So it's quite tricky to think what else they could do to improve our stay. We had pushed the boat out and gone for a room with a Bridge/Opera House view, and it was really worth it. All staff on top of their game. Breakfast a bit clunky - excellent selection but a bit of a faff with waiting staff going away to prepare eggs how you liked them. This meant you couldn't really coordinate with the rest of your breakfast. Cranberry juice option would be nice (says Hilda). Above are very minor observations when, in the greater scheme of things, this was an excellent choice with its location meaning all the tourist attractions of Sydney very close by

Having seen the pictures I knew my wife had chosen a luxury hotel near to the Sydney Opera House. However walking five minutes from the hotel entrance to the steps of that iconic building still took my breath away. How does she do it ? This hotel could not be better placed for the iconic harbour, the ferries and the Rocks area all within five minutes. Loved the roof top bar with its stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Not sure I have ever enjoyed a glass of wine in a better setting. Lovely ground floor meeting area and bar as well. As for room spacious and on the whole very comfortable. Only minor quibble was that the pillows were too soft but hey don't let that put you off.

Beautiful hotel in the “happening” downtown area. The hotel was repurposed from a century-old government building, and the transformation is striking and interesting. Hotel staff is welcoming and helpful. Great views from our 14th floor room. A short walk to the Sydney Opera house, and literally across the street from Sydney’s Botanical Garden.

Stayed at Intercontinental Sydney for a week in December. Communication with the hotel was good from pre stay and throughout the stay with a WhatsApp chat set up by the concierge team. My wife had a special birthday during our stay and the club lounge team got to know us well during the stay and surprised her with a cake and candle. Also in room treats were supplied by the hotel throughout our stay. Food in the lounge was good and the view was incredible over the opera house, bridge and Sydney. Special thanks to Yin for looking after us so well.

Excellent location. Near the Ferry and Central Rail Line. Rooms are modern and very clean. Staff at front desk is welcoming and professional. We arrived quite early at 6:00am. And due to our room category and availability, staff checked us in early on the 25th floor Club Lounge access with Opera House views. The club lounge is wonderful which is on the 31st floor. It has amazing views of Sydney. The food and service was fantastic. We liked the calm environment too. The main restaurant called Conservatory we ate one morning for Breakfast. It was loud and chaotic. The buffet is awkwardly laid out too. But the food is excellent.
