Our king deluxe was small! The bathroom was a reasonable size, but the living and sleeping area had the minimal amount of space around the bed. There is nowhere to stash your shoes, or clothes that you are not hanging. The bathroom, though roomy, has nowhere to hang a towel, or clothes. And the window, lets in the smallest amount of light, is set above eye height, and is light limitingly narrow. We upgraded to a junior suite, paid the difference, went from a king to a queen bed (weird?), but a nicer larger room with some natural light. However, even in the bigger room, still nowhere to store clothes, underwear shoes etc, nowhere to hang anything (towels etc) in the bathroom either. Also in this bathroom the only power point is the international razor plug. Why provide a Dyson hairdryer if there’s nowhere to plug it in?The pool area is rooftop, and quite nice, but, in a hotel of, at a quick estimate, 190 rooms, has only 10 day beds, plenty of tables for sitting at but only the 10 pool loungers, which were always taken during the times we headed up there. The location is great, literally next to satay street, the fitout is great but so many small things missed.

A lot of thought has gone into the design and making the hotel feel ‘boutique’ though not sure it quite manages it possibly due to the size. I thought the room was quite small, though fine for just 2 nights and really only to sleep in, the bed was comfortable. I had a room directly above the reception and inward facing so there was noise from early in the morning, it was quite odd to look out the window to see a brick wall then realise it was the inside lobby. Pool was nice. Location is good a couple of minutes walk to MRT, close to China Town, 20 min walk to Marina Bay. The big hit for me was being on the doorstep of Lau Pa Sat. Overall good but not sure the price is justifiable. I wouldn’t return.

I am in Singapore frequently and this time I thought I'd try a new hotel. Pros: Location is good, opposite Lau Pa Sat, and close to Raffles Place MRT and my office in MBFC. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff try hard. The bar is nice although the service was slow and the restaurant was good, albeit on the pricy side. I didn't eat breakfast there as there are some great western options close by in Telok Ayer. Cons: I chose this hotel for the pool. But on checking in I was told it was closed for renovation. There's no notice about this on the website and my travel agent was not informed when they booked. I did go and look at it and it was much smaller than the website photos showed. Yes we were able to use the pool at The Westin which is a much nicer pool. I should have stayed there in the first place! I was initally allocated a room which was inward looking, facing a brick wall. That would have been okay for one night, but as I was there for a week, I asked to be moved, which they did the next day. That room was on the top floor and looked onto the tiled roof, but at least it had some natural light. Whenever I called Reception I had to listen through the annoying advertising spiel before being told all operators were busy. To their credit, they saw that I had called and called me back. There's no loyalty program and they have an app which looks like it's still in development. Would I stay again? Probably not. I'll go back to The Westin.

I found the staff friendly and receptive, the room comfortable, and the pool fun. Also, the hotel couldn’t check us in for 10 minutes, so gave us three complimentary drinks as a compensation. We also met the GM (Doron) at a pool party that we were grandfathered in to, and he was also incredibly gracious and welcoming. As well as buying us another 3 drinks :)

The best hotel we have ever stayed in! Outstanding customer service and the whole team went above and beyond to ensure an everything was perfect! I cannot remember everyones names but the front of house staff were incredible, and really made the final night of our holiday memorable. Tim at the bar made us the best cocktails we have ever had (particularly the espresso martini & signature whiskey cocktail!) and was so kind, spending lots of time talking us through the menu! The room itself was perfect, with so many thoughtful finishing touches. We wish could have stayed longer to enjoy the room more! We already cannot wait to come back to Singapore just to stay at this hotel!
