About the Hotel

There is no fourth wall in villas at Ladera – instead, there is the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic spires that attract adventure-seekers from across the world. A faint tropical breeze wafts from the Caribbean Sea far below through netting on a four-poster bed carved from polished tropical hardwood. Incentive to leave your room can be found in chef Nigel Mitchel's creative interpretation of traditional island fare – try the roast conch served with organic vegetables from the neighboring plantation.

Reviews for Ladera Resort

The hotel is a destination unto itself

Absolutely amazing hotel to stay at! Sunsets were absolutely magical to see between the Pitons in the evenings. Staff was very attentive to all of our needs and seemed genuine in all our interactions with them. Nice hiking trail on the property that offered different, great views of the Pitons and some quiet places to relax. Coming from Alaska we were very concerned we'd be too hot with the open-air rooms but we were comfortable at night without using the bedside fans that are provided. The restaurant on the property had good food at a reasonable price but we ordered room service and ate in our room most of the time because the views were so spectacular from there. We stayed in a Heritage Suite. Hands down one of my favorite hotels ever and my first choice to stay at if I ever return to St. Lucia.

Amazing Birthday Vacay @ Ladera

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

I stayed at Ladera Resort for my birthday and it was truly one of the most beautiful, peaceful, and memorable travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, everything about this resort felt intentional and exceptional. The landscaping is absolutely immaculate, the grounds are stunning, and the entire property feels seamlessly woven into the rainforest and mountains. I stayed in a Hilltop Dream Suite, which was a two-story suite with the famous open fourth-wall design—and the view of the Pitons was simply unreal. Waking up to the mountains directly in front of me every morning felt like a dream. Despite being fully immersed in nature, I never felt uncomfortable. The room felt protected, safe, and serene—and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the space is designed to keep bugs and outside elements under control. It truly allowed me to relax and enjoy the openness without worry. The service here deserves every bit of praise it receives. Every single staff member I encountered was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely accommodating. You can tell that hospitality is a priority here—it shows in every interaction. The food was also outstanding. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were consistently excellent at Dasheene Restaurant. The presentation, flavors, and overall dining experience—especially with that view—made every meal feel special. The drinks were equally fantastic. Most of all, Ladera gave me exactly what I wanted for my birthday: peace, calm, beauty, and stillness. Being surrounded by the rainforest and the mountains created such a grounding and restorative atmosphere. It was serene in a way that’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it yourself. This resort is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. I truly cannot stop raving about it, and I would return in a heartbeat.

Impressive Views - Unsatisfying Hotel Experience.

Summary. The view is awesome, but that’s all they offer. The room rates are not justifiable for what you get. Detail below: Positives - The view from the rooms and other areas of the property is surreal, perfect. - The pool in room is a great feature along with the view - The spa building design is great -Short hiking trail on property is a cool feature and offers nice views. Negatives - The food at the resort is very bad, needs a lot of help. Disappointing considering the room rate and cost for meals. -housekeeping is inconsistent with towels and room turnover etc. -The renovation or condition of the rooms were not acceptable for this nightly rate. Some of the finishes and furniture resembles a cabin. - The bed was very uncomfortable -The bedding is cheap relative to the room rate. -Staff was nice but there was a bit of fakeness to it - some seemed unhappy. Some of staff was great and pleasant. -The layout of the resort is a bit odd and awkward.

Magical, Gorgeous, and Relaxing Resort with wonderful Staff

Private, Romantic, and magical location. We stayed here in rainbow suite H for our honeymoon January 16-22nd. Every room has fantastic views. The staff was wonderful-- one the gardeners brought us fresh coconuts and cut them for coconut water. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The trail was lovely. The restaurant is delicious. We saw a rainbow or double rainbow every morning. You will not be disappointed with the beauty and peacefulness of this resort. This is a perfect place for any romantic trip including baby moons (I saw lots of cute pregnant couples). You may be wondering about the glamping style sleeping situation. I have insomnia, but I was able to sleep well because the pool waterfalls mask noise. Some of the rooms are two story and may not mask noise as well, so maybe bring a noise machine if you're an extra light sleeper like me. They provide earplugs too. You have a mosquito net for the bed, but bring bug spray and loose, light, beachy panys/long sleeves for evening and mornings. They provide natural bug spray, but it was no help for me. It worked great for my husband. They do sell deet and basic meds in the store, but I'd bring some next time. Even with the itching, I had a wonderful time. I'd come back and plan on it! About driving: We called for rides and Ladera made that incedibly easy. The drivers know the rough roads and terrain. I wouldn't rec renting a car unless your comfortable with small and perilous roads. It was actaully less expensive to get rides to Anse Chastanet and excursions. Loved the superman falls and piton hikes-- we booked these through the resort as one needs a guide for almost every hike.

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies, this past October. It is a beautiful resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention Chef Orlando Satchell. He made an already special stay at Ladera even more wonderful. The room we stayed in was utterly incredible. The view of the ocean flanked by the Pitons, with the moon casting a path on the sea below was magic. It was an incredibly romantic, relaxing vacation which neither one of us wanted to end.
