Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore

The service here, especially in the restaurants and attending to room cleaning, has fallen away considerably over the years. We have stayed at this hotel many times since 2003. The drop-off in standards is palpable. Staff are fewer on the ground. Venue ‘management level’ staff are poorly trained and, watching staff interactions, one is left with feeling that the culture is not a happy one. It’s really sad. It’s still a Gand old hotel, but that’s about the only reason to stay here now.

Had bfst at lobby lounge wt my sisters. We were served by Yamun n her service was outstanding ..she knew the menu well. She was friendly n courteous n was always smiling n helpful. Bfst was amazing n Yamun made it even a lovely experience

If there was something below zero I would give it I am a local living in Singapore a member of the Chi Spa. Every Saturday I walk in for my massage which everyone sill agree is supposed to be a RELAXING experience . HOW can this be when the Shangri La has cut the parking coupon from 24 hrs free parking to 3 hours parking: it takes 30 mins to change clothes & lie down in the lounge getting ready for the experience , 60 mins for the massage followed with at least 30 mins relaxing in the lounge followed by 30 mins getting dressed & paying ones bill.!!! The gentleman at the desk says parking coupons are for IN HOUSE guests , didn’t know that tourist drive over from overseas. Instead of cutting your nose to spite your face the Shangri La should make the Chi Spa parking coupon at least 6 hours . Some clients like myself like to follow up with lunch at the lounge.!!!

After spending several days at Shangri-La Singapore, I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel that is genuinely family-friendly while still offering a peaceful and elegant atmosphere, this is an excellent choice. Although the hotel originally opened many years ago, it has clearly been well maintained and continuously updated. Before arriving, I came across a few reviews mentioning minor signs of aging in some areas. After experiencing the hotel myself, I can say those comments are technically true, but they’re so minor that they simply don’t matter. They certainly don’t take away from the quality, comfort, or overall experience. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The gardens are immaculate, the surroundings are peaceful, and there are enough facilities to keep both adults and children entertained all day. Our kids especially enjoyed Buds by Shangri-La and the Splash Zone, while we appreciated having plenty of space to relax around the resort. It’s one of those places where you don’t feel the need to leave the hotel every day. Shangri-La Singapore consists of three wings: Tower Wing, Garden Wing, and Valley Wing. We stayed in the Valley Wing Deluxe King Room, and I would highly recommend it. The exclusive privileges made a noticeable difference, including breakfast in the private dining room, afternoon tea, lounge refreshments throughout the day, and evening canapés and cocktails. It added a more private and refined experience without feeling overly formal. The room itself was spacious, elegant, and very comfortable for our family. We travelled with two children, and the room worked perfectly by having one child sleep with us while requesting an additional bed for the other. The bathroom was large, featuring both a bathtub and a separate shower, and as someone visiting from the Middle East, I really appreciated having a bidet spray. Small details like the complimentary chocolates placed by the bedside every evening, the Nespresso coffee machine, and the complete bathroom amenities made the stay even more enjoyable. What impressed me the most, however, was the service. Every member of staff greeted us with genuine warmth and professionalism. I’d especially like to thank Shannon at reception, who went above and beyond by patiently explaining everything we needed and helping us set up the local apps required during our stay in Singapore. It’s service like this that leaves a lasting impression. Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable family hotel experiences we’ve had. Beautiful surroundings, outstanding service, excellent facilities, and a relaxing atmosphere made it an unforgettable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to Singapore..

Our recent stay at the Valley Wing was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, we were enveloped in luxury, comfort, and unmatched hospitality. The check-in experience was incredibly smooth and set a wonderful tone for the rest of our stay. We were deeply impressed by the thoughtful amenities provided in the room, which added a perfect touch of care and luxury. A huge thank you to Amin, Iris, and Joanne, who were incredibly friendly, professional, and swift in attending to all of our requests. The culinary experience here deserves a special mention. The breakfast selections were extensive and beautifully curated, but the main courses truly stole the show. The Bak Kut Teh was rich and authentic, and the crispy egg confit was executed to absolute perfection—an absolute must-try! What truly elevates the Valley Wing, however, is its people. The attentive, personalized service we received made us feel incredibly valued. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chef Hun, Chef Lucas, Chef Jack, Chef Xin, Samuel, Fera, Danish, Veronica, Raja, and Wei Long for their impeccable care and dedication throughout our stay. Lastly, we cannot forget the wonderful team members who greeted us with the brightest smiles and warmest energy every single day—thank you, Razmie, Benjie, and Elvis, for making our days so much brighter! The Valley Wing continues to excel in hospitality, and we cannot wait to return for another memorable retreat. Highly recommended!
