Nihi Sumba Island

This place is off charts! Every single details is well done, staff is amazing, food is excellent and all the activities are just exceptional. We are lucky to travel around the world and to many beautiful places but Nihi is now our favourite place and we can’t wait to plan our next visit. We had two butlers Assisting is 24h/7 Travelled with 3 young kids and they were crying when we had to leave. Hihi is more than just a holiday it’s truly a one in a lifetime experience. There are not enough stars, not enough room here to adequately convey the excellence of every aspect of this trip—the location, the accommodations, the excursions, the guides, the hostesses, wait staff, EVERYTHING. And everything we experienced there (massage, mani/pedi, food, drink etc., was the best we’d ever had, with abundant variety offered). For me, it was PARADISE. The warmest, sweetest people I have ever encountered, who genuinely delight in assuring your experiences are the most pleasant possible. If there is any possible way for you to go, GO!!! NOW!!! I almost regret telling people to go, because I don’t want to see it become any more populated or commercial. But, for the sake of this fabulous resort, I will overcome my reluctance and give an honest review. I’ve traveled all over and this is the nicest place I have ever stayed with penultimate service.

The staff goes above and beyond to make every moment special, with an incredible attention to detail. The villas are stunning, and the food is exceptional. What really makes NIHI stand out is the soul of the place: the connection to Sumba’s culture, the care for the island and its community, and of course, the unforgettable moments with the horses. Can’t recommend it enough — I’m already dreaming of coming back!
