About the Hotel
The Grand Hotel Royal, member of Alberghi Storici d'Italia (Historic Hotels of Italy), is five-star estate in the heart of Sorrento, perched over the sea in a privileged location overlooking the Gulf of Naples and the Mount Vesuvius, surrounded by a large park boasting exotic plants, amazing camellias, orange and lemon trees. A little bit of history - Between the two wars, the hotel welcomed the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Italy, Francesco Saverio Nitti. Built in 1898, this was the hotel for the aristocracy who flocked from all over Europe to enjoy the grand gala evenings on the terrace high above the sea, with the Gulf of Naples stretched out before them.

Exceptional in every way!
If you enjoy staying in a classic Italian 5 star hotel, with great service, exquisitely appointed rooms, and excellent on site dining options look no further! Excellent location on cliffs overlooking Naples Bay, and far enough removed from the downtown crowds, yet still within walking distance to all major attractions as well as the Ports. Our marbled suite was spacious with a separate living area and two balconies. Excellent accommodating staff. Would definitely return!

Beautiful hotel
Gorgeous hotel with beautiful views! Everything was perfect, the room was nicely appointed and the common areas were sparkling they were so clean. Erminia at the front desk made our stay beyond special. She helped my sisters and I with every request we had, she was so sweet we didn't want to leave her!!! The waiters at the bar and breakfast room were super nice as well. Ettore, Davide, Marco and Antonino were so good to us. Stay here if you can, everything is top notch! We will definitely be back. Heaven On Earth
Book It!!! Beautiful- Heaven on earth. Get the view too. The Hotel is beyond gorgeous. No detail was missed from the decor to the location. Antonio is The Best!! Great resource for restaurants and all information of Sorrento.

Great Sorrento hotel/ Resort
We had a great 3 night stay here. It’s got great facilities, nice pool with enough deck chairs and space for everyone and a nice beach club. We really liked the food options, especially for lunch. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The room was also great. My only criticism is the bath/ shower combination, I would prefer not to have a bath but proper shower instead.

We recently returned to the Grand Hotel Royal in Sorrento for the second time, and it was just as unforgettable as our first stay. This historic property is truly a gem, perched above the Mediterranean with breathtaking views that never get old. The grounds are simply stunning—lush, beautifully maintained, and perfect for enjoying a peaceful stroll. The hotel itself is elegant and has that old-world charm. What makes the experience even more special is the staff: attentive, professional, and genuinely kind, always going above and beyond to ensure guests feel cared for. From the spectacular setting to the remarkable service, the Grand Hotel Royal exceeds expectations at every turn. It’s an outstanding 5-star hotel that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting Sorrento. We are already looking forward to our next stay!
