We recently held our wedding banquet at JW Marriott. The team went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. A special shout-out to Rahmat, Eshan, Eugene, Chef Raymond, and his kitchen team. Special thanks to Chanel, who was with us throughout the journey and always so supportive of our requests. We are grateful to the entire team for making our special day stress-free.

JW Marriott South Beach executive lounge. from our very first night Phyllis at the executive lounge greeted and remembered our names. She was very attentive and also remembered our drinks. Always greeted us with a smile and very pleasant. Thank you Phyllis for making our stay even more wonderful.

This is a nice hotel with very nice staff and location is great with lots of eateries and restaurants nearby and shopping across the road. Rooms are clean but in need of updating and a bit on the small side. Housekeeping staff very thorough and room service excellent. The two pools are fabulous as is the executive lounge and food.

I must confess, when it comes to reviewing hotels, I tend to be more of a critic than a eulogist. However, our recent week-long stay at the Marriott South Beach compels me to offer a rather glowing appraisal. Whilst the iconic Marina Bay Sands is an obvious first port of call for the first-time visitor to Singapore, for the returning traveller, the Marriott presents itself as a remarkably well-balanced five-star establishment. As a family of three with a child of nursery school age, our priorities were threefold: a prime location with excellent accessibility, a commendable club lounge, and a decent view. Our five previous visits to Singapore had seen us exclusively at MBS and the Ritz-Carlton, so the prospect of the Marriott South Beach, which leans more towards a business hotel than a resort, initially gave us pause. Although the distinction between such categories has become increasingly blurred—as seen with chains like Westin, Pullman, and Le Méridien—one naturally harbours a slight apprehension when deviating from a purely holiday-oriented property. We stayed for seven nights from the last weekend of July in a Premier Club Room, number 1304. Arriving at 10 p.m., we checked in at the main reception and were immediately delighted. We discovered that Michi from the Guest Relations team had decorated a mirror in our room with a charming drawing of Bluey, our child's favourite character. This thoughtful welcome was accompanied by a blue balloon, a chocolate cake, and a dinosaur toy. Despite approaching its tenth anniversary, the hotel exudes a contemporary feel. The influence of its American counterparts is evident in the generous high ceilings and spacious layout, creating a wonderfully airy and pleasant atmosphere. The partial harbour view from our room further enhanced this sense of openness. Those with an interest in architecture and interior design will surely appreciate the meticulous planning, particularly the clever use of windows, mirrors, perspective, and light within the confines of a steel-framed high-rise. Furthermore, the hotel's location is superb. An MRT station is but a minute's walk away, and its position within the central business district ensures that securing a Grab or taxi is never an issue. The bell team were consistently proactive, arranging appropriately sized taxis based on our luggage and destination. Singapore's abundance of shopping malls can be overwhelming, so the proximity of Suntec City, located just across the road, is a significant advantage. From a tourist's perspective, it is a rather sensible choice, offering a good balance of price, manageable crowds, and a wide selection of shops. It also houses numerous mid-priced eateries favoured by locals and an indoor play area for children, making for a relaxed outing. For more budget-friendly options, Marina Square is easily accessible via a connecting bridge. A practical tip: while the National Gallery, Chijmes, and Raffles City appear close on a map, navigating Singapore's summer heat with a pushchair is challenging; I would strongly recommend taking a taxi. The Club Lounge sees a greater number of business guests during the week, with families becoming more prevalent as the weekend approaches. While it can be quite bustling, we never once had to wait for a table. Perhaps the greatest strength of a well-run business hotel is its ability to afford guests a comfortable sense of privacy and emotional distance. The true measure of its quality, however, lies in how it responds to specific, often unexpected, requests. In this regard, the Marriott team was exemplary. When our child bumped their forehead on a glass wardrobe handle, Vemal Moorthy and the front desk team promptly supplied an ice bag. Our request for a late check-out was graciously handled by Luna Kim and the Guest Relations Team. Fiona Gan kindly permitted us to remain in the lounge for an hour or two post-checkout, and Patrick Chan efficiently managed a change in our payment method. In each instance, the staff not only acted swiftly and professionally within their authority but also demonstrated a genuine desire to extend the utmost courtesy. It was all deeply impressive. So, would we return for our next summer holiday? It is ironic that two conflicting memories spring to mind: the utterly divine clotted cream served during the evening happy hour, and the wildly inconsistent omelettes at breakfast, whose quality depended entirely on the chef on duty. I also recall the superb afternoon tea juxtaposed with a rather lacklustre coffee selection. Nevertheless, while Singapore is home to many other fine hotels, if you possess even a modest appreciation for good wine, I would urge you to give the Marriott South Beach a try. I am quite certain you will not be disappointed.

This hotel is in an excellent location for seeing the sights in Singapore. Everything is a 25 min walk or a 8 min car ride away. I found the service at the breakfast to be lacking. I waited 20 mins for tea and despite asking for it twice, it never came. The man at the table next to us ordered a almond latte and it came incorrect three times. So I do not think the breakfast buffet is worth the upcharge. The gym is excellent and offers everything you need for strength and cardio. Overall we enjoyed our time at the JW Marriott
