Consistently among "Singapore's Top Three," according to Fodor's, the Shangri-La Hotel sets the tone for the city's luxurious social life. As one of the flagship properties for the award winning Shangri-La group, the famed hotel enjoys an ideal location in this island city. From the moment guests step inside, tranquility prevails. Walls of sheer glass overlook a botanical haven in this intimate paradise that features breathtaking accommodations, spa escapes, and a serene koi pond for quiet moments of contemplation within this premier hotel.

We had a pleasant stay at the Shangri la hotel with our daughter. The hotel is clean and lobby is grand with lovely orchids and artwork. Check in was easy and they provide a nice gift bag for children. The hotel gardens and koi/turtle pond are very impressive and was our favourite part. The hotel has a play centre (Buds) which is $36++ per child for guests per visit (more if you’re not a guest), some promos/rooms incl this however there is no alternative free play area and you pass Buds to use lifts and it’s right outside breakfast so unless you plan to pay to enter every day which can be expensive be mindful that it is hard to explain to young children walking past that they can’t go in whenever. We had just stayed at the pan pacific Singapore which has a great free play room and found the Shangri la paid option less attrative. Splash outdoor play area has 1 free visit for guest and this was great for young kids. Breakfast was very busy and lots of options weren’t refilled so you have to go back and check. Coffee order was taken but never came and they wouldn’t let us use the machine ourselves, service was average. Wouldn’t deem the selection of breakfast anything too exciting, there’s many options but the standard for a chain hotel and quality of some items was average. Noticed some kids got children’s plates and cutlery but we didn’t, think the staff weren’t just too busy. Pool is big but older, pool side menu is small and drinks are pricey compared to outside the hotel. Hotel also charges for infant milk ($10++ per glass) which other hotels we stayed at in Singapore is happily provided free of charge for infants needing a bottle at night. Location wise you can’t walk too much in the Singapore heat, be prepared to use taxis/grab etc. Overall not a bad hotel but not up there with other hotels we’ve stayed at in Singapore. The value for money isn’t great in comparison with similarly priced chains like Pan Pacific, Park Royals etc in Singapore.

Lovely hotel in a good location, with excellent staff who were both friendly and helpful. We made a mess of our booking and they fixed it without any hassle or fuss. Pool area and kids club were both great, as were the restaurants that we visited. We’ll happily stay here again the next time we’re in Singapore. My only tip - Grab Taxi’s were a bit strange with children in the taxi, so you’re actually better just getting a normal cab. This can be done via the hotel, hailing a taxi while out and about or (ironically) booking via the Grab app.

We had 9 nights at Shangri-la hotel for a holiday in Singapore. The hotel and facilities were outstanding, but the standout feature was the incredibly helpful and obliging staff. We really enjoyed our stay. The restaurants were also really good especially the breakfast offering.

We stayed here for two nights last week on the final leg of a family holiday to Thailand. We booked a horizon club junior suite for 3 adults and 1 child, though the third 'adult' is only 13! The room was beautiful, with lovely views over the swimming pool, beautifully furnished and the hotel had left a birthday cake with fruit and chocolates to celebrate my wifes 50th. All really great. The only issue we had is that the room clearly is not big enough for any more than 3 people. They allow you to book for four, which would lead you to believe that the second bed/sofa bed would be big enough to accommodate 2 people, however it is a very small single, so we had to get extra blankets and create a bed on the very narrow soda for one of our kids. Be mindful of this when booking this room. For the money we paid I would have expected enough bedspace for 4. Other than this, we loved it here. We had access to the Horizon lounge which is well worth a visit, beautiful canapes created by the onsite chefs, and drinks aplenty. The breakfast restaurant has probably the biggest and best selection of food I have ever seen, so many food stands and variety for every taste, and all beautifully cooked. The swimming pool is very large, with loads of sunbed availability, food available at reasonable prices, and they even offer complimentary face suncream! Beautifully sculpted grounds, lots of other facilities available including tennis/paddle, theres a kids play area and water park. It really is a lovely hotel and the people are so very friendly. If you want to be near Marina Bay or Sentosa Island, then this hotel is a cab ride away, but it is very close to Orchard Road and the vast amount of shopping malls (all interconnected underground which is handy when it rains) I would definitely love to stay here again, but the sleeping arrangements were not ideal. Thankfully it didnt take too much of the gloss off our final stop before going home.

Wonderful customer service from front desk staff but the best of the best were the doormen/greeters Kumar and crew…thank you. The beautiful gardens in the hotel were just so relaxing and calming. Excellent buffet breakfast which included sooo much of choice….Singaporean, indian, western, Chinese, Japanese etc and well worth the money. Easy to walk to orchard road literally five minutes.
