About the Hotel

Ett Hem was once a private residence, built in 1910. The people who built it had a propensity for beauty, and they left their mark on this townhouse, situated in a peaceful, residential area of Stockholm. This Arts and Crafts building is a tranquil home away from home, steeped in the Scandinavian aesthetics where functionality meets beauty. With twelve rooms, Ett Hem offers discerning guests comfortable interiors and bedrooms full of summery whiteness of light. Outdoors, the courtyard garden is a secret city wilderness that is the perfect place for summer breakfasts or winding down in the evening over a chilled bottle of wine.

Incredible staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Incredible hotel, definitely one of best in the world. The staff are what make the hotel. Anybody who plans to open a hotel should stay at Ett Hem to see how well they train their staff. Next level. The only issue is that the food is soooo good u don’t want to eat anywhere else:) breakfast is amazing. The well stocked sweet/candy cupboard is also the best!

Very impressed with everything in the hotel. The hotel and staff exceeded all expectations. The rooms, the food, the living rooms in the hotel are all impeccable.

Quiet luxury and warm service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

The property feels more like a private home than a standard hotel. Everything was spotless, staff were attentive, and the atmosphere made it easy to unwind after busy sightseeing days.

Sadly, lost its lustre.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

Sadly lost its lustre. Comfort is lost for ‘design’ - the only comfortable chairs are in the kitchen, or one armchair. Others are way too low or have an edge to the seat. Staff not up to speed - one showing me around expected me to climb one of the many stair cases (there is one lift but that doesn’t cover steep stone front or garden access) when I use a stick. I couldn’t reach blockout blind in room - a staff member had to climb up on the quaint but rock hard wooden desk chair, with his shoes on, to be able to reach the cord. No understanding that maybe there was a situation that should be addressed rather than calling staff! Two staff couldn’t decide whether guests allowed to take e.g. slippers or notepaper on leaving or had to pay for them! Trial toiletries unusable as all pre-used with goop around the openings and dirty. The only highlight was the food which was delectable. Very expensive for basically dinner and breakfast and a comfy bed.
