We've been talking about coming to Raffles, Long Bar for Singapore Slings for years and we finally made it... It definitely did not disappoint. A fabulous treat whilst visiting Singapore The atmosphere was great and the drinks were exactly what we had hoped for. But the main bonus for us was John the bartender who had great knowledge, very welcoming and made our experience even better

we have been here a few times before. it’s fair to say: this place has seen better times. like: it’s quite usual to get a moist towel and a drink upon arrival. pls have a look at our “welcome drink” (photo) - no towels here. the “butler service” has gone downhill. a guy makes a token appearance and is never seen again. you request a call from yr butler - nobody calls. you request a visit by yr butler - nobody comes. you can still call guest service like everywhere else - and the girls will answer as yr “butler” - haha ! you send an email to the “lobbyambassador” - they cannot find it. you request the repair of the phone. it’s never done. only good there is a second one. service at breakfast time is slooow-ish. big confusion about which order is for which table. meanwhile you are entertained by tourist groups wandering thru taking pictures of you sitting there waiting for yr coffee. what can I say: not good enough for 5 points, almost only 3 points. time to shape up.

Since our last visit some years ago, Raffles has really upped its game. What an extraordinary hotel it is now. Everyone knew our name from arrival to departure and never failed to make us feel like honoured guests rather than paying customers. We were greeted by the Resident Historian one breakfast and it was a real privilege to meet him. Everything about this hotel is exceptional and I really cannot recommend it highly enough. If it’s within your reach, you should really stay there. The hotel complex now stretches over an entire city block and there are restaurants, shops, services galore. Many are open to the public, as you would expect, but you always feel special as a guest of the hotel and many areas are accessible only to hotel guests. Exceptional!

A big shoutout to Allen. He saw me being all curious outside of the hotel and decided to welcome me in to see the hotel lobby. It was really beautiful. I also get to learn lots of things and specifically on the history of the building. It was really a great experience all because of Allen.

Thank you, Roslee, for a truly wonderful tour of Raffles Hotel. I greatly appreciated the depth of insight you shared—not just about the hotel’s rich history, but also the beauty, grandeur, and charm that make Raffles so iconic. The stories of the distinguished guests who have graced its halls—actors, actresses, maharajas, presidents, and prime ministers—brought the place to life in such a special way. Your passion and knowledge made the experience unforgettable. I look forward to returning to Raffles Hotel again soon.
