Reviews for Mandarin Oriental, Singapore

The perfect wedding experience at Mandarin Oriental!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

We could not have asked for a more perfect venue and team to host our wedding than Mandarin Oriental, Singapore. From the very first interaction to the very last detail on the big day itself, the service was nothing short of stellar — attentive, professional, and deeply personal. Though on the pricier end, we honestly believe it was worth every cent. When we were considering venues, Mandarin Oriental stood out immediately thanks to Elena Ong (Director of Business Development). Elena anticipated challenges we hadn’t even thought of, and her proactive, thoughtful advice gave us the confidence to know we were in the best of hands. In the preparation leading up to the wedding day, she also showed incredible flexibility, helping us customise arrangements beyond the standard template to bring our dream wedding to life – including our very own ballroom dance floor. What really touched us was how her care extended beyond the wedding itself — Elena surprised us with thoughtful goodies after the big day, a gesture that went above and beyond her role and made us feel so personally celebrated. On the actual wedding journey, Letitia (Events Coordinator) was an absolute star. She handled every detail with positivity and grace, even when we threw last-minute requests her way. Her patience, calmness, and practical tips made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She also went out of her way to ensure the ballroom was available for us to practise our dance the day before the wedding, which meant the world to us. And on our final day after a two-night stay, she came personally to find us and say goodbye — such a thoughtful touch that left a lasting impression. We also want to commend Sathia (AV Manager), who ensured our ballroom dance showcase and best-dressed segment went off flawlessly. The seamless execution reflected the kind of behind-the-scenes professionalism that guests may not see, but we as the couple deeply appreciated. Another person who made the wedding unforgettable and stress-free was our Wedding Butler, Ke Ying. Her attentiveness was beyond words — from discreetly bringing water and food whenever she noticed we needed it, to surprising the bride with slippers at the end of the night so she could change out of her heels. These thoughtful gestures may seem small, but they carried immense meaning and made us feel so well cared for. We will always remember Ke Ying’s warmth and kindness. And of course, we cannot forget the exceptional food. Despite barely being able to eat during the banquet, Mandarin Oriental graciously delivered the full wedding spread to our room afterwards — an act of generosity that touched us deeply. The Chili Crab with Man Tou and the Cod were absolute standouts, and our guests are still raving about the quality of the cuisine. Deep compliments to Chef Tan and Chef Andrew Chong for crafting such a memorable feast. In short, Mandarin Oriental delivered not just a wedding, but an experience that exceeded every expectation. Their team combined world-class professionalism with heartfelt care, and we are forever grateful. If you are looking for a venue that will treat your wedding as if it were their own, look no further than Mandarin Oriental, Singapore. We cannot recommend this enough — even our friends are probably tired of hearing us gush about it!

Good food and stay!

Great stay! The lounge high tea range of food, teas and service was impeccable. The staff (sorry I don't remember her name, she was from China - she knew we loved the mint tea and gave it to us without asking each time we visited the lounge!) Awesome breakfast and dinner buffet spread too at Embu ranging from sushi to local Kaya toast to Western, Indian and so many other cuisines. Good service too - the staff helped us take pictures and showed us around the restaurant introducing to us how the buffet works before showing us to our seats! Check out their wellness activities e.g. sound bath, spa - something unique to MO! Thank you for a nice staycation :)

If you want the best wedding in Singapore, this is it

When I came to visit Mandarin Oriental (MO) for wedding venue recce, I'll admit this: MO was not high on my list. My impression of it was old and dated, and if I'm being honest, I didn't thought much of it. Boy, was I wrong. When Elena Ong responded to my email to schedule a meet-up, my wife and I thought, why not? THANK GOD WE DID. MO had a whole refresh; they revamped everything internally and spruced up their branding in the process. Everything was modern, with classical touches here and there. It was exquisite to say the least (I mean, Diptyque soaps?!). Then we met Elena. Elena was elegant, knew her stuff, was forthcoming and most importantly, Elena felt right. We felt right at home with her. We had a great camaraderie. After the first meet-up, I vividly remembered telling my then-girlfriend, now wife, "this hotel. let's pick this hotel". Elena was the sweetener to your coffee; she was the missing link we didn't realise we needed in a wedding planner. The Oriental Ballroom, with its panoramic screen, was majestic. When the doors opened, our jaws dropped; we were thoroughly impressed. We knew our guests would enjoy the ballroom as much as we did. And they did. We held our wedding on the 2nd August 2025 (lunch), at the Oriental Ballroom. From beginning to end, everything was perfect. We did not have any issues with the logistics nor the staff on duty. A few shoutouts to these heroes, in no particular order, for making the wedding EXCEPTIONALLY excellent: 1) Letitia Tan (event co-ordinator): Letitia, we LOVED your energy!!! We had ten thousand questions leading up to the wedding day and you were prepared for it all! You were patient with us, you reassured us that everything will go right when we started 'sashaying', and we really needed that. We really appreciated you and your assistance throughout the wedding, despite joining the party late. THANK YOU!!!! 2) Charmaine Ow (wedding butler): Charmaine, you know how much we appreciate you. You were like our willing younger sister (maybe even better, you did things that perhaps our siblings wouldn't hahaha). You were there for us the entire wedding day, from start to finish. Your attention to detail, man, it was so sweet. You prepared drinks for us, ensured that we were well taken care of, ensured that everything ran smoothly, made sure we were up to it.... I could go on and on but you know where I am coming from. You felt like a sibling, and we could tell your sincerity in your duty, something which the world lacks nowadays. THANK YOU!!!! 3) Jegan and Hanafi (Ops Managers) - Guys, thank you!!!! We had a million demands, opening the doors at xx timings, etc and you understood the task without question. You ensured there were no hiccups, and made sure everybody on the ground knew what to do. We're so, so blessed to have you manage our big day, and a HUGE shout out to you guys for making it a memorable one!!!! 4) Sathia (AV Manager) - SATHIA!!!! THANK YOU!!!! We had 2 AV testings (kiasu), and you managed to understand what we wanted. You collaborated with our friend doing AV well. Everything was in place, and you deserve huge credit for making it happen, so THANK YOU!!!! 5) Chefs Tan and Andrew Chong, and the rest of the kitchen crew - THE FOOD!!!! All our guests left the wedding ballroom sharing one common sentiment: wa the food damn good. And we agree, the food was reaaally good. THANK YOU for acceding to our requests (more vegetables, etc), and we appreciate the free-flow mantou so much! (tiny gesture, but well-received) 6) Last and definitely not least, Elena Ong our dearest wedding co-ordinator: Elena, what will we do without you? As we stated before, the wedding would've happened at other properties had we not met you last year. You were the key to it all. You felt familiar, you felt like family. We were so happy to meet and catch up every time we had to visit the property to discuss about the wedding, and it's because of you. So from the bottom of our hearts, sincerely, XIE XIE NI! It's clear we had an amazing wedding/stay and we hope this message goes out to the people involved in making our wedding a memorable one. Life is tough as it is, so I hope this small note of appreciation will not go unnoticed! Thank you guys, thank you MO for making this happen!!!!
