About the Hotel

Sun-filled terraces, sandy beach, brimming swimming pool, like gifts from the moment of early dawn until the final hours of the night, to the guests of the Royal-Riviera. A cocktail of Art Deco and Neo-Hellenic influences from the immense lounge, which overlooks the Mediterranean garden redesigned by Jean Mus and the immense blue of the Mediterranean Sea. A harmony of the colours of the South of France, morning sunlight, balcony overlooking the sea and attention to detail; everything has been thought of in order to make each and every stay a wonderful memory, leaving you with a burning desire to return. With the omnipresence of the southern gardens and views of the sea, reading a book, drinking tea in the heart of the magnificent garden, everything becomes different, more calm, more beautiful than anywhere else.

Reviews for Hotel Royal Riviera

SPECTACULAR LOCATION

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We stayed a week during France’s EPIC 2026 Heat Waves. For us, location was exceptional, tho maybe not for everyone. Nice, Cannes, Saint Tropez, Antibes, etc. are west. To the east: Eze, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Menton, and further on, Italy. Walk 10 minutes uphill, pass restaurants and a lively casino, to Beaulieu-sur-Mer. Nice shops and restaurant options and the train station with svc all along the coast. Trains overfull in Summer. Walk 30 minutes the other direction along the coastal, paved path to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and a special marina area. Wonderful drink and dinner options here too. The view on this path - the sea, the cliffs, the yachts - is one to recall the rest of your life. Royal Riviera is beautiful. Valet personnel TERRIFIC! We were grateful for the wonderful pool and also the Beach Club to relax and swim in the refreshing sea. Water sports too. Bar team inside and out really excellent and gifted creating cocktails. MANY other good personnel too. Wonderful massages at the onsite spa, wished for more time for more services. A concierge was eager to provide help and very professional. The negatives: #1: even in 40C/over 100F heat, the (very good) breakfast is served OUTSIDE WITHOUT A SINGLE FAN. My fiancee’ abandoned it after 2 days, though we’d paid for it. So miserable. Our Seaview Room, with wonderful view, was surprisingly small for the big price. Really glad Valet offered to store our bags. Loved the daily unique treat left in the room - it mysteriously stopped after Day 2. There were other issues with our room, but negative experiences on arrival discouraged us reporting and having further disappointing interaction. Housekeeping all cordial and working hard, but probably require more training. A bad odor came from the sink drain all week. And apparently no one checks if the room’s toilet brushes are clean. AWFUL! I messaged ahead we booked through Amex, with benefits. On arrival, weary from heat, long drive, trouble finding the hotel, we were immediately told we couldn’t check in early, we couldn’t be upgraded, then asked if we’d depart early so the next guests COULD check in early. :-( 1st dinner in the restaurant, we ordered the BBQ’d meat. After a few bites, we thought they forgot the BBQ sauce or brought the wrong dish. The server said, “Since you’re American, maybe you don’t understand what BBQ is.” Then she questioned why we ate any of it though more than half was left. Wha-a-a-a-t? Wouldn’t that be like an American server at a luxury resort telling a French couple they don’t know wine? Our first day didn't set a good tone, for sure, so we needed to let it go. With the location, pool, sea, and other great personnel we did recover from the insults vs. wreck our trip. But, for the cost, the hotel could “up” service training - sorry, but please "encourage" that server to find a new vocation. Or send her to a state in the Southern U.S. to understand what Americans know about BBQ. AND BUY A FEW "DOMO" FANS!

Our New Favorite Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I would give RR a six star rating if I could. The staff, facilities, our rooms for my wife and two children, the service, the attention to our every need … above and beyond. We stay at luxury hotels all over the world and Europe and this was our first visit in Saint Jean Cap Ferat and after spending almost one full week there, we will make it a point to come back every year. We loved the hotel, the bucolic location, and the pristine amenities but most of all was the staff. The concierge staff was like no other hotel in the world. They facilitated every experience all Cote de Azur has to offer. I hope they don’t mind me posting them personally but Dries and Loic in concierge were amazing and Camille in reception was always attentive, friendly, and helpful. This review does not sufficiently describe the professionalism and competence of the staff. As stated previously we will be back every summer and we look forward to seeing the friendly faces there to greet us.

The best experience in the South of France!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The highlight of our trip to the South of France! The staff was fantastic and so friendly. Our room exceeded our expectations (and the AC was the best we had in France which was important during the heatwave!). The concierge was also very helpful in making us reservations in advance of the stay. We would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the South of France!
