Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore

My girl attended the baking lesson today. Dhuran and his team did a great job coordinating and guiding the kids in making the cupcakes and mocktail. He later made bracelets with the kids as well when they were at Buds. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience for my girl while I enjoyed my high tea at the rose veranda.

Our stay at the Shangri La Valley Wing was very enjoyable. The Valley Wing is a tranquil oasis within the large hotel complex and worth the upgrade on many front. Breakfast at Summit room is of very high quality, alas, service can be slow when busy. The overall food options for high tea and evening snacks are great and drink options throughout the include a high end selection of drinks. Rooms are not new but in good shape and all amenities work well. The restaurants we tried were good to very good with the Italian restaurant being our favorite. Pool area is nice and larger than in most SG city hotels and the gym is quite vast and well equipped. Overall an excellent stay.

Beautiful room and grounds. The buffet is amazing, too. But beware, the hotel charges per occupant and picks and chooses who gets charged. My wife traveled there for business. joined her a few days later. They then charged her for an extra guest - what hotel does this? A colleague of hers also had her husband join a few days later and they were not charged extra. Definitely gives us a bad taste and makes us want to look for other accommodations next time we visit Singapore.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I don't use elevators and was very pleased to be able to stay on the 3rd floor which is the same floor as the lobby. Our lovely pool view room was very comfortable and had a great view. The hotel lobby has a great cafe which sells high quality food and snacks. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Our room had a generous quantity of toiletries and fresh milk in the fridge which we appreciated. We tried several of the restaurants and had a nice massage in the spa. We appreciated the fact that a voucher meant that our breakfast was included each day - there is a fantastic range of buffet food from many nations. We loved all the flowers and orchids and plants throughout the hotel and the nice reading room. We are looking forward to returning in April. The hotel is located out of the main tourist areas in Sinapore - this means that it is a tranquil rest from the busy centre but we spent quite a lot on taxis going to different locations. Highly recommended.

Stayed 4 nights for our city break as part of longer Asia trip. Very welcoming luxury hotel. Excellent friendly staff, and a very comfortable cool clean room (we stayed on the Garden wing). Specious walk in shower, digital safe, very comfortable king size bed. We had an excellent in room dinner on our first night, certainly as good as the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was very good, with juices, pastries, selection of Asian and European dishes. The European cooked selections were not very warm, but I found the ramen and dumplings very good. Very attentive service. Lobby cake/coffee shop was a welcome find on our return from a hot day out in the city. We choose the Shangri-La because of its proximity to the botanical gardens, and the quieter residential suburb. It is about a 20 minute walk however to the nearest MRT stations, and 10-15 minute to the nearest bus stops on Orchard Road.
