Reviews for Mandarin Oriental, Singapore

True Luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

Absolutely fabulous experience from the moment we walked through the doors. We were fortunate to have a Club room and access to HAUS 65 club. The staff at the HAUS were unbelievable and made my wife and I feel so very special. Nothing was too hard. The choice of drinks and food at the club was great and amenities perfect for relaxation and a bit of work. We felt truly welcomed and spoiled throughout the Hotel and being handed a towel and bottle of water every time I came back from a local run was unforgettable. For a true luxury experience I highly recommend Mandarin Oriental Singapore.

Standout service! Delectable food!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The Chinese restaurant has a lovely ambience. The minute we enter, we were greeted by their cheery staff. The dishes we ordered were flavorful. The service staff were attentive and carefully explained to us when we asked about the various dishes. I would rate this restaurant amongst one of the best for fine dining. A truly pleasant experience!

A Good First Impression

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Went for a wedding dinner. First impressions greet you the moment you enter the main door. Staff in smart uniforms ready to help.you with directions, take photos, answer your questions etc. inside lifts will have staff help you navigate between floors. At the dinner venue, food is individually portioned. Staff are fast and prompt with serving and clearing. Food is of high quality. Only gripe is some may find it a little salty. One recommendation is the Signature MO chocolate mousse cake. Overall, a good first impression of the hotel and it's offerings.

Faultless service and comfort

Faultless service throughout our 4 night. We had access to the business lounge Haus 65 which was comfotablke and quiet with excellent breakfast options. We appreciated the easy access to the aircon Mall behind the hotel and the short walk to the Metro.

Decent hotel, but the Conrad is the better choice

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for 3 nights while in Singapore for meetings and a conference hosted at the Mandarin. Colleagues had warned me that the Conrad is the better option when there’s a big event on, as the Mandarin can become chaotic. I should have listened. The property itself is what you would expect from a Mandarin Oriental in terms of brand, decor and general standard. However, the service around my stay was disappointing. Check-in was a mess. I arrived at 1 pm, but my room wasn’t available until after 5 pm. On top of that, I was told I’d need to change rooms after the first night. To be fair, I did have two back-to-back reservations, but I had already emailed the hotel a full day in advance asking them to link the bookings. That request was ignored. The hotel tried to make up for it with a dining credit, but the main restaurant was closed for the conference, so the gesture was largely useless. The other frustration was their “ecological” approach, which feels impractical in places. While waiting for my room I used the gym (which is good) and a nearby shower (which is not), and had to use the hotel’s eco-toiletries. The wooden comb and razor simply don’t work well, and I couldn’t even get a basic plastic bag for sweaty gym clothes before putting them in my suitcase. When the hotel isn’t running at or near full capacity, I can see it being a perfectly fine place to stay. But if there’s a conference or large event on, I’d choose the Conrad instead.
