Shangri-La ohhhhhhh lala

StayStayed at Shangri-La Singapore (Orchard) recently and had a good overall experience, The hotel itself is very nice, well maintained, and in a great location close to Orchard Road. The rooms are comfortable and well presented, and I really appreciated access to the Horizon Club upstairs — a great space to relax away from the busier parts of the hotel. Service is where this hotel really stands out. The staff across the board were excellent — friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A special mention to Ravi at the entrance, who greeted us like family every time. That level of personal service makes a big difference and is a big reason I would return. The front desk team and housekeeping staff were also fantastic — always polite and helpful. On the downside, room service and laundry felt quite overpriced for what you get. Also, during the weekends, the foyer area can become quite busy with a lot of small children running around while parents are relaxing, which takes away slightly from the overall atmosphere. In terms of value for money, it’s a bit mixed — you are definitely paying for the location and service. That said, the quality of the staff and overall comfort still make it a place I would come back to. Overall: Great service, good facilities, excellent staff — Bigfella

Lovely birthday stay

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Our room was spacious and had all the usual amenities. My daughter had advised them that I was celebrating a significant birthday during our stay and we returned that day to the most delicious chocolate cake with a card. The breakfast buffet had a huge choice. Get there early to avoid the busy time. I love the robot cats taking the dirty plates to/from the kitchen. Location is brilliant and we loved strolling down Orchard Road. Despite the concierge advising it was too far to walk to Raffles, we did it in less than an hour.

Beautiful but expensive in house food and activities

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Overall Beautiful hotel and staff are super friendly and helpful. A few drawbacks, we booked 2 adults, 2 kids in the junior suite but it only had 1 single bed. Where do they expect the 2nd kid to sleep? We had to ask for extra sheets and my son slept on the lounge. The cost of activities and food at the hotel are exorbitant. Aud$44 for burger and chips pool side. The horizon club (top floor lounge) is very nice but not worth it if you have kids as they are only allowed on weekends. Breakfast at the lounge was a nice change from the hectic buffet at The Line restaurant downstairs. The line had an incredible selection of foods but it was always very busy. The horizon club evening cocktails and canapés were again very nice, enough for dinner and included self serve beer wine and spirits. The splash water park was fun but suited to younger kids. My kids (11 & 7) enjoyed Buds and the staff there were great, but very expensive!
