When you enter the lobby area you get the sense that your stay is going to be luxurious and quite the experience. However, that experience stops right there! The rooms are extremely dated and dreary. Stained chairs, unclean bathrooms and unclean carpets. We had to change rooms as they placed us right next to the clock tower that would ring the bell every few minutes! You could not sleep!! The second room they moved us to was horrendous! On arrival the bathroom sink was blocked! No place to plug the kettle to make a cup of tea and side table was chipped everywhere. They say black out curtains but there’s so much light coming through from the curtains it disrupts your sleep! And towels smelled liked oil. Breakfast was abysmal! Apart from the hot items, egg station and the friendly chef making the eggs, every other item is not 5 star standard! The pastries were dry and stale, no hot water to even make a cup of tea! The in house food was revolting! We ordered the Korean fried chicken - while it looked good from the outside, it was not palatable, just horrendous. Do these people actually taste the food before putting these items on the menu??! The bed is comfortable but the pillows are flat, uncomfortable and unsupportive to your neck! There are so many things wrong with this hotel, too long to list. However, it was the staff that saved our stay - by their service and attentiveness. They try so hard to make up for what the hotel is lacking. This hotel is no where near a 5 star hotel. It is no where near worth the price you pay for. This place is that one hotel where you really need to read the bad reviews - to help save your money.
