Founded on Englandâ€(TM)s great country house traditions, Charlton House brings a sense of imagination and flair to an old favorite. Tucked into the rolling hills of Somerset, west of London, the manor dates back to 1630. The dramatic décor, however, heralds a new era in design with 25 bedrooms possessing their own identityâ€"in one you may find a grand sanctuary, in another a cozy retreat with a secret garden. Distinguished with a Michelin star for the past seven years, the house restaurant presents imaginative cuisine using fresh West Country produce.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at Charlton House. Jack the restaurant manager couldn’t do enough for us. The food was absolutely amazing by the chef Asanka and great service from the waitress Megan. We all had a great day, cant wait to come again. Thank you Michael Phelps

We just had Sunday lunch at Carlton house and we at impeccable attention given to us by Jack and his team. I had the prawn starter with the chilli jam made in house! The roast beef and Yorkshire came with an assortment of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. The portions were massive and everything was cooked to perfection. My son ate from the kids menu and his burger was outstanding. I really wanted to have a dessert but I was beaten by the main course. Thank you Jack & Co and to the clearly fantastic kitchen team. Went as a trip away for my birthday. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were greeted by the friendly reception staff. We had booked an early check in and arrived 15 mins prior to that and were given a complimentary hot drink as our room was just being finished. Once we had finished we were shown to our room number 24 on the ground floor. It was decorated lovely and was very spacious. The room led onto a private courtyard area beyond the double doors. The bathroom was large with a shower and large bathtub. Shortly after arriving in our room, there was a knock at the door and a plate delivered with chocolate fudge brownies, chocolate covered strawberries and Happy Birthday on it. This was a lovely touch. We spent the rest of the afternoon using the hotel spa facilities, which have been well designed and include a crystal steam room, finnish sauna, laconium and experience showers. There is a quiet area that has seating, beds and allows you to just sit and chill out. The pool is mainly inside but has a swim through to an outdoor section of the pool. The inside pool contains a number of different jets for hydrotherapy. Outside the spa area is an outdoor area with seating, lay down beds, a jacuzzi and a ice bath. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. All the staff in the hotel were very friendly and very attentive. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back.

I had such a wonderful stay at this countryside hotel. The setting was peaceful and scenic, the perfect escape from the busyness of everyday life. The rooms were beautifully kept, spacious, and very comfortable – a lovely mix of charm and modern touches. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every meal was full of fresh, flavorful ingredients and clearly prepared with care. It was easily some of the best dining I’ve experienced while traveling. The combination of a relaxing countryside location, cozy and stylish rooms, and exceptional food made this stay unforgettable. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a countryside getaway. Thank you Imran, Yaya & Team for a wonderful experience

We were invited for an evening wedding reception at the hotel. We have never been to the hotel before so had no idea where we were going. We saw the brides brother who invited us down to a bar to meet his family. We chatted to him for a bit and got introduced to the family. One of the bar staff very rudely came over to us and told us to leave as we were not staying in the hotel, and were talking in the area! Great customer service. On top of this we had to £16.25 for 2 pints of cider as they impose a service charge on each drink! We will never be back, which is a shame as our daughter was looking at this venue for her wedding.
