Great historic hotel atmosphere. Very comfortable room with a panoramic view of the city (room 1015), perfect center city location. Excellent value.

Gorgeous hotel. Great location. Fabulous bar. Reasonably priced. I would highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

We went to a concert at the Xcel Center and stayed at the St. Paul Hotel. Location can’t be beat as it is easy walking distance from the arena. The lobby is lovely. Beautiful old hotel. Parking is mandatory $40 valet, but considering we went to the concert, that would have been what we paid. Check in was quick and efficient. Staff is friendly. The negative is the room. It’s old, tired and in desperate need of renovation (I’m guessing last renovation was in the 80s). Bathroom is old with a tiled tub with a shower curtain. Our bed was weirdly close to the wall, and I had to squeeze by to get by. I’m not sure there are better options in St. Paul, but I’d try somewhere else next time.

This is by far the BEST place to stay in St Paul. It is conveniently located. Every staff member from the doormen who greet you to the front desk to the bar and grill are the best people. Everyone makes an effort to get to know you and makes you comfortable. The food in the restaurant is outstanding. We have been there several times, and I love the wild mushroom soup. The steaks are always done to perfection. I would always stay there without question.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner and stay at the St Paul Grill and the St Paul Hotel. The valet parking is great and the friendliness of the staff is terrific. We even got a lovely chocolate dessert gratis for our anniversary (it was delicious).
