Ajwa Hotel Sultanahmet

We stayed in the Deluxe French Vertical Greenery View room which was perfect for 2 people. Spacious, quiet room, comfortable bed and a beautiful bathroom. Hotel is in a good location to walk to grand bazaar and other locations in Sultanahmet, or to access the tram. We had the buffet breakfast and ate dinner in the restaurant on one night. All of the food was delicious and well prepared with a great amount of choice. The hotel facilities are separated by allocated times for each gender to use, something to bear in mind if you prefer a spa or sauna as a couple. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating- they couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

My wife and I had a very wonderful experience here. The staff was very accommodating, welcoming, and super helpful for anything we needed. The rooms are immaculate and the hotel is full of class in its entirety. The location allows for you to see Istanbul with ease. I will recommend to all friends and family.

Excellent hotel! Beautiful inside, very comfortable rooms, great location close to main attractions like the grand bazaar and Blue Mosque. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Special thanks to Mustafa for making me feel comfortable when I arrived exhausted.

A lovely hotel in a good location. My room was nice. Food good but super expensive. This place gets two stars only because of the accommodations and service while at the property. However I recommend not staying at this property. I had a terrible time reserving my room and communicating with the reservation staff. The problems were endless. I reserved my room with AMEX. I found out 2 months later that they don’t accept AMEX and they want payment on a different card. I put the second payment on my VISA card. A week later they tell me my payment didn’t go through. I check my VISA statement and the charge is posted. I call VISA and they say the charge is paid. I tell the folks at AJWA about this and they claim they haven’t received the money and if I want my room I need to pay on another card on a link they sent me. You may ask why I continued to try to get the room after this nonsense. I was traveling with friends and they were lucky enough not to have this extended payment problem—theirs was shorter and simpler. So they keep sending me links and really don’t want to try a third time. I offer to wire the money or pay when I arrive, explaining that I am traveling with friends and will show up. They respond with another payment link. I ask our guide in Istanbul to check in with them. She speaks to the accounting department who again claim they haven’t received my payment and if I don’t pay again they won’t hold the room for me. So I reluctantly paid on one of those links and thankfully it worked out. But I just got off the phone with VISA and filed my dispute for the first charge. VISA says they 100 percent received the payment. I have since learned this hotel has a bad reputation in Istanbul as being arrogant and hard to work with. It actually made me feel better to learn this because I was so deeply frustrated trying to communicate with them.
