IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel Rose Hall

We just spent an absolutely glorious 6 days at JOIA and hope to go back again in the future. We had booked a partial ocean view room, but upon arrival, they upgraded us to an ocean *front* room with a butler! The view was breathtaking. The hotel staff were all outstanding, so professional and kind and friendly. Our butlers Rushane and Jaime were particularly excellent and went above and beyond. The property itself is beautiful, clean, nicely landscaped, and well-maintained. We loved the food - there is a mix of à la carte restaurants and buffet restaurants on the resort. We usually have modest expectations for buffets, but these were the best buffets we have ever experienced. Honestly pretty fancy! The beach was gorgeous and the pool was also lovely, although slightly chilly. There’s a swim up bar, of course :) The hotel provides sunscreen at the towel stand! I appreciated how quiet and laid back the vibe was, overall. I am not here for the club, I am here to read novels and gaze at the ocean! The music did get a little loud late in the day and I wish it had not. I always want the music at resorts to be less loud, but that might be an unusual preference of mine. It was not a big deal. A couple of pro tips: - Bring more cash USD than you think you need for tipping the staff. At other resorts I’ve stayed at in Jamaica, it was easy to withdraw extra cash from an ATM and make change for small bills at reception. Here, the ATM was out of order the whole time we were there, and as a result, the reception desk was often short on cash. We wanted to be tipping all the staff for doing such a great job! - Show up on the earlier side (by about 7pm) for dinner in order to avoid a long wait for a table at the à la carte restaurants. The only one that takes reservations is the Japanese hibachi restaurant, otherwise it’s first come, first served.

All staff are very friendly especially at the guest services who answered all our questions. Basiene the Guest Services Manager was amazing, so too Taneil, Sue-Yen among others. We will definately return and we hope to see them all when we return

Beachfront bliss. It was far enough away from other resorts to feel like paradise. We came with a large group of family and having the butlers was absolutely crucial. Alaine, Andre, and Travis were so helpful for us to get seats all together and make our stay fantastic. The rooms were clean and really nice. It was fairly quiet and I loved that we were able to go to other resorts in the complex if we wanted a more party atmosphere.

Andre, Alain, and Travis were our butlers, and they were fantastic! Helped with getting into restaurants and saving spots by the pool for us. Room service was phenomenal, and the overall experience was amazing. Would definitely come back here again.
