Villa Dagmar is a beautiful and creative home for the curious traveler who is seeking a hotel in Stockholm with both heart and soul in a chic and conscious part of the city, next door to the historic Ostermalms saluhall. An inviting boutique hotel and a vibrant meeting place, where personal service is combined with restaurant experiences by two of Sweden’s most innovative and award-nominated restaurateurs, a combined concept and flower shop plus Dagmar Spirit & Retreat and fitness center. The hotel is also an inspiring environment for events and meetings. Villa Dagmar offers an exclusive and international hotel experience in the heart of Ostermalm in Stockholm and is part of the same family as Hotel Diplomat.

We have stayed at this hotel before and its location is ideal. It is a luxury hotel and we visit Stockholm frequently and as we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a stay at this lovely hotel again. The ambience of the hotel is perfect and the ‘outside in’ restaurant and bar is so relaxing.

The hotel is wonderful. We like smaller boutique hotels. Villa Dagmar didn’t disappoint in any way. In fact, it was everything we like/wanted. Food was wonderful. Breakfast buffet and variety of eggs and hot items to order were great. Lunch and dinner were also great. Hotel was wonderfully clean. Service was impeccable from check-in to check-out.

We had a beautiful room with a living room connected. We both loved the room, the hotel and the restaurant! I wanted to give a shout-out of appreciation especially to Sophia who assisted us several times with anything from plane and train tickets to restaurants etc. She was professional, kind and knew exactly what to do and how to help. She was wonderful! I hope she's there if we return!

The property is beautiful. The receptionist on Saturday night around 8 pm was an absolute joy and a breath of fresh air, especially after I had just walked the entire city- the latter part of my day with my suitcase coming from another hotel (Scandic, exceptional service, especially by the overnight fill-in, Kennedy, at Scandic 53). I was happily surprised to learn that my booking included the sauna bath, which I unfortunately did not have enough time to explore. The spa menu is really beautiful; again, I wish I could have enjoyed the bath before heading out to another hotel the following day. The spa was booked the following day (Sunday); however, the receptionist Sunday morning managed to find an additional practitioner, but I had already confirmed services at another hotel before I finished my breakfast. The receptionist Sunday morning and her colleague were so professional and warm, and I very much appreciated their warm demeanor despite being so young. The breakfast was DIVINE. The head server was incredibly nice and professional. Having dietary restrictions, the chef personally offered to help tailor my breakfast and seemed sincerely happy to rise to the challenge. The spread at the buffet was fresh and colorful, featuring traditional baked breads and more. The à la carte menu is beautifully curated, serving all tastes masterfully. I enjoyed the chia bowl and avocado toast (the ultra luxe version). I asked if the eggs were locally raised, and I was happy to hear they were, so I also had fresh eggs added to my order. My standard room - I took a chance and booked the only accommodation they had available. I initially thought the price was a big investment but went ahead anyway, considering it was a same-day booking during the height of their peak season. Being particularly sensitive to cleanliness, this hotel did not disappoint, and the bed was extremely comfortable. As a solo traveler, I felt safe walking around Sweden at night, especially since the sun does not fully set in July, and this area in particular was close enough to walk to nightlife hotspots but quiet enough to get rest. The fill-in receptionist overnight at the hotel didn't seem particularly enthused about being there. Maybe he was having a bad week. Considering I had already spent two nights elsewhere around the city, I do not think his personality reflected the friendly Swedish service I was getting used to. I will say, the guests here were not as international as the numerous places I went to around the city the three full days and nights - it seemed like a safe place for mid-aged female groups, American couples, and even the overnight fill-in to act like snobs. Again, he was a fill-in; he did act passive-aggressive, despite my friendliness (the Swedish nature is contagious- even for this NY'er), which turned me off and is why I decided to spend my last night in Stockholm at the Grand Hotel and do the spa there. With more time, I would revisit this place again, and was truly impressed with all the details. Thank You!
