At Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, adventures await across silvery sands, at sea, and below the water’s surface. Run into the surf from your beach pool villa, or jump into the lagoon from your over water suite. Surf, dive, picnic on a deserted island, then return to over water spa treatments and culinary journeys at our Maldives resort.

Great property. Well developed and maintained. We were 5 couples on a friendly vacation and had a ball of a time. Good staff. Was specially pleased with Chef Subodh who prepared meals as per our Indian taste for some of the vegetarians. Was also very happy with our villa host Hasnaa who went out of the way to take care of us, even on her day off. Another person who took good care of us was Aday at the Aqua bar. Other than that, the property seems to be understaffed resulting in service issues. There was always issues with Carts/buggies availability to move around the property.

This resort was absolutely amazing—everything was perfect from start to finish! We stayed in the Sunrise Villa, and it was pure paradise. The staff were super accommodating and made us feel right at home. There are plenty of activities to choose from too, including surfing packages if you’re looking for a bit of adventure. I absolutely loved our villa, especially the bathtub with an ocean view—it was definitely the highlight of the stay. A truly unforgettable experience!

Maldives or Miami? ANANTARA DHIGU is a great 5-star resort (not luxury) for families. Impeccable service, excellent cuisine across its various restaurants, plenty of activities and services, children’s programs, beautiful sea, beaches, and reef—not to mention the wonderful SPA. However, the real and unresolvable issue with this resort is its proximity to Malé, resulting in excessive air and boat/ship traffic. Adding to that is the heavily urbanized island of Maafushi, which forms the backdrop to the most beautiful side of the island to the southeast, with its tower buildings over 20 stories high! The situation doesn’t improve to the northwest either, where the small staff-designated island of Guhli also features tall, unsightly, and highly visible buildings. In conclusion, being my sixth experience in the Maldives, I can assure you that at this resort you won’t feel that unique paradise-like atmosphere typical of the Maldives… you might actually feel more like you’re in Miami. I won’t return to Anantara Dhigu and, despite the overall good service, I personally do not recommend it.

What aman amazing stay we had at Anantara Dhugi! From our check in at the lounge at the airport right through to check out everything was seamless! Arriving with a musical welcome and a cute bracelet from kids club for my daughter was a very lovely touch! Saajid our villa host was amazing, nothing was too much trouble for him, he responded straight away with queries whatever time it was and always checked in to see if we were ok and happy - How could we not be in a place like this! Our evening dinners were booked in and advance to make sure we didn’t miss out and he was very quick to book our excursions in the times to suit us, he even located misplaced items that my daughter had left behind straight away! Thank you for everything Saajid you made the whole experience wonderful! Our room was upgraded on arrival which was a lovely surprise with a stunning private pool and direct access to the beach. The sunsets from here were beautiful and I had a lovely happy birthday message with a cake and bubbles a few days later on my birthday. The food was amazing at all the restaurants including the ones located at Veli. Special thanks to smiley chef Subodh for wanting to make us our favourite Indian food for breakfast each morning which was so lovely! The red curry at the Thai restaurant was probably the best I have ever eaten and the teppanyaki wagyu steak was just incredible made by such a lovely and talented chef from Bali. The resort itself looks like something from a postcard or magazine, it is picture perfect and the beaches are pristine. We loved popping over to picnic island for lunch and a stroll along the beautiful beach, sandbank and clear waters. My daughter loved the kids club and the staff here were brilliant. Joker was really great and funny always engaging the kids, there were so many activities to keep the kids busy! She made so many friends here and loved the Easter egg hunt as she came back with a mountain of chocolate eggs to eat! Overall I would say this is probably one of the top 5 resorts we’ve been too, the service and hospitality from the staff is incredible. They remember your names, say hello when walking around and are always checking to see if you’re ok! Even the manager Ahmed would make the effort to stop and chat, it’s these touches that make the guest experiences so amazing. Thank you to all the friendly and hardworking staff here we had the most incredible time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back! :)

Our second visit - its a great resort, speedboat in 40 minutes form the airport - no waiting around for the seaplane. The villas are wonderful, we had an overwater pool villa with great views over fresh nothing, just the ocean. There is a good variety of restaurants to choose from - we always did breakfast at Cumin on Veli, which has a fantastic setting. Fire and Ice is probably the best restaurant for dinner - setting is amazing right on the ocean. The Thai is good too over the reef. Gym is good. Just a great place to switch off and recharge. Big thanks to Simah our villa host who took care of us and made all our bookings etc. We will be back for sure.
