I’m currently staying at the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe. It’s in a cute location in town and has parking, restaurants and a nice pool. My particular room has a balcony overlooking the pool which is nice as well. And when I checked in the young man working was very detailed in helping me plan my afternoon. But I am only giving this hotel 3/5 because my room is a bit outdated and the room is quite musty and the air conditioner doesn’t seem that cold, so it’s made my room a bit uncomfortable. Also the door is hard to open and close and some random person walked in my room when I was in the bathroom. The dinner restaurant could have been wonderful, but the hostess was kind of rude when I asked to sit outside. She came up with like three different excuses for why she couldn’t seat me outside and then when we went out there every table except three were empty. She claimed they were all reserved (I ate at 5 pm and was out of there by 6 pm), but when I came back to my room (and my balcony stared at the restaurant’s outdoor seating), there were empty tables all night - so not sure what her deal was - but it wasn’t a positive experience given how light tourism is in Stowe at the moment. Hope others have a better experience! I was going to add onto my stay an extra night, but now, I am ready to leave.

Welcoming staff, great room, great location. Got a beautiful two-room suite for an anniversary getaway, and staff (Rye) was thoughtful and personalized in greeting us on arrival. Loved the location. Pool and jacuzzi were great after active day. Whip was excellent for dinner, and close proximity to rec path and local spots made everything easy! Highly recommend!

Large hotel in downtown Stowe , walk everywhere with excellent service, clean rooms and very good restaurant. Especially nice to sit out back which has a pool, fire pits, seating and tables to bring a drink or get food with service.

We came for dinner on our last night. It looks like a charming, old time inn. Two of us had the fish and chips and my husband had the prime rib. In spite of the small wait even with reservations, since they were controlling the number of customers as to not back up the kitchen, our meals came in a timely fashion and nice and hot. Our waitress was personable and efficient.

My wife an I have been going here since 1988 when we lived in Lake Placid. We started going with our big family to get away and enjoy VT. So, my wife and I made it a point to each each year come back and celebrate our anniversary here which was our 47th. Well, when we booked it, we didn't know this time, the Green Mountain Inn had some problems with reservationists misrepresenting the Inn. Bottom line, when we arrived, Matthew, was outstanding and he got us into a really nice room out back. Town is not busy at all during mud season and we love coming here when its their down time. The staff is outstanding and Jenn who has served us numerous times is just delightful to talk with in the morning. We enjoyed our hikes, shopping, dining out and our interaction with the staff. If you make a reservation, call them up as suggested and they will take care of you. We look forward to visiting next time.
