This is a downtown-style hotel. Classical, not modern. Very tastefully done. The rooms might need a little refreshing, but it was not bad, either. The room we had was large for the era of the building. The valet was fast. We were in-and-out overnight, so we didn't use any of the amenities, but the bar at least looked decent. I plan to try this place again when I have more time.

Loved the hotel and our view. The charred salmon salad was great as was the rest of dinner. The staff was very accommodating to help us get our car out of the garage before the valet staff arrived as we got a call that our 9:30 flight was delayed several hours, so we hopped out of bed and made it to a 6am flight. Thank you.

This is not my first stay here. I don’t know what’s happened, but the service was disappointing. My room temperature was 75, despite the thermostat set at 68. It was so hot I couldn’t sleep. The room was dirty. The outlets and mirrored lights didn’t work in the bathroom. The faucet on the shower was stuck closed. My breakfast was served without key ingredients. The bar, which was posted to stay open until 10:30pm, closed early (I arrived before 9pm) without reason. I was unable to order food, but could take my glass of wine to my room. As I was preparing to leave and ordering my Uber, the attendant said I should use the waiting taxi. He assured me it would be the same price (I told him Uber was $25). I confirmed that I could pay with Apple Pay as I do not carry cash. He said yes. The taxi was dirty and seemed to be in disrepair but the driver very nice. Unfortunately, the price was $20 more than the Uber. When I went to pay, he had no Apple Pay option. I used my emergency credit card but was unable to use that to leave a tip. Thus, my poor driver was left without a tip. The location and outward charm of the hotel are the same as before—very nice and special. It’s just disappointing that customer comfort and service has fallen behind.

Great historic hotel atmosphere. Very comfortable room with a panoramic view of the city (room 1015), perfect center city location. Excellent value.
