Grand Hotel Royal

We’ve just returned from a ten night stay at this lovely Hotel. I chose the Hotel as it has easy access to Sorrento and has a swimming deck for sea swimming. We were given a gorgeous room on the second floor - 214. It did not have a sea view, but did have a shower (which I requested; instead of a bath). The room was beautifully decorated - very White Lotus! Rooms are serviced twice daily and complimentary water is supplied. The whole Hotel is absolutely beautifully decorated and maintained. The gardens are full of tropical plants and have views from several terraces over the sea and Marina Piccola. We particularly liked the ‘beach’ services which is a deck with sunloungers and bar service. There are easy access steps into the sea, which we used every day. The Hotel’s pool is unheated, so we swam in the sea. We ate in the hotel for two days on arrival as due to a storm on the day of our arrival , there was no water in Sorrento (the Hotel has its own back up supply). A complimentary breakfast is included and is quite extensive with all the usual sweet and savoury offerings plus a omelette station. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. When we wanted to book restaurants and book excursions they helped us with these. I do agree with others that there are a lot of weddings, but this provided some great people watching! The only suggestion I would make is that they need another bar area or the offer to serve drinks in the lounge as the bar ends up being a corridor to the outside terrace! One final suggestion is that a welcome drink after a long journey would be appreciated (and is usual in most other five star hotels we stay in).

Incredible hotel. My room, the grounds the Terrace the beach club the pool area. Everything was just beautiful Big splurge for the Seaview Terrace room and so glad I did. The staff were very kind from the moment they greet you and take you on a tour of the whole facility and show you how everything in the room operates. The breakfast is expensive, including an omelette station and homemade cappuccino. Room Service was fast and delicious. Spritzes on the terrace at sunset was epic every night. I absolutely loved the hotel and highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Sorrento was a nice way to end our 2 week stay in Italy. You begin to relax the moment you walk out of the lobby and take a look the view. Our room was very large, nice and updated. The bathroom was large and nice. The shower was fine, updated but not luxury. Lots of closet space with plenty of shelves. The terrace in our room was amazing. Our room 503 did lack some privacy on the terrace. Our friends in room 603 could look over their balcony to ours so we could chat when both on our terraces. And the person below them could peek around the corner and see us easily if they wanted. It was not a big deal, but I'd request 603 if your are in an Imperial Suite for more privacy. The staff in all parts of the hotel were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. You can tell that they take pride in looking after guests. The included breakfast was a nice way to get a light breakfast. Plenty of selections along with an egg and omelette station. There are plenty of spaces both indoor and outdoor to sit and enjoy a drink. Nice location. Easy to walk anywhere for shopping and dining.

Hotel is fantastic.staff fantastic View from sea balcony room was spectacular. But be aware that this hotel has many weddings and christenings etc therefore the terrace can be out action to guests ,and can be very noisy late at night.

I truly would like this hotel to be a secret, but I can not stop talking about all the beauty this hotel offers! The spectular views, the rich landscaping, the secret tunnel accessing the blue waters, the endless breakfast, the royality atmosphere inside the rooms and on the entire property, the superior customer service from each person on the property! Thank you for treating me like Royality, I love each of you!
