Reviews for The Fullerton Hotel Sydney

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

Extremely disappointing and not worth the price. The room was outdated, and we paid an extra $90 for a two-hour early check-in due to attending a wedding. The front desk staff were robotic and lacked any warmth or personality. Breakfast was chaotic, with a 20 minute wait just to be seated. We were wrongly charged for minibar items we did not use, and despite multiple emails it took 10 days to receive a refund. While the location was good, the overall experience was poor value and unacceptable for a hotel at this price point.

Great location to experience the city!

Amazing stay at NYE, the hotel was superb! We book a mid floor room but ended up on the 30th - fantastic view!. Whilst we didn’t sample the cuisine here, due to the vast number of local locations all other elements were great. It is ideally located for the harbours with a 5 min to the circular quay and 15 mins to darling harbour! The rocks was our favourite area for lunch, drinks with a really nice chilled vibe. Top end shops in the same street, so overall a great place to base to experience the city

Couple from Sydney

Hotel is right in the heart of Sydney, easy walking distance to pretty much everything. Room was extremely spacious, we chose Heritage room which is in the old GPO. There was large King bed, feather pillows, A/C, separate shower, toilet, vanity, huge bathtub, walk in robe & all other facilities you would expect in a top hotel. Breakfast buffet was perfect, staff very nice. All in all we enjoyed our stay & will definitely be back.

This is how luxury hospitality should feel: calm, generous, thoughtful, and effortlessly excellent.

This year for our Xmas stay in Sydney we decided to change hotels (a risk!) — which made me genuinely nervous. We usually stay elsewhere for Christmas in the city, but after enjoying the Fullerton brand in Singapore, we thought we’d give it a go. Thank goodness we did. The The Fullerton Hotel Sydney was an absolute breath of fresh air. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt beautiful, calm, elegant, and immaculately run. We stayed in a Club Lounge access room, and it was superb: • Very spacious room • Spotlessly clean • Beautiful Balmain amenities • Everything you could need was provided — slippers, towels, toiletries, minibar, room dining options • The room was genuinely pristine The Club Lounge itself was excellent — lovely size, great views, good-quality food, and genuinely enjoyable evening canapés. It felt relaxed but polished, not overcrowded or chaotic. The Standout: Breakfast (and Andrew 👏) Now, the real highlight — breakfast. It was honestly one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had. Exceptional variety, excellent quality, beautifully presented — but what truly set it apart was Andrew, who runs the breakfast service. I have not seen someone do their job this well in a very long time. The service was: • Calm • Efficient • Attentive • Warm • Perfectly organised It was like watching a well-run military operation, but with kindness and grace. Orders were remembered, chefs were coordinated, everything had its place. No chaos, no confusion, no rudeness — just seamless hospitality. What made this even more impressive is that the hotel we usually stay at for Christmas is more expensive, yet every year breakfast there is stressful, loud, disorganised, and uncomfortable. This was the complete opposite. Even on extremely busy time when ALL guests wake up and comes to breakfast - it was NOT a long wait at all! Add to that the beautiful views, the sense of calm, and the feeling of being genuinely cared for — it was outstanding. Final Thoughts We loved it so much that we extended our stay by an extra night, and I already know we’ll be back. Absolutely 5 out of 5 — and officially my favourite hotel in Sydney.

Could have been better

Room was lovely, beds a little too firm, and garbage left over from previous guests tarnished the experience. Have been previously and usually have a wonderful time.
