Lovely room and staff friendly, but two things detracted. Firstly, it’s very family centric, especially at the weekend - with lots of families everywhere and everything geared to kids activities. Secondly, for a five star hotel, some of the housekeeping and facilities were a bit lacking - tired/small towels and robes as an example. Overall, fine, but would look for a bit more luxury next time.

Hotel truly 5stars. Very good breakfast , very clean and well maintained. Nice pool decent size with different depths. Unfortunately some of the Chinese visitors really don't know how to behave- most disgusting was them spitting in hotel corridors 😱

On a work trip to Sydney via Singapore. Couldn’t get same hotel in Singapore for outbound and inbound. Stayed at Shangrila Singapore on inbound for 2 nights. Wanted to leave a small cabin bag with concierge whilst in Sydney given I was returning in a week. The duty manager refused unless I made another booking at the Shangrila. I asked him to make an exception given I was a repeat customer. He was adamant that there is no good will unless I give the hotel more business. You’ve lossed a good customer Shangrila Singapore - horrific service. Avoid this hotel, they don’t care about customers.

Let's start with the obvious, this hotel is beautiful. It's clean, well-presented and spacious but on my second visit there's just a few little things which could be improved upon. Most hotels now come with toiletries in the bathroom but the ones provided in the rooms here come in tiny bottles rather than the reusable pumps on the wall and a lot of the extras come with unnecessary packaging. On the sink unit, there had to be at least 8 different packets of accessories which will more than likely go to waste, so I think these need to be changed to 'on request' only to save on wastage. Also, I arrived after travelling for 18 hours and my room wasn't ready for me to freshen up or have a rest. I did ask about early check in but was told this wasn't an option. When you've been travelling for this long, it would be great to have this as an option so you can relax and decompress from a long travel but instead I had to occupy myself for 4 hours whilst the room was ready. When the room was ready, it was booked as a city room view but had no view of the city whatsoever. Given the standard of the room is so high, I wasn't too concerned but when you select a particular option it should be given. None of the above is anything to make this a 'bad' hotel by any stretch but when you're paying a premium, you expect the very best and with these little bits ironed out it would be perfect.
