The Landing SAVED our Honeymoon!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My husband and I *landed* at The Landing on the last week of May 2025, out of complete happenstance! We started out our honeymoon at The Post Marc Hotel, after seeing 4-5 rooms, each in worse condition than the last, we kindly requested a refund and left. We had no idea what to do, our honeymoon was off to a rocky start, but little did we know The Landing had us covered! We saw they had good reviews and decided to walk inside and see what it was like! We were immediately greeted by incredibly warm and outgoing staff members Charles and Serafina! They listened to our story, empathized with us, and were able to get us an amazing deal on a room! They let us walk around and take a look at it before we purchased which was much appreciated and helped in our decision making! And Charles even made sure we had a complimentary bottle of Chardonnay to “help start the honeymoon out right”, I mean what a sweetheart, so thoughtful and kind! Charles and Serafina truly made MAGIC happen for us and we could not be more grateful to them. They are the reason we had a wonderful honeymoon and we are just so thankful. After getting us situated in a fabulous room with: heated floors, heated toilet seats, jet tub, dual shower, fireplace and patio complete with mountain & lake views, we were told all about, all the perks of staying at The Landing! They have a shuttle that can take you or pick up anywhere in the local area, they had a lovely heated pool and spacious jetted spa, and we were given free beach passes to a private section of the beach! Everything was wonderful! Stephanie & Mel at the front desk checked on us each morning to see how our stay was going! From the quick and attentive housekeeping, to Kevin the wonderful conversationalist bell hop & shuttle driver, to server Aaron’s 5 star room service from Jimmy’s restaurant, even down to the little coffee kiosk in the lobby loving filled with hot chocolates, apple ciders and toppings—everything was perfect!!! And everyone made sure our experience was top notch, the hospitality was unmatched! We had such a nice time that now we won’t stay anywhere else in Tahoe, this is our new go to spot! If you have absolutely any hesitation about booking with The Landing—DON’T! When you’re at The Landing, you are truly in safe hands, with a warm and attentive staff that genuinely cares about your time there. Thank you to everyone at The Landing for providing the most incredible honeymoon experience! We will definitely be back! We were so thrilled with our stay we’re looking at coming back in November 2025 for my birthday! In a word—PHENOMENAL. 15/10

Very expensive for what it is. Do not recommend.

We were charged 700$ per night excluding all the taxes and st that price hoped for a wonderful pampering experience. On arrival we had to push through a wedding party to get to Reception where the service was perfunctory at best. No offers of help with our luggage. Female Reception staff were cool but the males were friendly and helpful. The cold water tap in our bathroom was a dribble and despite requests to fix it, nothing was done. The shower needed a degree in engineering work it - and then turn it off. We had two bathrobes and the condition of the second one was appalling and belonged in a recycling bin. Our room had a view of the lake but looked out on to a public road and the beach was behind railings . We ate at Jimmy’s restaurant on our first night and waited for 20” before being served. Food was very expensive and one of the expensive dishes comprised 3 prawns ; one of which was undercooked. We were offered coffee on the house which isn’t the point. Breakfast was good but expensive with poor service. In all, we didn’t feel welcomed and the resort was a huge and expensive disappointment. A good Manager is required to sort things out.

Great room, great views!

The Landings is a delightful hotel right on the water. We had a lakefront room with a nice patio. Beautiful view of the lake. Our room also had a sitting area with a couch. The espresso machine, heated bathroom floors, towel rack, and toilet seat were a bonus. We ate breakfast at Jimmy’s in the hotel once, it was very good. Everyone who worked at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. There is a shuttle to get around town, which we did not use. There is also a nice pool and hot tub. We all had free access to the beach across the street from our room. We would definitely stay here again.

Don’t bother!

Book in was good but hurried with a lot to remember, but hey that’s fair does. Room was good but shower was poor. There was a lovely guy (Filipino descent) who was just the nicest chap gave us a lift into the local shopping area on the shuttle bus - so far so good. But, why I’m giving this a poor review is Jimmy’s - the bar of the hotel. Basically there was a wedding on but after walking back in the heat from town we desperately wanted a nice cool drink - there is nowhere else close to get one - the barman basically ignored me and was attending to the wedding guests. I didn’t kick off cos it was a wedding but it was humiliating and degrading and I left the bar with a tear in my eye as I was so embarrassed just stood there waiting to be served - in the end we just left without a drink but will never return - we were paying guests at a hotel that wasn’t cheap and I expected more respect

Lake view Room all the way.

The landing pays attention to every detail. The espresso machine in the room, the heated bathroom floor, heated toilet set, hot tub bathtub, the shower/steam room and heated towel rack. Truly amazing amenities and I highly recommend a lake view room. Truly spectacular at sunset or durning your morning coffee. I can’t think of any reason I would stay anywhere else in Tahoe. Cheers!!
