Conrad Singapore Orchard

Greeted nicely as soon as we got out of the taxi. Check in was friendly and a breeze. They even let us check-in 1 hrs before the posted time. Be aware, security deposit is $100 a night. A small mall with plenty of restaurants and a Starbucks is located just a couple minutes walk from the hotel. Rooms were a tad on the small side with not a good view. Loved the rainforest shower. AC was nice and strong, which came in handy when coming back from this crazy Singapore humidity. Rooms were quiet. My family and I have a tradition where we will try one hotel restaurant from each hotel we stay at. We had one picked out until we saw the prices. We have no problem splurging, however, did not want to spend close to $200 per person. Hotel staff overall were extremely friendly. This Singapore heat is no joke. Not sure if we will come back to this country. But if we do, I will have no problem staying at this hotel again.

From the check-in at midnight, Norman (reception) gave a wonderful warm welcome and noted on my husband’s birthday during our stay. We were pleasantly upgraded onto Executive King room with Happy Birthday decor and super delicious mini cake. Kudos for making our welcome a wonderful surprise. Really felt valued as a loyal Hilton Honor member. The room was well furnished with a full length sofa/daybed against the window. Loved the filtered water in butler pantry. The Byredo toiletries smell amazing. It lures me to look out for Byredo products. Would be great to have bidet in the toilet. The executive lounge was well managed. Very thankful to L and the team, who greeted us warmly and pampered us with drinks and food (especially the evening canapé). They also threw a surprise birthday singing on my husband’s actual birthday. That was a cherry on top, to all the good things Conrad has offered during our stay. We were given extension to use the gym and executive lounge, after our check-out since our departure flight was late into the night. An amazing team (all around) and a beautiful hotel. Keep it up.

Stayed a few nights at Conrad on our transit home. Location was good as MRT was nearby. Room was spacious and clean but no bathtub. There’s a filtered tap water water which is great instead of bottled water being provided. Breakfast was also great with many choice available. Overall experience was great.

We stayed at the Conrad Singapore Orchard for 5 nights last week in their King deluxe balcony suite. It was one of the most memorable experiences that we as a family had in our many hotel stays throughout the world wherever we travelled. What stood out in comparison with the other properties that we ever stayed was their standout customer service which started even before we checked in. There was an email from the Concierge asking few days before asking for our arrival details, any particular occasion we were celebrating, any particular requests and anything we would specially like to do in our Singapore trip. The check in was very smooth and Ms Jiaee at the reception explained all the facilities and the type of room in detail. She went through all the inclusions in detail and also informed me about the latest wildlife park in Singapore incase we wish to visit the same. The suite was absolutely luxurious with all the amenities including the byredo Mojave ghost toiletries and Tea and coffee by TWG and Bacha coffee respectively. There was also a Nespresso machine and complimentary artisanal cookies were provided daily. The walk-in wardrobe had a Dyson hair dryer in addition to all the regular inclusions. The team had generously organised a special cake and other amenities for my wife as we were celebrating her birthday. Staying at the suite entitled us the use of the Executive lounge on the 11th floor which had breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktail with canapés in the evening. The executive lounge managed by Mr.Ramesh and his team was awesome. The service was attentive and polite. Food and drink choices and the quality of the food which showcased some of the hotel restaurants was very good. The breakfast buffet at the Basilica restaurant was one of the best hotel breakfast buffets that I have ever experienced in terms of the variety offered and the quality of food. The service was prompt and efficient. As a hospitality professional I couldn't fault anything. Overall it was one of the best hotel stays we ever had !!! This is a very nice hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were greeted kindly by the front desk and reception team. We were assisted by Justin, who was polite and professional. There was a small issue with our booking – although we had paid for breakfast, it wasn’t reflected in the hotel’s system. Justin, possibly new, wasn’t able to resolve it himself, so I contacted my booking agent, who then liaised with the front desk manager. Thankfully, the issue was sorted out between them. Our room was clean and well-maintained, with a spacious bathroom. One feature I especially appreciated was the filtered water tap in the room – a thoughtful and sustainable touch. The breakfast had a great variety with plenty to choose from. The hotel is also in a great location, making it easy to get around either by walking or taxi. We ordered in-room dining one evening, but a few items were missing from our order. When the missing dishes eventually arrived, it was quite late, so we were only able to eat part of it. On our final night, we dined at Basilico, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, which came highly recommended. The food was good and the service from John was excellent. However, there were a few letdowns: my daughter ordered penne with tomato sauce but was served spaghetti instead. While they offered to correct it, she was hungry and just went ahead with what she had. We also noticed that other guests received warm bread with dipping oils, while we only received bread with no accompaniments. It’s a small detail, but consistency matters, and management should ensure that all guests receive the same complimentary items. There was also a mishap with dessert – my daughter picked a treat that was labeled or assumed to be a chocolate egg, but it turned out to contain coffee liqueur. She bit into it and spat it out. My wife confirmed it was indeed alcohol. I informed the floor staff right away, and I hope this is addressed moving forward to prevent similar situations. At checkout, I spoke with Siri Fatimah about our experience. She was very understanding, polite, and professional, and kindly reduced our bill as a goodwill gesture, which we really appreciated. Overall, this is a lovely hotel and I would consider returning. However, our experience at Basilico is the main reason I couldn’t give a full 5-star rating.
