Reviews for Ajwa Hotel Sultanahmet

An exceptional stay at AJWA Sultanahmet

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We stayed in this magnificent hotel in November 2025. Our expectations were exceeded. We stayed in a Sultan Suite. On arriving we were met by staff members who swiftly and comfortably facilitated our check-in. We were even greeted by the hotel's GM. This included refreshments of tea and Turkish delights. Our Sultan Suite was simply remarkable. It was spacious, clean, tidy and provided beautiful views of Old Town Istanbul. The bed was always inviting and the linen and towels were soft and "hugged you" most comfortably. The toileteries were world class. We diddnpt encounter any noise issues. I loved the sauna in the huge bathroom which we used everyday of the week we were there. Breakfast buffet provided for an ample selection and the attention provided by service staff was quick, unobtrusive and always with a smile. The views from the restaurant situated on the top floor of the hotel was breathatking. The concierge team of Mari, Volkan & Omer were amazing....they assisted us with maximising our stay and seeing what must be seen. Additionally, they provided us with shuttle service to recommended restaurants. The Bell, Front Desk and Guest Relations Teams are a credit to themselves and the hotel. All staff were most respectful, totally accommodating and immaculatly presentably. It is difficukt to single out any employee of this magnificent hotel for a special mention as each one raised the benchmark....totally recommend this hotel.

The perfect stay

What a lovey boutique hotel , with a pool, spa , sauna and Hammam!! It’s amazing how promptly shuttles were booked in for us , free of cost to travel to Sultan Ahmet. It’s a 5 min walk from the tram and also from the Grand bazar. Very hospitable staff including the bell captain’s team and the reception staff ! High quality , hygienic Spa . Additionally, icing on the cake is the picturesque dining area with a stellar view of the sea. A special shout out to. Halima who was especially lovely to our family . Perfect for families who would like to book the whole pool for the family and prefer separate male and female pool timings . God willing , will keep coming !

Amazing hotel with amazing staff and top-notch service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed a couple of nights in Ajwa Sultanahmet Hotel in Dec 2025. I love the hotel….its very clean, the room is spacious, pretty and affordable. Totally love the atmosphere. The staff is commendable; Aytac, Yasin, Mustafa, Halima and all others actually (apologies as I couldn’t remember all the names). The staff is AMAZING. They helped us throughout our stay….they made it so easy for us that it makes our journey so smooth. Their service is tip-top. As for the location, it’s not exactly smack in the middle of the shopping area but I find the location accessible to many places….at the start we took awhile to find the tram but it’s actually 7-10mins walk from the hotel (if you walk correctly and definitely need to walk up the slope). Once you find the tram, you are generally accessible to many places including the attractions. Around the hotel itself, there are many restaurants….so when we got hungry we just grab a bite near the hotel. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wanna go Istanbul.

A solid wood experience

I’ve clocked over 400 nights in hotels over the past 5 years. This one was special. It’s smaller than I expected, which is actually more of a feature than a drawback. The rooms are beautiful and the lighting is perfect. The location is within walking distance to all the best historic spots, yet away from the worst of the tourist traps. The wait staff is great. I would highly recommend.

AJWA Clock House

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This review is about the Clock House, a AJWA Home part of AJWA Sultanahmet. The house is about a 10 minute uphill walk to the main hotel where you check in/out and the facilities there are available for your use. An on demand shuttle is provided to transport you between the hotel and house. Check in was quick and the concierge whatsapp number was shared. The concierge team was very prompt in attending to queries and requests. The house has 4 levels. Basement with kitchen/dining room, bathroom with toilet, tub and sauna for 4. Ground level dining room, king bedroom with attached shower and toilet, and powder room. First level with king bedroom with attached shower and toilet, twin bedroom with attached toilet. The roof level was a glass covered living room and open terrace. All levels were connected by a spiral staircase. Every room had beautiful carpets (they appeared to be available for sale because they had price tags attached). It was very spacious and comfortable. The partial view of the sea from the terrace during sunset was a wow. The house was equipped with an advanced electronic control system controlling the lights, climate, blinds and even underfloor heating. There were also small details where every hand, face, bath towel and bath robe was kept in its own cloth bag with the description embroidered on it. Toiletries were branded Molton Brown. The water pressure in the showers were good and the beds were comfortable. Every room was provided with a reading lamp and vanity mirror. The sauna was a real treat after a long day sightseeing. Wifi signal was good and fast enough for streaming. There were 2 TVs - in the ground level living room and roof level living room. There were many TV channels but only 1 English language channel appeared to be available. The kitchen had a fridge dishwasher stove and tea coffee maker. Bottled water was amply replenished upon request. (A dozen 750ml bottles appeared upon request).  The hot breakfast buffet changed daily and hot a la carte eggs, crepes and pancakes were available. The concierge arranged walking tour of Sultanahmet and van tour of Istanbul were informative and breathtaking. Every staff member was kind and warm. Overall it was a good and unique stay despite some minor issues.  The house was located in a slightly run down neighbourhood and had a pile of building debris next to it (albeit hidden by a carpet grass wall). Taxi and Uber drivers had difficulty finding it and we often had to figure out which end of the road the house was on for pick up and drop off. Motorcycles belonging to residents or guests of other hotels adjacent would be parked along the perimeter of the house. All the sinks in the toilets except basement bathroom were small and so facial toiletries had to be set on the dressing table outside. Toilet seats in two toilets were wobbly. Control panels for the sauna and underfloor heating in the toilets had the wrong date/time. The underfloor heating for the roof level was not operational. The spiral staircase posed a challenge when bringing up luggage so they were left on the ground level. I am sure the staff would have helped to bring them up but we did not want to trouble them. Visited the hotel gym but did not use it because it had limited strength equipment. Dumbbells maxed out at 12kg and it had a single cable machine of an unfamiliar design. For cardio there was an elliptical,  treadmill and cycle.
