The Lodge at Spruce Peak

Very clean, lovely views, room amply sized but a desk/chair would have been nicer than more drawer space. Noise level for sleeping was fine but the noise throughout the open lobby was intense as they had a big group, and they were LOUD. This noise permeated the entire lobby and the Alpine Hall where we ate dinner. Housekeeping quickly brought things we needed, the bedding was the silkiest we've ever had, nicely-decorated rooms, and the a/c worked great.

I had the timberland suite with 4 people. Room was satisfactory. Parking was $48, pool had many floaters, staff was unresponsive, would prefer not to interact with them…

The resort is lacking in maintenance. When we entered our room the first thing we noticed was that the bathroom barn door was off its guide on the bottom and was very hard to close. Later we went to go put belongings in the safe and the batteries were dead. Needless to say you could not use the safe. Upon coming back to our room later in the evening the lamp behind the chair had a burnt out bulb which we didn’t know when we first entered the room . None of this was anything that would make our stay unbearable but the question is , who is checking the rooms before they allow them to become occupied. It also was not the cleanest in the common areas . Not sure if they have limited staff due to it being a fall/winter resort and it’s summer. Just was not impressed with it.

Beautiful property but uncharacteristically surly staff, especially at the dining places. The breakfast server at Alpine was especially rude for no apparent reason. He seemed very put off that we declined the buffet and asked to order off the menu. And the cashier at the Pantry likewise was terrible.she actually scoffed when I didn’t tip her for buying a bottle of wine from a convenience store-type setup. (No table service in the Pantry—it’s a wine shop where you select the wine yourself and bring it to the register. Why on earth would you expect a tip in a situation like that?) Such a beautiful property with so much wasted potential given the consistent subpar—and even hostile—customer service.

Staff was phenomenal bedroom was beautifully designed and very clean. Upon our arrival they put out dog beds treats and toys in our room for our pups!
