This place did not live up to our expectations. Most notably, our pool experience was a disaster and was enough to mar our vacation. There are no posted rules or staff supervision which, combined with lack of parent supervision, resulted in unruly children causing a much-less than relaxing pool atmosphere. There were kids eating (and dropping) ice cream sandwiches in the hot tub, throwing (and leaving) plastic cups into the pool, leaving shoes, towels, etc. in walking areas and on stairs. For the amount this property boasts a relaxing atmosphere, we were really disappointed in this aspect. We also found the village areas to be lackluster at best. Many shops were closed for the season or abandoned all together, leaving more of an abandoned outlet mall vibe than a luxury resort. The restaurants have weird hours (close at 5??) and random days open/closed. And 2 of the days we were there the lawn was also closed for private events. All things considered, we were disappointed with our experience and left wondering how this place got rated one of the top resorts in the Northeast.

Unfortunately we did not have the best experience at this property. There were a number of issues throughout our stay ranging from a front desk agent who was not familiar with the benefits of the Hyatt Prive rate we had booked, a room that hadn't been properly cleaned or serviced from the previous guests, and a porch door that didn't lock. While they subsequently changed our room, and thankfully this one was clean, had a door that locked, and soap in the shower, we wasted quite a bit of time on the first day of our trip going back and forth with the front desk to get these issues resolved (i.e. maintenance initially checked and falsely claimed the door locked when it was clearly broken....). I would note that Josh, the bartender at the Tipsy Trout was great. Overall, it was a very underwhelming and at times upsetting stay, and for the price they charge, I don't feel it was a good value.

The pillows are the fluffiest that we ever slept on, but unfortunately, I had a different pillow due to neck problems. The bed was very comfortable just the right amount of sheets, clean crisp. We were not too hot and not too cold just right. I just remembered there was one small little detail. The sliding door In our roomdid not lock, but the screen door did.
