South Caicos
South Caicos exists today as one of the few unspoiled tropical destinations. Among the smaller islands in the Turks and Caicos Islands, (eight square miles), South Caicos is renowned for white powder beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, ocean-side bluffs, quiet bays and salt-water flats teeming with pink flamingos. Cockburn Harbour town is home to most of the island’s eight hundred (800) residents. With Caribbean-inspired homes on narrow streets lined with native stonewalls, the village harkens back to a simpler time and lifestyle. The charming and authentic Caribbean atmosphere of a village imbued with hundreds of years of rich history and culture is a rare find in a resort destination.

Environment
Relatively untouched by humans, South Caicos’ reef system is considered the healthiest and most vibrant in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Over fifty (50) species of coral abound, with spotted eagle rays, sea turtles, grouper, snapper and dolphin fish all part of this spectacular reef system, making it a premier SCUBA diving and snorkeling destination.

The waters surrounding South Caicos offer a diverse and spectacular background. The turquoise waters to the south and east turn to a deep cobalt blue just past the coral reef system, where the water drops from fifty (50) feet to seven thousand (7000) feet. It is here where anglers find world-class offshore sport fishing for sailfish, wahoo, mahi-mahi, marlin and yellow-fin tuna. The shallow waters of Caicos Banks to the west, is considered a haven for bonefishing.

Sailrock
Sailrock is a low-density resort & residence community, set on the southern portion of Sailrock Peninsula. Situated on a ridge sixty feet above the sparkling Columbus passage to the east and the Caicos Bank to the west. Sailrock boasts spectacular sunrise and sunset views. Clean Caribbean architecture defines Great House, with large, shaded verandas, and pool decks, which place the emphasis on casual comfort and laid back outdoor living.

Reviews for Sailrock South Caicos

Rated 10 Stars on a 5-Star Scale

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

To provide a frame of reference for this review, I’ve stayed at both the Ritz and The Beverly Hills Hotel. I’ve also visited various Caribbean islands. Pros: 1. On a 5-star scale, the hospitality and service at Sailrock is 10 star. Certain team members in particular are incredible - Karlyle, Harvey, Kimberly, and Earl. They treat you like family. Nothing is too much trouble. They anticipate your needs before you realize you have a need. 2. The beach is amazing. Crystal clear water, shallow, pristine. 3. They offer complimentary non-motorized water sports (SUP, kayaks, Hobie Cats) at no additional cost. It was a huge plus for us. 4. They offer bicycles for use at no cost. We rode to town and to the old Coast Guard station. Another huge plus for us. 5. The restaurant quality is amazing - both food and service. The chef will modify meals as requested. 6. South Caicos is the best Caribbean island we have visited. Much better than Provo. The locals are very friendly, it is relatively clean, and there aren’t starving stray dogs. I believe Sailrock sponsored a spay and neuter event. This is important to me. No one wants to spend a vacation with a broken heart over poor hungry dogs. I left Provo in tears a few years ago. 7. The resort is thoughtfully designed. The Great House has amazing views in both directions. The paths between buildings are beautifully landscaped. There are no bad accommodations at the resort. We stayed in a Ridgetop suite 7D. We think 7D and 7C are ideal for 2 people. 8. The airport in South Caicos is super quick and easy to navigate. Fly directly to South Caicos from MIA via AA on Wed and Sundays. Sailrock will be there to pick you up. 9. They deliver fresh baked goods to your room each evening. Such a nice surprise. Cons: 1. If I were hard pressed to offer a con, it would have been nice if the bikes had baskets because wearing the backpack got hot. Truly, that is the only thing I can think of. Sailrock is special. It is a boutique resort experience. It is quiet and relaxing. I typically don’t return to the same places multiple times, but I do expect to return to Sailrock. It is that good.

A quiet piece of paradise.

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at Sailrock. We have been to Provo several times and were looking for the same beautiful water - however, also looking for a bit more quiet. Sailrock was perfect. The suite was exceptional. The food was excellent - which is important (there are no other readily available options). The most striking feature was the service. The staff was exceptional. We are already planning returning in 2027.

A Rare, Peaceful Escape with Stunning Beaches and Exceptional Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Peaceful, Beautiful, and Perfect for Families — A True Escape We had an incredible stay at Sailrock South Caicos. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing escape away from crowded resorts, this is a truly special place. This is not a party destination. It’s ideal for families or couples who want to unplug and spend quality time together. The property is stunning, with both sunrise and sunset beach experiences, and it never feels busy. There is no need to rush out early to reserve chairs, which immediately sets a more relaxed tone for the entire stay. We stayed in a three bedroom villa and it exceeded expectations. It was spotless, had a spa like feel, and was very well equipped with high end finishes including Bosch appliances, L’Occitane products, and a washer and dryer. The private pool was large, heated, and perfect for family time. It became a central part of our stay. The outdoor shower under the night sky was a standout experience. The Cove beach is calm, clear, and perfect for kids, while the Atlantic side offers more breeze and privacy. The sand is incredibly soft, almost like sugar. Service was excellent across the board. Staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about your experience. A special mention to Putra, the Guest Services Manager, who was incredibly responsive and made everything seamless. Dining was very good, and service was fast and friendly. That said, menus can feel a bit repetitive on longer stays, and portion sizes could be slightly larger for the price. A few small areas for improvement include more consistency with housekeeping items such as towels and laundry pods, ensuring villa pools are always at proper levels and clarity, and improving communication through email and WhatsApp, which can be slow at times. These are minor compared to the overall experience. This is the kind of place you come to slow down, not fill your schedule. It offers a level of privacy and calm that is becoming increasingly rare in Caribbean travel. We would absolutely return, with or without kids.

Unforgettable Trip to Paradise - book now - you will not regret it!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our family of 6 people with young adults had a spectacular vacation at Sailrock. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa overlooking the ocean and spent our days relaxing on the beautiful beach. We enjoyed the "all inclusive" option which was amazing since the food was delicious and drinks too! So many activities to choose from, including pickleball, biking, kayaking, sailing the Hobie cat, morning yoga (loved the instructor but forgot his name), snorkeling on a boat trip and walking along the beach. Highly recommend this beautiful and relaxing paradise. The highlight was the staff - everyone was incredibly welcoming, kind and truly went out of their way to make sure our vacation was special. Special shout out to Putra, Karlyle, Ruperto, Earl, Jerom, and Augus! Thank you all again.

Decent

We’ve been to T&C prior in May 2025. We stayed at Point Grace and South Bank. Both fantastic experiences. We trued Sailrock to see something different. I’d say two days is plenty here. While everyone was nice, and a well traveled individual I’d say the accommodations do not match the price at all. The rooms are very basic and the bed isn’t comfortable. Theres no way to reduce light on the sleeping area since the main door glares on you with a door separating the area. The only thing to do is the beach, which was fine but after two days it gets old fast. Glad we experienced it. But doubt we will return. I’d like to shout out Jose and Junior at the beach for making the trip to the beach daily welcoming and our stay memorable. Kimberly was always a pleasure at breakfast. Mica was outstanding with her culinary creations. We appreciate you all!
