Reviews for Radisson Collection Strand Hotel, Stockholm

Lovely hotel in a great location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I rated 4 rather than 5 because the bathroom was possibly the smallest I’ve ever used in a hotel this standard. Beds comfy and particularly nice bedding and aircon. Nice nespresso in room and good service

Great Location but not 5–Star!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel has an absolutely fantastic location and was the perfect base from which to explore Stockholm. In terms of location alone, it is difficult to imagine many better choices. However, I expected considerably more from a five-star property when it comes to the rooms and the overall condition of the hotel. The building is clearly showing its age, and signs of wear and tear are visible throughout. The corridors leading to the rooms looked worn, with paint peeling from the decorative moldings on the walls. The rooms were relatively small, which would not have been an issue if they had been exceptionally well-equipped or particularly modern. Unfortunately, they were neither. While they were clean, they felt dated and fell well short of what one would reasonably expect from a five-star hotel. There were no bathrobes or slippers provided, although at least there was a coffee machine. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The folding shower felt more like something one would expect in a prison cell than in a luxury hotel. Every time I took a shower, the entire bathroom floor—and sometimes parts of the room—ended up flooded, which was extremely frustrating. I was also unimpressed by the messaging encouraging guests not to change their towels because it supposedly “saves lives.” Please do not disguise cost-saving measures as environmental activism. Most guests are perfectly willing to support genuine sustainability initiatives, but they should be presented honestly. The room service offering was equally underwhelming and far below the standard I would expect from a hotel in this category. In summary, the only aspect of this hotel that truly deserves five stars is its location. The hotel itself is, at best, a three-star property in its current condition. On a positive note, the staff at check-out were exceptionally friendly, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience at check-in was quite the opposite, and I did not feel particularly welcome upon arrival. As a Radisson Rewards member, I also found the membership benefits to be negligible. Overall, while the location was outstanding, the hotel itself fell significantly short of the expectations associated with a five-star Radisson Collection property.

You should choose the other Stockholm Radisson if you can

I am definitely disappointed. The worst experience of the brand Radisson in the world. Unfortunately, I have spent three nights prior the stay at Strad at another Radisson hotel in Stockholm - The Waterfront. The Strada has only one positive - the location. But services don't respect that you pay significantly more at Strand. The staff (front desk, breakfast, cleaning,...) acted very coldly. Unfortunately, every morning while leaving my room I was blocked by door-blocks used by the cleaning staff at the next room and the cleaning staff acted as this is their normal. But the assortment at breakfast was half from the other Radisson. Rooftop bar - closed. Just happy I could safe leave this hotel.

Lovely service and beautiful location. Roof top bar was a really cool addition. Would definitely stay again if we came back to Stockholm.

Never again with Radisson, anywhere.

My daughter, who lives in New York, and I met in Stockholm to celebrate both of our birthdays together, with plans to spend this special occasion in both Stockholm and Copenhagen. This trip was very important to us — it had been planned for a long time, and we had carefully organized every detail to make it memorable. Unfortunately, the hotel ruined the experience from the very beginning. Even before our arrival, they did not even bother to reply to my request for an early check-in and instead sent only an automatic message offering us the option to pay for check-in in advance. When we arrived, the situation became even worse. The receptionist was an extremely unpleasant and unfriendly young woman, and despite the special occasion, there was absolutely no willingness to accommodate us or show even the smallest gesture of hospitality. We had to wait for the standard check-in procedure with no flexibility at all. The room itself was freezing cold, and the heating was terrible. Their solution was to bring us a small portable heater, which we had to step over in the middle of the room. Honestly, this was shocking for a five-star hotel in the middle of a major European capital. After that, we traveled to Copenhagen, where we had the perfect comparison — the service, attention to guests, and the entire hotel experience were ten light-years ahead. Never again with Radisson, anywhere.
