Reviews for The Warehouse Hotel

Swank, Top-Notch Boutique Hotel in Singapore

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The Warehouse is a wonderful boutique hotel. My wife and I spent nine nights at the Warehouse in connection with a visit with family in Singapore. We’ve come to really appreciate the benefits of staying in smaller hotels — more personalized service, more tranquil, easily accessible, less formal, no crowds, conventions or tour groups, etc. Granted, we stayed over a week, but the staff referred to us all week by name. and tripped over themselves to make sure we were happy. The hotel is located right on the Singapore River and we had a second floor loft room facing the river, which meant a pleasant view and absolute quiet. I am noise sensitive and have rarely stayed in an urban hotel room this quiet (including the air conditioning, which was imperceptible). The room was a generous size, with cathedral ceiling, and was nicely, if minimally, furnished. Not extravagant, but tasteful and comfortable. The bed was comfortable; the bathroom is compact and cleverly designed, though offers little privacy. Housekeeping was efficient and timely. Our room package included a daily order-from -the menu breakfast, at a price point very favorable compared to similar quality hotels. The modest size swimming pool is very refreshing on those hot, humid days and just long enough for lap swims (though not very tranquil for sun bathing, as it is located adjacent to a busy intersection). The hotel is ideal for runners, located as it is right on the river, which sports popular running trails on both sides. The hotel lobby is swank and features a popular bar. A few nits: ineffective overhead illumination in the room; insufficient drawer storage for a long stay; no fitness center. Overall, though, this is a terrific, comfortable high-end hotel in a historic building in an attractive location with lots of restaurants and bars nearby, and an easy walk to the main attractions in the downtown district. We recommend the Warehouse highly and would return without hesitation.

Fantastic and Unique Boutique Hotel - 5/5

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This was the nicest boutique hotel that I've ever stayed at. I used 120,000 Marriott points for the warehouse sanctuary ground floor, and I was upgraded one category to the warehouse loft due to my platinum status. It's a beautiful hotel with it being a repurposed liquor distillery giving it a bit of an aged industrial feel. There was a Singaporean snack waiting for me as a welcome amenity in my room with a small note from the general manager. The location wasn't the greatest as it's a bit of a trip from all of the major tourist attractions that I wanted to see and experience in the city. It is a 5-minute walk from the train station (not a major line so I had to transfer a couple of times), but it feels longer because of the constant rain and extreme humidity. I know that's not something the hotel can control, but it just means that the location of the hotel matters that much more because it impacts your motivation to go out and explore. However, everything else was fantastic. The room was extremely clean and felt very premium. The bed was one of the softest and more comfortable hotel beds I've slept on. The sheets were extremely warm and the a/c was incredibly effective. The TV, while a bit small, extends from its place using a TV arm to bring it a little closer to the bed, which I thought was a nice touch. The room was a decent size; I think it felt bigger due to all of the interior design being in such a way that maximized the space. The service was instant whenever I called, the phone was picked up instantly by the reception. They spoke fluent English and chatted with me when I checked in. The room service was extremely well done because the room was always very clean whenever I opted for room service. The bathroom was one of the most premium parts of the room with all of the amenities being fantastic. It was one of the first hotels that gave me bath salts to use for the tub. The toiletries are being discontinued I think but they gave wonderful bamboo toothbrushes that would last much longer than one day. The water pressure for the showers was very satisfying. Overall, I loved my stay. I will definitely be returning when I get the chance because it's just such a unique hotel. The midnight walks by the Robertson Quay river was magnetic, and the little convenience store across the bridge had tasty onigiris. Everything from the room to the soft amenities felt very intentional (they even gave a Google Maps guide on good places to eat). It was definitely a fascinating hotel with lots of history that I can confidently recommend to anyone.

Sehr schönes Boutique Hotel an super Lage

Rooms without windows

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Be very careful about what room you choose! The location is pretty good, but if you go for a basic room for roughly $500 per night (!), you will end up with a room without a window. Yes, without a single window! Incredible, but true… Needless to say, staff does not care. And to top it all, your Marriott bonvoy status is not honored whatsoever. Singapore is completely overrated. Customer service is dreadful, as they always fill up anyway. Avoid!

All-around Incredible Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

This was an absolutely incredible experience. It's probably the most unique hotel I've ever been to, as it's built on a heritage property of distilleries and warehouses from the 1800s. The amenities that were built into the property felt very premium and fantastic. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on, and the bathtub is quite large.
