought up with upper management to make sure they rectify situations like this. Somehow, I felt the hotel staff knew that the rooms are not up to par and need renovating as I didn't see the element of surprise with the people I spoke with.

Perfect stay

This hotel lived up to all our expectations. The rooms were beautiful with amazing view. Spotlessly clean and all animaties needed. Electric blackout curtains and blind towels, body lotion, shampoo & conditioner all provided and lovely quality, beds were really comfortable with quality bedding and pillows. The infinity pool was gorgeous and again spotless and really quiet with lovely changing facilities. Fantastic views. Rooftop bar was again fantastic with wonderful views of the city. Food was top quality and service could not be faulted. Nothing to complain about at all

Style from Hyatt group

Stayed in many hotels in Singapore over the years, but 1st time at this 8 year old hotel, i’m a devout marriott member for 3 deacdes, but will share the love and stay more at hyatt properties from now and aim to become a Globalist Check in was good, and staff was friendly and professional The room is nicely sized and designed, modern of course. Also come with Byredo amenities Gym medium sized and ok for me Wrote a seperate review for the breakfast/all day restaurant Location is good, just next to bugis junction if you need the supermarket or pharmacy Will update once i become a Globalist and see how the suite upgrades go

Hospitality Lost Over a Green Tea

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I loved the complimentary Japanese green tea in the minibar, but being told I’d be charged for another one was disappointing. For a hotel as premium as Andaz Singapore, this felt petty — a green tea shouldn’t cost you a returning guest. I am diabetic, so I couldn’t consume the other minibar drinks that contained sugar. The green tea was the only beverage I could enjoy, and when I called reception to request another, I was told rather curtly that it would be chargeable. I skipped breakfast and only ordered from in-room dining, where the options felt limited and repetitive. I declined the milk with my coffee and mentioned to the staff that I’m diabetic, yet no one followed up to check if I needed an alternative. Hotels in India, especially the Taj and Oberoi groups, handle such details beautifully — they note guest preferences and make you feel genuinely cared for. Sadly, that sense of attentiveness and warmth was missing here.
