About the Hotel

A 17-room country house retreat and boutique winery in the Franschhoek valley, Leeu Estates rests on acres of vineyards, magnificent mountain vistas and a garden that transforms the act of wandering into a mystical experience. Careful attention to detail is prevalent throughout the property. The individually styled bedrooms feature superbly comfortable beds with high quality linens, and are decorated with sisal carpets, soft curtains and natural upholstery that contributes to the relaxed yet sophisticated feel. The generous marble-clad en-suite bathrooms have double vanities, rain showers, heated towel rails and underfloor heating as standard. The Dining Room with its airy and spacious conservatory encourages long, leisurely meals savored with a fine South African vintage from the cellar.

Fantastic stay in Franschhoek - worth every ZAR

We stayed here for three nights after our safari prior to heading back home. The place is gorgeous. It’s very elegant but all the staff are very engaging and friendly. The Dining Room is amazing for dinner and the little cottage we had was just very pleasant and relaxing. The staff arranged a day hike with transport to the trail head complete with a picnic lunch for the trail and provided in-town dinner recommendations for one night when the hotel restaurant had a private event. I’d love to come here annually - even in the off season where it was largely a ghost town - too bad it’s 10,000 miles from home!

A truly magnificent stay in a beautiful setting. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, professional, and attentive. The property itself is elegant and beautifully maintained, with lovely areas to sit and enjoy a good coffee. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and stylish, and they offer an excellent breakfast. The location is also very central, which made everything easy and convenient. We especially appreciated the complimentary shuttle service for dinner when booking at one of their restaurants. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable peaceful stay just outside Franschoek. Easy walk into pretty town but hotel also has a shuttle. Good breakfast, very good spa, clean spacious rooms in a cottage, interesting garden tour, friendly staff

Beautiful property and grounds

Gorgeous grounds, vineyard and sculpture. Beautiful hotel. The staff was welcoming. The chef prepared delicious breakfasts-with lots of variety and everything was so fresh. Added bonus, one of the top 50 restaurants in the world is on the property. And there is a wine tasting room. Excellent all around. Would love to go back.
